  1. I have a hard time believing that.
  2. Which might explain golden patch. Maybe it is part of a map of some sorts, since the gold was never found.
  3. Well, he took a selfie with Xatar. A Kurdish gangster rapper who is currently sought after by interpol for a supposed involvement in stabbing, chopping and shooting a shisha-bar manager which belongs to KC Rebell, who made a diss-rap against Xatar recently. But the pick was taken before that. However Xatar has a long history also before that. From being jailed in USA for hitting a play-boy bunny in Hugh Heffner's mansion, to robbing a gold-transport succesfully and fleeing to Iraq(and being sought after by interpol). Surely, golden cars etc, all things not very likable to the bourgois mainstream sports-media, but Dennis is just a bit out there with it and never was part of normal life. The kid made it trough to where he is, by his own qualities and vices(and also knows how to use his vices for his own good). He's 6.1 and not 7 foot Dirk who whas brought up within a pro sports family and safe invironment. He is one of very few Euro PG's who made it at this age. I can only think of Rubio atm. Dennis knows this and doesnt plan to change for snobs. He rather rubs it in. I dont see a problem. His antics remind me of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and he did way worse, mostly proffesionally(chocking team-mates etc). And also Zlatan needs the hate and just being himself. The himslef that got him out of where he whas all by himself and the hate to prove everyone wrong once more. Its just those kind of guys. Its psychologically. I think low self-esteem is deeply grounded in it all, but it is the driving force in what made them in to what they have become. Dont tinker with it.
  4. All sports media sucks balls everywhere in their own ways. In Holland they do have a tradition of intellectualism with sports-journalism and they are often witty and clever, but the self-loathing and disrespect against sport stars is unseen, spescially since for such a small country they should hold up international representatives in much higher esteem. German media is just awful allround at being consumable(not fun, no depth, stupid "einspieler"), but they usualy give allot more credit to the athletes. Big US media is even worse at all those things, though USA has a great niche media landscape with great articles and podcasts.
  5. dennis, baze, dwight...need some floor spreading
  6. Dennis already altered his shot last year with the help of Kyle. He's pretty good in stretches from 3 and pretty good with that two dribble pull-up. You can see he concentrated on automating a few spots in his repetoire. The thing he needs to learn is becoming more consistent with what he already has under his belt and expanding his repetoire, which can be costly again regarding FG%. However, Dennis shot 51% of 3 in Germany from the Euro 3 point line. So he has the hops to make shots no doubt and does so now and then in crunch-time often.
  7. Most elite defenders where later draft picks. There is something about not being flashy and having to work yourself from the bottom up. Prince and Bembry(not as much) also have the body types and skillset to become that way. Unlike the Hawks rookies you listed. But indeed, its a bit much to see it the first year.
  8. Mind that we also where top D because of not going after second chances and Horford being a great leaper. He is also elite at taking over switches and shutting passing lanes while giving up the rim action. So we will see a whole new D. It remains to be seen if it will be better. I doubt it will. But we will be better at the rim no doubt.
  9. Dont act like what Im trying to say isnt true. You might wanna learn to read otherwise...OK then, two can play that game, you said: "here is the grand PF that is here to save us". Im all for it, but it wont happen. He is a typical player with some homestand matador skills that he displays now and then. He sucks at setting picks, his lateral speed sucks for his size etc. He shot his very first PO's 3 pointers last year of his whole career. He also doubled his PO's rebounding record and trippled his shot blocking record last year. While having about similar minutes per game, however playing much more games in previous PO's. All this indicates a fluke. And yes, I said PO's in my first post of the top of my head, remembering him going down south at the end of the year. So, do we finally wanna acknowledge the actual point, or do we childishly wanna stay in lalaland about "Hump" and what I said and just ignore the questionmark he always was and hopefully wont remain at this late stage of his career. For most of the minutes, I honestly rather see Mike Scott next to Splitter or Howard.
  10. Ok then. He sucked for large stretches at the end of the season after a few good games at the start of his arrival here. He then played a little in the PO's and hit a couple of shots, grabbed some rebounds and hard fouled a bit. The point remains the same. He wasnt all good last year. He is a question mark. And he needs to show he can play with the second unit. He is a journeyman for reasons. He was -1.9 for the season and -5.3 in April.
  11. Outside of one game with a last effort of throwing everything we got out of there action from Bud, whatever + he scrambled along vs CLE trying to hit a 3 point record, was garbage time. But Lurker is right. He sucked at the end of season and Bud took him out likely because he didnt click with the second unit. That is not to say that it can not click this year. It is just that I want to point out that isnt all fanfares with him. He as well is a question mark. His skillset gets attention on plays, but he's not all that on various aspects of the game.
  12. Hate to be a partypooper but he kinda sucked in the PO's.
  13. Seems more like a ""being to lightweight after a year of review"...prolly hired becuz woman.
  14. Most certainly worth the money. He's the one guy you know is going to give his all. He could have a much better season this year next to Dwight since last year he was burned out(top level wise) mid-season for having to do to much. But lets hope he learned from Al as well and takes up some tasks Dwight can not do.
  15. Dwight instead of trying to smile and look OK when at the line, should start doing some unwinding from active-play techniques and then breathing techniques and create a whole routine for each shot. And he should be grimming from start to finish. Not singing Beyonce.
  16. I think the FO is kind of hedging its bets with this roster. They now can also develop allot of young players. If it doesnt work out(which is just as likely imo than it working out), we can always rebuild in a somewhat comfortable manner. And blame Dwight...
  17. ATL should look into drafting Isiah Hartenstein and get another German. His skillset would actually fit well for what ATL needs. 6-9 SF/PF, can shoot, defend, rebound and can pass the rock. Dude was always the best on the floor, so his weaknesses have allot to do with being asked to do to much and not going in to team-mode srs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6E36aIB0mc
  18. Horf will do great in Boston. They needed a good big more than anything else. And I agree that Horf's qualities are undervalued, while giving up post d and offense with him. It is something u have to live with and we did by being floor-D champs, but his game late in the season became exposed and he didnt put the grind in to help out in other ways. He didnt have a wtf mentality to go places where he might add something more than he did for long stretches. Places that hurt more than others and I think he did that to gain this contract. But watch out Hawks fans. This season can also go total disaster. Horf laid out what we did last years. Without him the team will be a whole other.
  19. Offense Dwight remains a big question mark. It remains to be seen how far he wants to adapt and do things he can do. At this point I think he realizes that he made mistakes not adapting earlier in his career and also realizes this is not a post player league anymore. Dwight is a smart dude I think and the game-plan theory of things isnt the issue. He also should have a chip on his shoulder regarding all this being an open vocal point regarding his career in b-ball world. So make them shut up Dwight! I think defense Dwight was the mayor reason why Bud wanted him. Our 2 biggest weaknesses killed us for far to often in the playoffs. Also Korver should be able to get a clean look or 2 more a game. But Horford's switches and PnP will be missed. Still though, Horf got weaker and weaker as the season progressed. That was hard to watch and a leader going down like that takes the whole team down.
  20. If Dwight pan's out then it will send another signal to potential FA's that the Hawks organisation is a good place to come to.
  21. Delaney seems like a great spot-up shooter for all the driving wings and 2 guards on the bench-time roster(the rookies and Baze/Thabo). Thats an element that can adjust quickly to the NBA. While Jack would be great for taking on agressive PG's like Lowry or Delladova.
  22. Good honest answers. I get a more optimistic feel seeing and hearing him as such. He also looks leaner in the face. But that might be because of sitting there with Barkley.
  23. But then again, lastnames like these refer to oldstyle professions. Someone building floors in houses etc would just be called a "Zimmermann" which litterally means "Chamberman" and is a very common name in Germany and also among US Jews. "Budenholzer" I never heard before outside Bud, thereforeprolly refering to a much less common profession.
  24. Maybe, but "Buden" literally means "Stalls"("Bude" = "Stall" singular) at oldstyle markets etc. Or even sheds, in older use of the word. Today a "Bude" is used to commonly describe small appartments among informal circles, like among friends. Like "my smelly little Bude sucks". lol. A "Bude" has this aura of a patched up together woodwork with a roof to perform a short-term task or protect things from the elements outside the home that are sturdy - like fire wood. But indeed. all the wood found in "Bude's"(small appartments) today is usually wooded floors. So there you go. Bud remains a mystery...
  25. Denis is a common Turkish name. So the whole Muslim theme maybe...kids And Budenholzer literally means "Stallwooder" or "stall-carpenter" or more translatable: someone who builds stalls on fairs, markets etc. "Bude" = stall - "Holzer" Wood-er" or carpenter I guess. And yeah, Bud looks and acts very German too. Very calm, but u can see Furorus Germanicus lingering somewhere there in his crazy facial expressions sometimes. But it never really takes over...till now.
