  1. They must REALLY like JJ... "(Josh) Smith is impressive and has the ability to be a very very good player. If push came to shove and a sign and trade was the best option for us, Harrington, Delk (both FAs after next season), along with Smith wouldnt be a terrible deal. But right now, re-signing JJ should be an absolute must." Scott
  2. Quote: He was at the draft party. Looked the same, but even if he packed 10 lbs on you wouldn't be able to tell in a suit. Chillz was wearing baggy jeans and a polo. Both he and Boris looked as skinny as ever.
  3. From Dan's NBA.com profile... "Ranks #1 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes (7.0)" We'd have some serious offensive rebounding potential if we nabbed him. Marvin, Chillz, Smoove, Gadz., esp if Salim is launching from deep.
  4. This is all I need to know: (from NBA.com profile) "Despite receiving four stitches over his eye, grabbed 12 boards in a victory over Indiana."
  5. Sorry I didn't make it to the store (for anyone waiting). We couldn't get back down to the lower level once I met a co-worker. At least we did get our high-five recorded on the hawks blog. http://www.nba.com/hawks/news/blog.html This was an excellent, and well attended event.
  6. Quote: I have plans on being there. Does anyone know if this will be a family enviournment. C'mon down. Bring the kids (so i won't be the only one).
  7. Quote: Not sure how anyone plans to meet. Any thoughts? Maybe outside the team store @ 7:15? Anyone else? I'll be outside the team store at 7:15 with my wife and 2 year old daughter. I'm a whitey with glasses and a shaved head. Who should I be looking to find? Scott
  8. Quote: Jay Bilas? Wasn't he the guy that proclaimed Josh Smith a bust? Why would you quote that moron? As much as I was pissed to hear what Bilas said, he is hardly a moron. I thoroughly enjoy hearing the replay, and am glad to watch him eat crow. Regardless, he still has insight, and is far more likely to be on the mark than not. His criticism of Josh at the time was fair (no right hand, lackluster effort), calling him the "most likely to bust" was a little silly - since the 17th pick isn't projected to be an all-star. This year, I'll be booing Bilas and listening at the same time.
  9. Quote: they should give us all free drinks for being hawks fans Anyone could run that special 24/7 and (unfortunately) remain in business.
  10. The humility in knowing that he has a lot to learn and much to prove makes Marvin: a) more of a Knight/Woodson player than Bogut. b) my preference for our pick (though I've been in Bogut's camp since midseason) You just can't approach workouts (and the league in general) like you've already arrived. The only potential positive in Bogut's proud comments is that the desire to not be the "next great white stiff" might be as strong as Marvin's motivation to realize his potential. Skaughty
  11. Quote: That is great news!! Hopefully, LA doesn't make the playoffs, and the Celtics drop to 14 or 15. Now I get more incentive to do something I've been doing for the last 25 years - root against the Celtics and Lakers! -Skaughtybee
  12. Quote: tough competition...longley...and...?? just kidding. ...Andrew Gaze (of course)
  13. Quote: He's a career 38% shooter. He has not proven to me that he is a capable starting caliber player in the NBA. He may have potential, but the contract numbers that are being thrown out there for him are entirely too much. Six years, $55 million for a career 38% shooter!! I guess the extra 3% that Antoine shoots is worth another $5M/season. Obviously we are finishing a bad contract, and the Knicks will be beginning one, but shooting percentage isn't the "be-all-and-end-all". let's hope so at least, as SOMEBODY's rebounding numbers are due to go up this year.
  14. Quote: Frankie's. 285 at Roswell Road. They are showing the game and Jason is there. Head out there if you can! Then go to 5 Seasons and grab some new high gravity beer! Skaughtybee
  15. ...listening to 790 from 3-4pm. No mention of the deal yet. Skaughtybee
  16. If so, is this @$7.4, ascending by $500K/yr? That doesn't sound too bad...especially considering the market this summer. Skaughtybee
  17. He said "the East is back", followed by "I'll guard anybody but him" Gee, i wonder to whom he might have been referring....maybe the same guy when asked "Do you feel like you werre punched in the face by the Lakers?" To which he replied "If I was, I didn't feel it". Scott
  18. Quote: Cincinnatti was deep as well, they played a team game as well. Do you mean Cincinnati? Sorry, I lived there most of my life, and have an annoying peeve about it. I guess it is similar to those that spell Pittsburgh without the final "h". I feel better now. Skaughty
  19. I think we know why it took a while for the announcement and press conference... ...Woodson was working on getting his beard just right!
  20. Quote: what happened to that point guard/shooting guard kid who was in the draft i think last year..i was real high on him(as you can tell by me forgetting his name)..he was a little short and thick so they compared him to tim hardaway but he had some real skills. or at least it seemed he did. Steve Logan.
  21. Quote: I guess no one wants to give their opinion. Del Gave his opinion. Mavs' Harris no longer a candidate to coach Hawks 11:37 PM CDT on Sunday, June 27, 2004 By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News Del Harris will be staying with the Mavericks next season. Harris has taken himself out of the running for the Atlanta Hawks' head coaching position, two sources close to the Mavericks said Sunday. Harris was one of the favorites for the Atlanta job after interim coach Terry Stotts was fired following the season. Harris talked with the new Atlanta owners before starting his duties as coach of the Chinese national team. The Hawks have been talking to numerous candidates, including Detroit assistant coach Mike Woodson and Indiana assistant Mike Brown. However, Harris had been considered a front-runner until he took himself out of the running. ... http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...rief.25865.html
  22. Quote: And another thing, there builds are totally different. Darius Miles just looks awkward to me. I don't see how we could possibly play Point-Forward one day. Josh Smith's body looks much more proportioned at least from what I've seen. ...except for that ridiculously small head of his.
  23. 1. Livingston 2. Gordon 3a.Iggy 3b.Biedrins
  24. I think ATLien is right...Knight knows his man (Andris) will be there at 6, b/c nobody else in the top 10 wants him.
