We'd be right back at the tax if we did. Doesn't make sense to do so imo.
You're right, thought he was at like $10M but he's at $17M!

Hawks shave another $5 mill under the tax and recoup a pick from the DJ trade.
This is interesting.

Regarding Vuc, the narrative seems to be that he has no positive impact on winning. Can any of you statisticians provide insight? He sounds like a lesser Kevin Love-type to me.
Don't have the stats in front of me but he's a mediocre defender, rebounder, shooter who doesn't get easy baskets or get to the foul line. For some reason he always goes nuclear on us but we got 2 centers better than him on the roster

Clips trying to unload Morris. They got any picks left? I'd take him in our TPE for a pick.

A guy I really like who is primed for stardom is Austin Reaves. That kid is really good and will (I hate to say it) probably be a better 2 than Murray next year. Can we SnT Murray for Reaves?

Well, he did learn one lesson. He learned that he made a mistake by forcing Budenholzer to resign and replacing him with complete and utter trash. He could have continued with the mindset of hiring a coach to "develop with the team", but he hired a Bud guy in Snyder. Paid to get him as well.
Fair take.

Wondering if Tony didn't learn his lesson after the past 18 months.
I doubt it tbh

Move Capela to the bench. Then we've got 48 minutes of strong C play (OO + Cap) and PG play (Trae + Murray). Bey probably starts at 4.
Trae/Kobe
Murray/Griffin
Hunter/Bogi
Bey/JJ
OO/Cap
We've got the MLE and a big TPE too. I'd be looking for a 2 way wing with those but they don't grow on trees.

All his moves range from positive (Snyder, Bey and Kobe) to understandable/defensible (Collins, much as it pains me to see him go). I was worried when Schlenk was let go as I was a fan but feel MUCH better now.
I just pray Tony doesn't Ressle too much control from him.

I think that question got answered with JC.
All things considered I guess it makes the most sense to me. Replacements on the roster, fit issues and biggest gap between production and contract (other than ... Well, I don't want this thread to hit 10 pages)

Histrionics is not really that obscure of a word.
What's your take on the word hubris?
Edit: just read this whole thread. Wow.

I would say Capela: we have his ready made replacement on the roster.
I think he's the biggest loss too. Maybe Collins can man backup C but I worry about our defense whenever Bey is playing next to him. Fascinating season upcoming, work your magic Q!

I voted under. I think Hunter is gone, he'll be easier to move than Collins IMO. It'd be awesome if Capela is cool coming off the bench because CC was our 2nd/3rd best player last year. Question is, if you could move one of Murray, Hunter, Collins or Capela, who is it?

@TheFuzz - That is clearly the issue then because those are the two big consequences of using the old theme that our provider broke with their updates.
Go to the bottom of the screen and click "Theme" (next to Language, Privacy Policy, etc.). Then select the "Default" theme.
It should go to a completely different color scheme and have a plainer look but should restore your ability to react to posts and quote them.
You the bomb.

@AHF no clue, I'm not the most technologically savvy tbh. I haven't been able to react outside of regular likes either. Been trying to give @Spud2nique the emojis he deserves.

Wasn't familiar with him, but that kind of tape really pops for a second rounder. I like it.

^^Waiting isn't the worst thing. We've got talent and I expect Quinn to maximize it. If we need to get under the luxury tax, Snyder will make a lot of our guys more tradable.

Not familiar with Mr. Lundy, but preliminary scouting I like. Between this guy and Bufkin I've gained confidence in Fields/Korver. We'll miss Schlenk's scouting eye but our current guys are competent in that department.

Unable to quote @JayBirdHawk, but I suspect we take the best deal for Murray, Hunter or Collins to free up some of our logjams and get under the tax. If the deals knock our socks off maybe we trade 2 of them. Sacramento, Indiana and Charlotte have cap and would probably like Hunter or Collins. Move Capela to the bench and we're golden.
Edit: @NBASupes I like the snippet from the article. I think this is going to take some patience particularly because we've got a lot of very talented young guys on the roster. Bufkin, Griffin, JJ still on rookie contracts, Bey and OO up for extensions. Those players are more talented and versatile than our current frontcourt but they aren't quite ready yet.

Seeing a handful of folks unimpressed with the pick. Nobody is a sure thing, but he will impress you. Give him a year or two and he'll be what DJ was supposed to be.

Doing my bi-annual log in to say I love the pick. The only guard I had clearly above him was Scoot. He can play the 2 and I think he's got all-star potential. Trae, Kobe, Griffin, JJ, OO is gonna bring us a chip in a few years.

Flaws and all.
By the end of it I expect him to be the best Hawk of all time.

Didn't see this one coming at all! Huge deal. Now that this is taken care of, gotta build the rest of the roster around them.
