  1. He won't be there for us to take anyway, unless we're in the bottom 2 of the draft. If people don't think that Coach K can make that kid better, I don't know what to say.
  2. I I believe @Buzzard is up. I traded down to get the last pick.
  3. Wow. Baze went from "trade him for a bag of Skittles" to making the Dynasty Draft?
  4. The Ballers: Bagley III - 19 Carter Jr - 19 Ball - 20 Porzingis - 23 Kuzma - 23 Cousins - 28 Evans - 28 Crawford - 29 Ingles - 30 Williams - 31 Howard - 32 Lebron - 33 Average age: 26 yrs - 91 days . . . ( Happy Birthday Demarcus!! ) - 3 Future Hall of Famers - 4 Potential young All-Stars - 3 Vet sharpshooting role players - 1 Young shooter - 1 Scrub who can shoot lights out when he gets going
  5. 2 solid picks. Collison would've gone in the top 75 a mere 2 years ago.
  6. Love was drafted in 2009 Irving was drafted in 2012. So who after 2009 do you think will be in the Hall of Fame, that played PF or PG? There are a few obvious ones, but that isn't going to be a long list at all. And for the Hall, you DO need the numbers as well as the playoff accolades.
  7. Love 1 NBA Championship . . celebrated for his defense vs perimeter players in Game 7 5x All-Star . . . and with a weakened East, should make 2 - 3 more All-Star teams ( especially if he leads the Cavs in scoring, and if they stay a playoff level team 2 All-NBA teams Currently at 11,000+ pts and 7,000+ rebs. There should be no reason ( other than injury ), that Love shouldn't reach 18,000+ points and 11,000+ rebs. Every person who has reached those numbers are in the Hall of Fame. Irving 1 NBA Championship . . made an iconic shot in Game 7 to seal it. 5x All-Star . . . same parameters that went for Love, goes for Irving. He should make multiple All-Star teams 1 All-NBA team Currently at 9,600+ points and 2,400+ assists at only age 25. If he gets to 18,000+ points and 5,000+ assists, you'd think he'd be a shoo-in for the Hall. The only 3 people NOT ( or will not ) get into the Hall with those numbers are Reggie Theus: ( 19,015 pts - 6,453 assts . . . in 12 seasons ) Jason Terry: ( 18,881 pts - 5,415 asst . . . in 18 seasons ) and MAYBE Joe Johnson: ( 20,405 pts . . 5,001 asst . . . in 18 seasons ) . . . . 20,000 points normally gets you in, if your name isn't Antwan Jamison and Tom Chambers. Honestly, Kawhi may have the MOST work to do out of these 3, despite having his Finals MVP award. His prowess as an elite defensive player will help him, even if he doesn't end up with gawdy offensive numbers.
  8. 3 Hall of Famers 3 good young prospects 6 solid starters And all 30 and under. Great job.
  9. Pierce would have to be one of the worst coaches in NBA history for that to happen. I don't know how good he'll be, but there is no reason to expect our players not to develop, unless you just want to hate everything you don't agree with. That's not true. Pierce could be a dang good coach, and the team could still be losing. Minnesota, even with KAT and Wiggins, wasn't good in KAT's 2nd year. Thibs only won 2 more games than Sam Mitchell did in that season ( from 29 to 31 wins ). It took Minnesota trading for Jimmy Butler, to become good again. If we're not good in 2 years, that's much more of an indictment on Schlenk, than it will be on Pierce. This team does not look good AT ALL to be a good defensive team. Even if they're top 15 in offense, they could be atrocious on the defensive end.
  10. Denver 1994 is the closest thing to what you're talking about https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DEN/1994.html But even they had 27 year old Dikembe and 29 year old Reggie Williams as key starters. On this team, Lin and Plumlee will be 30 by the time the season starts. Baze and Dedmon will be 29. Everybody else is 25 and under.
  11. So if this were a Spades hand, that's 3 and 3 possibles.
  12. With my draft virtually over, I need to select one of the greatest ballers of all time, that doesn't get to play, but is a tremendous cheerleader on the bench. I need a baller .... A TRUE BALLER. So with the 148th selection in the Hawsquawk Dynasty Draft, the Northcyde Ballers select ... JORDAN CRAWFORD Despite playing in only 24 regular season games in 2 years, Jordan Crawford continues to prove that he can score with the best of them. Spot up 3s? Check Midrange jumpers? Check Weird shooting motions? Check From an offensive standpoint, he has what it takes to play in this league. Defensively . . . . eh? But who cares about defense. When you do one thing well . . and that's score the basketball . . it shouldn't be taken lightly. Jordan was stellar in the 5 regular season games he played in this year, averaging 22.8 ppg - 8.8 asst on a Per 36 minute basis. He also posted career highs in PER ( 19.1 ) and Total Shot % ( 60.1% ). And the 14 quick points in a blowout at Golden State in the playoffs proves that he's still got it. But it is his past that haunts him. He's too confident in his abilities, which puts a negative perception on him. He's somewhat loose at the lips ( he tossed out an "allegation" toward Carmelo Anthony back in 2013, which was an extension of this ): Jordan's mouth and quirkiness may be keeping him out of the NBA. But in our franchise, we embrace abrasive and malcontent players, as long as you prove that you can put that ball in the basket. Heck, Lavar Ball is our Director of Marketing, so adding Jordan is nothing. We can handle him. One day soon, Jordan may have a moment like he had in the NCAA tournament. Until then, welcome to the Ballers!
  13. LOL ... how dare you challenge the eligibility of the TRUE BALLER. Thanks @AHF on the quick ruling.
  14. With my draft virtually over, I need to select one of the greatest ballers of all time, that doesn't get to play, but is a tremendous cheerleader on the bench. I need a baller .... A TRUE BALLER. So with the 149th selection in the Hawsquawk Dynasty Draft, the Northcyde Ballers select ... JORDAN CRAWFORD Write-up will come later. @capstone21 is up.
  15. On the road today, on an 8 hour trek to South Georgia. I'll check the site during gas stops. I have my guy in mind, but no time for a write-up until tomorrow. You all will LOVE my next pick.
  16. LOL . . I could've sworn that I posted the video. My bad.
  17. Looks like Vince's move to ATL has a little more to do than just basketball. Interesting comments when he talks about his role on the Hawks and what ATL may bring to him in the future. Good interview all around, talking about the state of the league as well.
  18. Hmmm . . . who can coach this squad? PG - Lonzo - Lou Williams G - T. Evans - Ingles F - Lebron - Kuzma PF - Porzingis - Carter Jr C - Cousins - Bagley - Howard Hmmmm . . . maybe. But I think we'll go another route. With the 141st selection in the Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft . . . the Northcyde Ballers select the 2018 NBA Coach of the Year DWANE CASEY We here in the organization know a good coach when we see one. All he did was be the head honcho of 3 of the best Raptor teams in franchise history. He took a team that was down in the dumps after losing their Hall of Famer - Chris Bosh - and steadily led them to the top half of the Eastern Conference playoff seeds. And I'm sorry, when the only guy you're losing to in the playoff is Lebron James, you get a pass. Sorry Lavar, but Casey has the temperament to coach this great mix of veterans and young guys. And after you made these comments . . . . we really can't trust you coaching the team. Casey has won 166 games in the past 3 seasons, so we'll roll with him. We we CAN DO, Lavar, is make you Director of Marketing for the Northcyde brand. We do admire what you have done with your independent brand, despite the lofty expectations placed on yourself. You take care of the marketing, but leave the coaching to Mr. Casey. @JayBirdHawk you are up ma'am.
  19. Whoa. Didn't know I was up. Gotta PM me. Sometimes I don't check all of the notifications, but if I got a PM, I check it.
  20. In almost positive that an MLK game will take place in ATL. It just won't be nationally televised.
