  1. I am sorry but this is just wrong. Perimeter SG's like Joe should be around 45-48% so yeah Joe is shooting just a hair under average at 44.9%. A inside PF should be shooting around 50%, see David Lee as a pretty good comparison. Josh on the other hand is shooting 45%. Anyway the point is that Joe shooting percentage is average because he takes and make outside shots. Josh shooting percentage is below average because he takes and misses outside shots. Making only 37% of his outside shots according to 82games.com
  2. Kobe WestbrookPaulParkerRondoWadeThese are the guards that are having a better season right now. Lowry and Rose would also be ahead but they have both missed a lot of games.
  3. And it would be well deserved. 3rd team all nba would be a great way for Josh to finish the year. Maybe even 2nd team if the voters value defense over offense, bumping Blake Griffen down to 3rd. Hope the voters take into account a lot of the hard work Josh has put in with AL out.
  4. Yeah I compiled my list from people who are currently third options on their team, not people who were signed to be third options. So my list is gonna be skewed in the regard. But like I said I dont really care about who wins this argument.
  5. Gortat and Harris are on winning teams also. Crawford would also be on a winning team if the Blazers FO had not decided to tank the season and traded away Wallace. But really I dont care. For what it's worth I do think Joe is being overpaid. But I also think he is important enough to our team to semi justify him making that kind of money. I think Marvin is being overpaid also, but he is good coming off the bench as a 6th so we should keep him around.
  6. I cant vote in the poll because I refuse to answer the second question. I think everyone on this team wants to win, they are all competitors. As for who wants to win most, I would probably go with Tmac, he is gonna be gone soon I believe he wants a ring before he goes out.
  7. After looking it up it appears that the 3rd options (Or what I consider the 3rd option on the team) not on rookie contracts making around (2 million over or under) Marvin areJameer Nelson.Marcus ThorntonMarcin GortatDevin HarrisJammal CrawfordArron AfflaloTyrus ThomasKris HumphriesKeep in mind that I dont have a dog in this argument. These are just the people that you specified.Edit: Sothron has provided his own list above mine.
  8. Gotta be Marvin. Dont get me wrong, I kinda like Marvin and think he is a good 6th man. But he was drafted #2 and with that come some expectations. Could be worse though, he could be completely useless like some other #2 picks Thabeet and Milicic.
  9. If Miami is the top seed then we want the Bucks at 8. They are the only team besides us to beat them at home this year.
  10. Josh needs to stay near the table on that roll! He takes to many rolls 15ft and more away from the table. If he stayed near the table he would dominate!
  11. Realistically the only way he cracks top 5 in voting is if he averages 25 and 10 for the rest of the games this year and the hawks win 80% of the remaining games. Still nice to see Josh step up his game and get recognition for it.
  12. It's not only that but the guys have been getting a lot of minutes through this stretch. It's the second night of a back to back. The 76ers are a good home team and we are a mediocre road team. It's not a huge surprise that we drop this one.A long as we keep the games close and dont give up in the 4th then the team will be primed for a playoff run.
  13. Boston no doubt. I would like to see Orlando make it out of the first round, maybe we get them in the second and get to the ECF. A man can dream right?

    Seeding...

Orlando has a better record than Boston. Division leaders a promised a top 4 seed, doesnt mean that the division leaders will be 1, 2, and 3 in seeding.
  15. It's pretty obvious that Josh has the potential to be a all nba player. Hell, even now with him taking a bad shot way to often he is a great player. His shot blocking and help defense really make him stand out to award voters.
  16. I agree we need Al back. Not only is he more versitile than Josh but he also gives us another legit scoring threat. You cant double Joe and leave Josh open for a jumper when you have AL on the floor, he spreads our offense out.
  17. Last night is a good example of why we cant live with his shots even if he does everything else. When Josh sits on the perimeter people slack off of him, we have all seen it happen often during games. This is gonna leave an extra defender on Joe or at least in Joe's perimeter. So there you have it our team main scoring threats are not threats because one of them thinks he is Ray Allen, and that allows the other one to be doubled.
  18. Because there were no first round busts before advanced metrics, everyone who passed the eye test was able to play well at their position. Please, go feed your anti stat bull to someone that will eat it.
  19. Thanks! I enjoy reading condescending responses!Anyway you are sorely mistaken if you think that Josh cannot dictate the flow of the game when he plays in the post. When josh plays on the block he is a top 5 inside scoring threat. The Hawks winning and losing games hinges largely on how Josh decides to play every night. He is the most important player on this team both offensively and defensively. The Bulls dont have an inside force good enough to stop Josh, neither do the Heat or any other team in the eastern conference sans Orlando,
  20. That is not a fair accusation. Josh has games were he stays inside and gets 30, we beat anybody in the NBA. A team were josh has more than 6 missed jumpers is not likely to go very far. But a team were Josh is the best player can win a championship. It all depends on how Josh decides to play from series to series.
  21. Still holding my breath, hopefully Nate McMillan will come here. I dont dislike drew and in fact thing he is a pretty average NBA coach. But McMillan is a good NBA coach and thus an upgrade.
  22. Thus is the problem. Seven of those missed shots were jumpshots outside the paint, six were beyond 15ft. We all know he cant make those shots consistently. What would be his FG% if he had simply not taken those shots? 73%is you answer. Better yet if he would have been in the post and shot those seven shots from there he would have had a high FG% than even that and might have won us the game. Josh is not the reason we lost the game last night, tired legs would be the reason, but he does need to understand that he could be a all-nba 1st team player if he simply stopped with the jumpers.
  23. Josh by far had the best night last night. Joe played bad and Teague played like garbage. I dont have an problem with Josh taking 25 shots, as long as they are in the paint, until then he will continue to be criticized.
  24. Criticizing someone for volume shooting is completely fair point IMO. Volume shooting is why Monta Ellis and Josh were not in the all-star game. It is exactly the same critique that people have been leveling on Kobe for the past two seasons. Volume shooting is the reason that Crawford killed our offensive flow some many times last year. I dont think we should have it on out team.
