  1. Taurean going for 50 tonight. Already has 10 points.
  2. Vince starting? Prince raining 3s? Len still knocking down the corner 3?
  3. For a reference, I always considered Marvin to be a "solid starter". But because he was picked #2 in the draft, he was routinely looked at as a bust. Since Trae was picked in the top 5, he almost has to be expected to be an All-Star, regardless of what anyone does behind him. The only time I'd give a top 5 pick a pass, is if an already stacked team was choosing #5, and needed a solid starter to complete their roster.
  4. Trae - All-Star or Hall of Famer Prince - Good starter / borderline All-Star Huerter - Solid starter Spellman - Solid starter Dorsey - Dependable bench player If these guys don't reach these expectations ( according to where they were drafted ), they were a failure as a draft pick.
  5. Fake shooters are the streaky shooters. Pero Antic was the fakest shooter alive, to me. He was getting the green light to shoot the ball, despite making less than 33% of his 3s. To me, if you're getting wide open spot up looks, and you can't make more than 37% of your open 3s, you're a "fake shooter".
  6. If people want Trae's "shot IQ" to improve, the team needs to surround him with legit shooters and scorers. Not fake "good shooters". Because the less shots others around him make, the more tendency he'll have to try to score on his own, like he's done all of his life.
  7. I thought he played a good game offensively. He knocked down the 2 open 3s he got. He attacked the paint and got a few layups. If he gets 2 of those floaters to fall, you're now talking about him shooting 7 -13 and scoring 20 points. To me, people will come after Trae like they did Lonzo Ball in his rookie year. It took Lonzo about 2 months to adjust. Once he did, he started playing much better.
  8. Couldn't keep Dennis because he may have led to the Hawks winning 30+ games. Anything above 30 wins messes up Schlenk's "master plan".
  9. Dorsey tries to out do Young whenever they're on the floor together. This happened even in summer league.
  10. 39 fouls called in this game so far . . . and we're only 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter.
  11. Trae tried to build a skyscraper with that bricked 3.
  12. LMAO Hurerter. He'll be clowned for the rest of the year for that missed dunk. That wasn't even close.
  13. Trae has his hands absolutely full with Conley, on both ends. Part of his offensive development will be to learn how to get open when he doesn't have the ball.
  14. Dorsey kind of ballin' And Len ( not Lin ) shot that 3 with confidence
  15. Bembry so far: - Blown lay-up - Bad pass out of bounds - Gets tied up on the sideline - Lets Marshon Brooks drive right past him for a lay-up Can you do something positive please, sir? Gross has 2 triples.
  16. Who said that he'd be 20 and 10 in his rookie year? Maybe at his peak. I don't think the 10 rebs is out of the question, once he becomes a starter. I'd say 15 and 10 is more realistic. I don't see Cauley-Stein being able to keep Bagley out of the starting lineup for too long. I'd make Bagley the opening night starter by default.
  17. It'll be very interesting to see how Trae plays tonight. He's going up against a borderline All-NBA PG in Conley, plus his college nemesis Carter. Conley's offense will challenge Trae's defensive abilities. Carter's defensive abilities will give him issues on offense. Trae playing well tonight will speak a lot about his mental toughness.
  18. My expectations for this team is extremely low. And normally, I'm one of the people who tries to be optimistic. I think I predicted 55 wins after the 60 win season. My predictions 21 - 61 record Trae Young struggles to shoot the ball until January, when things start to become a little easier for him the 2nd half of the year. Because he really lights it up in March, he'll make 2nd team All-Rookie John Collins gets very close to averaging a double-double for the season and has a good year overall. I say he's a 16 pt - 9 reb guy Taurean Prince or Kent Bazemore ( or both ) are traded before the trade deadline Vince Carter scores over 150 points for the season, putting him past the 25,000 point mark for his career Either Omari Spellman or Kevin Huerter turns out to be a complete bust The Hawks lead the league in pace, but finish in the bottom 5 in Offensive Efficiency Hawks, PLEASE prove me dead wrong in all of this, except for Collins.
  19. LOL . . and here I am thinking he was going to just hand it off to the big man. He literally looked back at Poythress on the head fake, and Alex went straight into the lane as soon as he turned the corner. That was impressive vision.
  20. If that's what you want, the team has to put themselves in position to acquire them. That means another tank season. This also means that Taurean Prince and Kent Bazemore should be traded before Christmas, unless the team sucks even those 2 on the roster.
