  1. Really don't think to many Hawk's fans want Korver to start or garner the majority of minutes at SG. He serves a purpose with that strong three if his wrist is healthy. I do think he helps a great deal if healthy at both swing positions on minutes with a not too limited ceiling coming off the bench. Shooting threes well will always count for a lot and what the Cavs did to us from downtown is a perfect if not absurd example in the second round this year. Really hoping Hardaway can ease the minutes burden on Korver because we are not talking about a young and rising player in Korver and we have no idea if a hopefully three point shot improving Baze will be with us. Banking on his health staying true for us this upcoming season will be a positive both in the regular season and when it counts most, the playoffs.
  2. Looking at your Milwaukee Hawks banner and found out Petit was rookie of the year for them before they moved to St. Louis. So I'm guessing you are a Hawks historian or a bit older than me. The second half of their first season in St. Louis was the year I was born (1956). Will follow our Hawks till the day I kick with the expectation of a title at some point.
  3. I know this not part of the Teague and Lowry comparison but that expression right there is a Caddyshack moment. To fun to pass up. Turd in the pool or just a Baby Ruth.
  4. I've got to admit I never figured Donovan would have so much impact especially in the playoffs. During the regular season there were so many acclamation pains for the team. A doggone rookie coach in the WCF! College coaches jumping to the NBA are such a wild card and seem to have a pretty consistent failure rate. A really stunning run they are on.
  5. A fair amount of road rage on this thread about glove size. Maybe Kevin Willis should be invited to decide the winner of this battle.
  6. Not saying their not adults. The coach made a politically correct team statement and I would be very surprised if he really is okay with it. Wouldn't expect him to throw his players under the bus for the media to swallow up. The ECF is on the line. After two big wins they got blown out and didn't look like they belonged on the same court. Our own coach Bud didn't throw Jeff under the bus after he didn't play him in closing minutes against the Cavs. Nine nine percent of the time coaches play political defense to avoid making a possible situation worse.
  7. Feel like that is the biggest likelihood. Since we probably keep Al we would need to finally dump Moose to sign Humph. Seems like Humph would be good insurance for Tiago's health and Scott's going cold from the field or possible legal issues. Do something for a size and two way performance increase at SF.
  8. Don't know if his hip was affecting him for the first part of the season or not. I do know a calf strain caused him to miss time early on. Assuming he was ever healthy last year he still didn't play over twenty minutes in any of the games I watched. Seems like Murphy's Law bit us on that trade even though I liked it when we made it.
  9. Last year it was Thabo and Pero for us with a whole lot of drama added to it by the NYPD. This year DMC and Cory Joseph at a casino at 2:00 AM during the ECF. I realize we are talking about adults but still decision making off the court during the Raptor's best run in the playoffs looks as important as the decisions during the actual games. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/242028/DeMarre-Carroll-Cory-Joseph-Spotted-In-Casino-At-200-AM-Before-Game-5
  10. So the Grizzles canned a solid coach in Joerger because of several moments of a strained relationship with the FO. The FO cut off their nose to spite their face with this move and to boot don't hire a veteran head coach that would at least maintain some hope for the playoffs. They have so many questions to deal with over the future roster. Dumping all this on a new guy will be a crazy difficult test.
  11. I understand Noah is so much better than Tiago but the circumstances are eerily similar with the injury histories. We don't know how many games a year he has left in him beginning at age 32 next season and then we would have to keep his minutes low to begin with because the more minutes he plays with his great hustle there is a bunch more risk. Not sure what future salary he is able to command now but he made over thirteen million this year.
  12. I should have added that even though the Cavs don't have a title they sure seem to have the NBAs front office's support. So is Cinderella the right term? Probably not.
  13. The NBA hierarchy can still get what they want but at the very least we have a crazy competitive final four of the NBA. Its absolutely great! Everybody is a Cinderella if they don't have the one trophy that counts. Three out of four fighting to break that label right now. Just a great time of year!
  14. Patterson's history with us has been pretty weird. He starts off in Turkey getting experience and somewhat getting his weight down. This year he ended up on the court early with us because of vision, decision making and dropping weight though his position was not defined as to what guard spot he would be used at. Seems obvious he is a SG. Ended up being a third string and NBDL SG with a very broken perimeter shot. Whoever we draft will be bigger and probably a SF but it still puts more pressure on Lamar to even make the roster. Our first rounder wether Bembry or not probably will get a decent amount of important developmental minutes and hopefully more important than that this upcoming season. I think Patterson's minutes will be elsewhere.
  15. Thinking that we would be in a very good place if a healthy Korver is coming off the bench at either swing position with a ceiling on his minutes. Thabo's defense and hopefully Hardaway's improved three would be covering the other bench minutes. How much more can we really improve or even consider investing more of our cap for towards our pine other than the draft?
  16. Thinking about how Korver and Thabo could give us very diverse quality minutes off the bench. A healthy Korver could really stretch the floor against backups no doubt. Depending on who we're playing opposing starters as well. I will be surprised if anyone does question wether his off season dedication to getting ready is outstanding this summer with no rehab involved. Thabo showed against J.R. Smith how good his one on one defense still is even though these are not his prime years. He showed we need him on the roster. I like them both.
  17. Yeah, Draymond is participating in the wrong sport. Not enough foot to nads contact for him in basketball.
  18. Since he is a center that can play both ends of the court, OKC is probably thinking of him as very long term. As much as he helps them it doesn't necessarily show up in the stats with big numbers. He doesn't ever seem to play thirty minutes in a game though. Would think Kanter's defense would cause Adams to play more. Anyway he has really worked out and is costing less than three million this year.
  19. Let's us know how incredibly large the revenue of the NBA is when "any above average starter" can be offered a max contract.
  20. Wow, OKC in the first half were absolute world beaters. Westbrook makes me feel foolish for beefing about his turnovers and shooting percentage most of this season. Last night he was a Ferrari.
  21. Thoughts and prayers for Mr. Jaybird's full recovery and a great future.
  22. Yeah an over reaction of some magnitude by me. I certainly don't see Al hitting the downward spiral Josh has seen. Don't think selfish will ever be used in the same sentence as Al.
  23. Just curious when does anyone think Dana White and Kiki get together to sanction a Draymond Green and Stipe Miocic battle. Stipe punches well but Draymond kicks ever so well.
  24. The die was cast when our not so beloved ex commish David Stern stated "We protect our stars". The same theme still prevails. The NBA front office needs to stop asking the retailing sponsors what the right call is.
  25. A not so positive similarity of Al acting like a SG was when Josh always thought he was the one and only Magic on a fast break. Al might not present as big a set of problems as Josh consistently caused but we are not talking about a 15 million a year for three years offer either. Wonder if the owners truly see it the same as Bud does. Koonin's recent comments make me wonder just a bit.
