  1. Just want to ask how many minutes has R.J. Hunter played as a point guard at any level? Right now he is still looking for his jump shot that he left at Georgia State and who expects him to handle a roundball like a PG in the near future.
  2. Well for Jeff it could prepare him for that bigger role here or elsewhere (whenever that may be) especially since we could be garnering the farm team of success that other teams can mine for players and other employees such as DMC and Atkinson. Spoelstra was the video coordinator a good while back for Miami (I believe hired in 1995). Good for Jeff.
  3. Very interesting this lineup was so successful. Pretty fleet squad even with Scott out there. Dennis, Thabo and Al are all strong defensively as well.
  4. No one knows about the legal bit yet but Scott is good offense off the bench. Keep him, lose Moose and sign Humph and we have good depth at PF and some help at C. Scott is a good value at his current salary.
  5. Really do understand trying to figure out a vet to give solid minutes at SF. The problem we would run into if we trade Teague for a swing tweener is if our first rounder is a SF as we mostly agree then our backup PGs are probably a second round pick and a middling vet. So our strong forty eight minutes on the floor at PG becomes at the least weaker and a serious concern going into next season.
  6. Don't appreciate the Warriors so much anymore at all but I would greedily accept that fate for the Cavs. The charging bull in a china shop, the three point specialist who never cared about rounding out his game power forward and the point guard who checks in and out daily only if he is healthy taking the trophy would be so very painful and in our Eastern Conference to boot .
  7. Why does Ish not stick anywhere. He is quick and surely is at least a solid backup? Don't get it. Remember when Stinger commented on him in the distant past about him making a team better because of his speed and work ethic. Absolutely agree. Okafor has to play defense to get meaningful minutes especially late in games with Bud's scheme. Bud is definitely stubborn but I just don't see the FO telling him how to manage minutes with any player with his success so far as our coach. Budball's defense is what kept us alive at all during the second half of the season this past year.
  8. Yeah, seems like there is always that below the cuff player whose ugly head really reveals itself in the playoffs moreso than the regular season. History has let Laimbeer, Mahorn, Rodman and even PGs like Lue and Stockton get away with consistent dirty play. Before these playoffs I didn't think of Draymond being in the same get away with it category but not that big of a surprise really, I was wrong again. The NBA playoffs is the Jokers Wild of common sense.
  9. Definitely agree to the Korver replacement thinking because even if Korver comes back strong from a rehab free off season he still will be 36 freaking years old during this next season. I love Korver stretching the floor but father time is a reality check for him past next season even with a balls to the wall off season routine. Whether he is here past next year or not he will be a three point threat off the bench for someone. He seems to have intuitive coaching abilities we can really use on the floor and elsewhere. I remember teammates commenting on his on the floor communication as if they were surprised by it. He used to shoot threes after practice with Morrow and also DMC that shows some serious dedication. Back to the point tough I feel Tim will gain consistent positive minutes.
  10. Hate the finals matchup but thinking that if Draymond goes all MMA on one of LeBron's teammates he will definitely miss the next game.
  11. Always am very interested to see what we can do with our picks other than trading them away but I admit last years first round trade looks like it is really going to work out for us. Once Bud gained some trust in Tim's slowly improving defense then we saw on the floor some promising moments. A year in the system now so we will see how many minutes he can command. After this example I'm more open minded about the results of a possible trade in this year's draft.
  12. I believe the last time I could stand watching the Cavs was when Lenny coached them but they always ran into MJ. Same story over and over, MJ was their end of the road. Ironic that the Cavs have that type of dominating player now and they are the road block for the rest of the East. Really wish he would change sports or something. Maybe skydiving. Are there billion dollar sponsors in that sport?
  13. As off putting as the Warriors arrogance can be I still don't want to see LeBron with another trophy in his hand.
  14. Yeah, doesn't seem like a team would trade for Tiago with the idea he will give them good minutes more than half a season. Still Humph should be affordable for what he gives us if we just play him decent minutes even though he is the size of a PF. He plays like he is bigger and he could help keep Tiago's minutes down and hopefully reduce the injury risk. If we have them both then Moose could go somewhere else assuming Scott is able to play next season.
  15. Don't think anyone other than Philly would have a crazy high value for Noel like that. Noel really needs some mass if we were to try and use him at both C and Pf. As Bank previously said Teague would probably get it done. Pretty sure Colangelo would make sure Jeff would not be a rental.
  16. "Mike D'Antoni is clearly an exceptional salesman because somehow, someway, despite the fact he's never won a Western Conference crown and certainly not an NBA crown, the man continues to land jobs," Smith said. "From Phoenix to New York to L.A. (and) now L.A. to Houston, these are not shabby jobs this man ends up getting. Somehow, some way, he keeps landing himself in situations where he's in Phoenix, he's got Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. He's in New York, he's got Carmelo (Anthony). He's in L.A., he's got Kobe (Bryant)." Thats from the always angry mouth of Stephen A. Smith. Wether he is ever right or wrong I tend to disagree with him a lot of times because of his anger management issues. This time I agree with him but don't see how D'Antoni could win the WCF while in New York. Need to at least take a small shot at Smith just to feel sane for seeing his point of view.
  17. Yeah Gonzo, I think players have realized this for over a decade or more. Major free agents just don't mark us down as a first option for them. Ferry gave us a nice positive shift with the signing of Sap and DMC but other FAs are still probably very aware that there is not a consistent boom from the crowd in our arena.
  18. This series reminds me a good bit of us playing Miami in the playoffs when we had Joe. Seemed like every game was won or loss by over twenty points back then. The closest one this series was fifteen points. At least the Raptors drew some blood by taking two games which is more than Detroit or we did against the Cavs.
  19. Thats a great little clip. Angela and I don't have sheep but we really do love our neighbor's Corgis. The coolest freaking dogs that also want to herd you somewhere or anywhere (because to them people are the same as sheep unless there is a dog food bag around). To digress though my post has nothing to do with the roundball subject started by Diesel. Just love that Corgi clip.
  20. Thanks for posting the article JayBird. The game he talked about shows that Hardaway definitely has the tools. Hoping we already have our future starter at SG with our staff conditioning him, coaching him and pushing him. Nice to hear about him in the weight room. Guessing he and Moose don't hang out too much.

    The Pitch!!

Remembering a few times we played Charlotte in the past and Nique would almost be making fun of Biyombo's lack of skills. He had heart, could jump and hustle in the paint but it was as if he had just started playing last week and was considered a pretty long term project. Charlotte even took a good bit of heat for the pick. Now look at him. Did Casey help flip that light switch on or has Biyombo absolutely taken control of his career? With all the cap stuff coming up his timing is really good.
  22. Yeah I think Thabo will keep a healthy distance from the NYPD in the future. Making that safe distance part of his offseason workout mantra. It is nice that his defense is still so tight a this stage of his career. Looks like he will be playing several more years even though he will turn 33 next season. We aren't considered very tough as a team but Thabo's defensive play is definitely tough.
  23. Agreeing with you both. Seeing Dennis and Edy as a tandem in the NBA playing like what they did a couple of years ago in the summer league would be fun to watch. Up and down the court and Edy scoring off a pass no one else could get up high enough to reach. Really we wouldn't be discussing this this so much if his team overseas had not been about to offer Edy a big and long term contract and out of fear we signed him to four years at that time. So that is a very big part of his being green, he hadn't developed enough with his limited experience. Just didn't know when or if we would have ever gotten him here.
  24. A most excellent signature Dnice. Respect to all forms of Hawks's linage being a fan of this year or the fifties and anything in-between.
  25. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15751327/houston-rockets-finalizing-deal-mike-dantoni Four year contract for a college style offense with no concept of any stopping power. How does this fit with what the Rockets have or does it even matter for D'Antoni in the NBA. No defense Harden has shown he can't get them there. Playoffs require intense play at both ends of the court. Morey strikes again to his and the Rockets future dismay. At least we have a coach with some sense of defense. Ours is highly rated if nothing else.
