There’s a good chance it’s just for these two West coast games. Take the time to stay home, rest and heal up a bit. Hopefully he’ll be available for the Friday Mavs game. 6 game home stand end of Jan beginning of Feb.
That would be great, but given the reason they wanted Trae to stay home for the Heat game, they want to showcase Murray as a PG to the league. As long as he balls out, he'll be gone by the deadline.

Trae Young injury update: Hawks star placed in concussion protocol, out indefinitely
Welp we are definitely about to tank now. DJM probably will probably be traded soon to improve our draft pick.

Remember when we thought Big O would turn into a defensive monster Center? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Patty mills changed the game with his defense... Go Patty
I want more of this from Patty; I don't know how much more he has in the tank though.

Why was Quinn yelling at Bogi on that play? Multiple guys didn't run back on defense.

why r ppl so suddenly enamored w/ what djm's done the last 2 games? We've had 1.5yr to evaluate his fit. If anything I am hoping the last 2 games pushes his value up so some team will give us a better deal than what we've been offered.
Nobody is saying he suddenly fits and to not trade him. We are only saying that the proposed trades do not give us back adequate value for his skills. We would rather pull him off the market and see what the team can do the last half of the season before we just give him away. Revisit trading him in the offseason when other teams know they will need a PG for their roster.

I'm not trading DJM for any other situation than one that brings in another star that pairs better with Trae and JJ. If that situation does not exist right now, it is on Quinn as the coach to get our team figured out and produce better rotations. We should not give Murray away just to get rid of him. That's stupid.

Much better than Grimes or Dlo!
This is a parody Shams account. Not a real report from him.

Well, you have to start from the fact that OG's numbers are much better than Dejounte's:
Then you have to factor economics into the situation. OG is an UFA who you will have to pay a lot more for in FA and who could possibly walk. Since DM costs a lot less and is under contract for 4 years, he must be worth less.
Therefore, when you add it all up the return on trading OG >> DJ.
What OG numbers are better? And how does DJM being under contract for 4 years make him worth less than a UFA that you will have to overpay for? Did you just troll us?

I'm not waiting until 2028 to have another contending Hawks team. If the plan is a complete rebuild, then go ahead and trade Trae now. We will waste a generational offensive talent because our stupid owner and his son couldn't let the basketball minds stick to the plan.
IF the actual plan is a total rebuild, then I don't know how much longer I can be a Hawks fan. I've been here through losing season after losing season. I still buy multi-game ticket packages and season tickets for some years. But I can't go through another rebuild after this. We lucked into one of the most win-win trades with Luka and Trae, and we are just gonna waste his prime years rebuilding and trading away all of his running mates.- 6

Reading this thread we should be getting a protected first from Clint + 2 picks for Dre + 2 Picks & and Young Player for DJM. All while shedding these contracts from our books with expiring contracts so we can completely retool our team in one summer.
Delusion
None of that has been seriously said.
You can shame us all you want, but a DJM trade with the return centerpiece being Grimes is a horrible deal. We feel he has more value than that, and we have the right to feel this way as fans.
If we need to tear it down and rebuild a bit, fine let's do that. But just getting rid of DJM for minimal value is not how we start that process. You don't trade your second-best player for a role player. Keep him and remove other pieces like Capela, Hunter, Bogi, etc.- 1

Question. What if we brought Levine or Derozen in? Would this help the Hawks anf Trae? They're both go to guys that could get to the line. Think about it. Both have some size. 6-6 and 6-8
I would prefer Derozan since he would be a free agent and hopefully sign for a cheaper deal, or we SnT him for assets, or we just let him walk and use the money in free agency.
Levine seems like he will be a headache. He wouldn't be a willing #2 option, in my opinion.

@Sothron @Mikey @NBASupes @Vol4ever @thecampster
Should our deal happen faster now that the Siakam deal is completed. Or do we start asking for more value based on his trade?

The meltdown has been brewing nicely. We're almost at critical mass.
Some of us need to step away for a bit and relax.

So far I haven’t heard one trade rumor that sounds appealing.
Lottery magic is a little interesting. Getting a top 4 pick would be nice.
Nets can demand two firsts for DFS, Jazz ask for four picks for Markannen. We get Wiggins, Grimes, or Reaves. I don’t get it.That is more media magic. The Hawks only get talked about when mentioning what other teams have offered for our players. The teams they like get their wants posted as the asking price. We don't actually know what LF is asking for for DJM.

I don’t disagree. Kind of hard to trust the FO…so I’m a bit negative by default. But very good point.
the thought is we can draft another star and it never happens so I can’t argue with anything you’re saying.
This is what I see when people mention trading Trae and trying to draft the next star.
We already went to the ECF with Trae as our star, let's stop acting like he can't get us there again.

So let's get in front of it and trade that special player away. That will be sure to convince other star players that Atlanta is the right place for them.
Not attacking you personally, @JTB. But this line of thinking is what is going to set us back in eternal draft watch and I hated that. Let's not intentionally go backward.

Why are we even discussing trading Trae Young?
- Tony Ressler loves seeing T Young jersey sales, ticket sales, and all other financial benefits that come from having Trae Young as a Hawk
- Trae has embraced the city and wants to win here
- Quinn wants the whole team built around him with defense and length
He isn't going anywhere unless he demands out.

Moves need to happen. Point blank, this team has gone as far as it can go and needs change.

Hawks looking to trade

I'm sorry but with national media finally saying we want 2 1sts and a good player for Murray. There is no way we just trade Trae for our picks back. All-NBA Trae Young is not going anywhere anytime soon.
