Official Game Thread: Bucks at Hawks -- ECF GAME 4
marco102 replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
He said the Bucks don't have a killer instinct. The Hawks do have a killer instinct. They've shown that throughout the playoffs. -

The one thing about the Hawks, they smelled blood and took it up a notch. Bud's going to have to play Middleton and Holiday the rest of the game to stay in this. That'll benefit the Hawks for game 5. -

This game is even more exciting than when we are putting up 70 pt first halves. This team will be a defensive juggernaut when Hunter gets healthy. Cam, Dunn, OO, have been fantastic off the bench. Nate knows defense and they are executing at a very high level. We have a real shot here y'all. Just got to keep playing the tough defense. -

Can we win this with our defense? Stay tuned. The good thing about defense is it travels! -

Nate said ok. No Trae Young. I'm going to throw out my all nba first defensive squad out here. -
Here you go John. Take all of Ressler's money!

Time to have the uncomfortable conversation about Bogdanovic
marco102 replied to Peoriabird's topic in Homecourt
Nope. My response was you can't just pull up stats without some context. Bogi has already proven that he doesn't play well with injury. In my post I said exactly what you are saying. He's some where in between. He's probably not as bad as this playoff run with the injury and not as good he was at the end of the season. All I'm saying is we would probably want to get a look at him semi healthy before trading him away or saying this is who he will be in the playoffs going forward. Especially considering this is also his first playoff run. Not saying his play doesn't suck. Just saying his sucky play should not mean don't give him credit for getting us here and this some referendum on who he is. But if you guys want to continue bitching about something that won't change (Bogi being on the team). Proceed. -

I read they are willing to trade the number 7 pick, their current pick, and Wiseman for an upgrade. I'd be very interested in Wiseman if I were the Hawks, but the Hawks aren't trading anything to get him. -

Yeah, that's where I'm. @KB21 is this worse or better than an ankle sprain? -

No it's a greater point. Pero has an agenda and we all admit Bogi isn't playing well. However, that doesn't mean we should trade him right away because Pero has some affliction with the young core members he thinks will be traded or not get playing time because Bogi is on the team. We should at least want to see how a healthy Bogi performs in another playoffs run to determine if this is who he is in the playoffs. Some players can play well through injury and some can't. Bogi at the beginning of the season was recovering from Covid and sucked. Then he caught fire. I expect the real Bogi to be between who was at the end of the season and the injured one we are currently seeing. We can all agree he's not playing well and probably should get less playing time. However, trading him and saying he's always sucked is the point you are supporting from Pero. When BOGI and his play is one of the main reasons we got to the playoffs in the first place. -
Yeah, it's to his foot and not his ankle which is interesting. I don't know what the recovery time or what with bone bruises.

Go pull up Trae's percentages and tell me he's not any good. -

That's because our three point shooters are bricking wide open shots. If they had hit some of those, he would have had more assists. The inside passing which is lobs or dump offs have less variance in them as both John and Clint are relatively good finishers. -

I agree 100%. Maybe they sit him out game 4 if it's too bad and let him come back for game 5. Bogi and Hunter being injured or hurt makes Trae's injury so much worse. -

Yeah, I'm hoping he can come back and at least have his burst. I have no doubt that he will play and it didn't appear to be a high ankle sprain. -

At the same point in the 76ers series we would have said the same thing about the 76ers. Remember game 1 of the 76ers came back from 26 down to almost take the lead. Game 2, what's his name went nuclear to destroy our hopes. Game three they pretty much beat up the Hawks at home. Game four and five is where the Hawks started fighting back. -

I think for me, personally, I'm on the ledge, but not quite falling off. Trae's injury has me shook. That's the difference between my belief in this series and the Philly series. This game is reminiscent of game two versus the 76ers where that guy went nuclear from the 3rd to the 4th to win the series for them. If Trae can come back and be himself, I'm much more hopeful the Hawks can pull it off. -

It was longer than one month it was around the time you took your hiatus because you couldn't deal with the fact he was playing well and I called you out for it. Now here you are spamming the board again with your agenda. Some players play through injury well and others don't. Now this isn't to say the injury is 100% the reason Bogi struggled, because he had a few inefficient games against the Knicks and sixers before the injury. It is you always go to absolutes to prove you were right about something which I personally don't get. Remember the more you spam about this the harder the clap back will be and then I guess you'll take another two month hiatus. -

This team goes as Trae goes. If his ankle ain't right, this going to be tough to pull off. DAMN! -

These refs have been atrocious. I'm not one to complain about reffing, but even the Bucks knew Gallo was fouled and Okongwu was fouled by Giannis on the dunk.
