  1. They should have more than tonight. The good passing lineup comes from the bench. The qualifier of saying were the assists will come from the starters to me is misleading. Bogi, Jalen and OO are plus passers for their position so that's where the other assists will come from when the team is playing well.
  2. That's misleading though. They missed a bunch of good looks.
  3. Well the past few seasons, the team came out like gang busters and had us all hyped to just finish around .500. Its early season and there's a ton of overreaction in here. The Hawks struggle against the hornets for some odd reason. Trae never shoots well against them unless its a play-in. Not even disappointed cause like I said. This team is a .500 team until they prove otherwise. Really hoping they prove otherwise.
  4. I just know you going to light them up during the regular season when the are 41-41 again. My realistic prediction is 46 -36. My floor for the team is 41-41 Best - 54 - 28 2. Name the starting PF and C at season's end - JJ and Clint Capela 3. Team 3P% (Last year 35.2%)- 36% 4. Team Defensive Rating (Not looking for the actual number but where we rank among other teams. Last year we were #22, year before #26.)- 18th 5. Team leader in 3P% (Minimum 50 FGM)- Bogi
  5. Those of us in the keep Capela corner aren't against trading him. We just aren't for trading him for the sake of trading him and not getting something in equal or greater value in return. It's easy to say yes let's trade him, but what's the return on him? Trade Capela for a 2nd round pick and have Bruno as your back up just because? No, thanks to that. Edit: Also not saying your point isn't valid. We will lose negotiating power the longer we wait. The salary cap rising may help us out a bit.
  6. That's the thing, we won't have that tied up in every position and will be fine. There salary cap is going to go up a lot and having $50 million tied up in the center position won't cripple the Hawks. If Tony wants to win, he'll have to pay luxury tax at some point.
  7. If we are only talking about improving one elements of someone's game Clint has improved his free throw shooting. He is in the 60s now and used to be in the 50s. Every asset. Ould have a downside in the future. The question is when that downside is a steep decline.
  8. I don't agree with this. He has to stop fouling so darn much. He's been good for a back up, but it remains to be seen if he's good as a full time starter. Clint is a proven commodity. I'd like to keep the center rotation strong unless we are moving Clint for something that's going significantly upgrade our center rotation. I don't see OO as good enough to be making any kind of demands. Client is still a top 10ish center. That could change with both their performance this year though. All I guess I'm saying OO needs to show me more if we want to jettison Clint off.
  9. If nothing else, this team looks much more exciting than the prior few preseasons. Hope they can bring that defensive energy throughout the regular season.
  10. I'll see what they look like after the first 24 games before I start believing the hype again, Until proven otherwise, this is a .500 team as far as I am concerned. They are not going to take me for the okey doke again.
  11. Oh yeah, I'm ready for the season. Just not excited by the workouts, the over exaggerated improvements such and such has made all for them to end up in the playing. I'm at the point where talknis cheap and you got to show me you want it as bad as I want it for you.
  12. I hate to be a downer, but nothing this team does, as far as practices, NBA runs, etc., before the season excites me anymore. They are going to have to prove it on the court this year. In year's past, I was all excited about everything with the offseason. After last year's full season of mediocrity, I'm expecting a 41-41 season until they prove otherwise. I want to see this team hungry and playing hard on both sides of the ball from the start to end of the season to get a top seed. Hopefully, Quinn can be a big help with consistency this upcoming season. I am ready for the preseason game though.
  13. He learned pretty quickly which is why he took down that Beyonce tweet...lol
  14. I guess so? He doesn't know how vicious the beehive can be...lol
  15. He is about to go viral. With the recent death in his family, I think he is coping.
  16. Yeah, religion is one thing I don't really debate with people. I respect whatever people believe or don't believe. Feel free to feel what you feel as long as you aren't trying to force it on other people. AJ doesn't seem to be doing that here either. I like how his faith helps keep going and be positive about life. Lol TRUE!
  17. That's where I'm at. Good faith keeps him grounded, but that entire end times part is what people were debating with him about. I understand AJ's point. I also understand the counter points of people have been saying these are the end days since the 1700's.
  18. There are more posts about the fit issue in this thread than the not re-signing issue. The fit issue isn't about the spacing and 3P Shooting. It's about can you have a front court of two 6'8" players and be successful. Does Jalen Johnson fit with Siakim and his skillset? Does Dejounte? The answer is yeah, it can work, but would it be the best for the Hawks. In my opinion, NO! That's the only reason I wanted KAT because he makes everyone that we currently have on the roster fit into a nice role and the skillsets compliment each other. You can say yeah, the defense may suck. The defense may suck with Siakiam too with a much worse offensive impact.
  19. I would remove Jalen and Siakiam from this and Add KAT who makes more sense to me from a roster construction stand point. He makes OO starting make a lot more sense for us.
  20. PG - Trae Young SG - Desmond Bane SF - OG PF - Onyeka Center - Jokic Edit: I must have been under a rock, I didn't realize that SGA was first team all nba and 5th in MVP voting. That's really wild.
  21. Can you make that work under the salary cap or are we just using @TheNorthCydeRises criterion?
  22. You'll never get a response to this because someone just wants to argue about Trae Young's talent. I'm glad y'all have matured enough not to take the bait and just let some people be miserable as they root against their star player.
  23. Yes, I'd hate to have to give that type of money to Tatum.
