Official Game Thread: Cavaliers at Hawks GAME 3
Thomas replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
The Cavs do just seem comfortable against us. Still, our minutes distribution burned us again in the end.- 106 replies

Horf going to be a Hawk next season? or no?

The FO seems satisfied with winning fifty games or so and then getting abused by LeBron and company in the playoffs. What will the new ownership do? Probably keep the status quo. -

So Bud has become like our PGs of the regular season in that he is very up and down. Hump did well but Bud stopped using him late. Is this the same coach we had last year during the regular season? Posters talk about his being stubborn a lot. He does develop players well but there is seems to be a ceiling on his coaching. Of course the Cavs shooting has a lot to do with that right now.- 106 replies

Teague, Thabo and Humph played pretty well (our big three,Ha). Jaybird was right on about Thabo being on the court whenever J.R. was. Bud made that adjustment and J.R. shot hardly at all. When the Cavs start rolling like that it's kinda scary. Jeepers.- 106 replies

If we grab some rebounds we should win. They have twice as many rebounds than us. Thabo leading with four but were are scrapping.- 106 replies

Thank goodness, I started feeling ill till you straightened me out just now.

Jenkins averaged eleven minutes a game and scored four points a game. Not even a crazy expanding cap explains a 39 mil contract. Someone is making a serious mistake. Sounds like April's Fool.
-
Unreal. The guy is hurt a lot and when he's on the court he's just not particularly good. He will average over 16 mil a year? I remember when the hawks talked about him but drafted Jenkins.
-
Couldn't agree with you more. We know we are going to have Tiago and Edy on the roster at C. I would be very surprised at someone else wanting to trade for Tiago. He is damaged goods and had nagging injuries before we got him. Humph would be a positive in the front court.
-
Assuming Scott can play next season (hopefully) maybe we can sign Humph and let Moose go. There is more expense, I think he is pro rated at 4 mil right now. With the way he has bounced from team to team lately I wonder if he is in that same pay range next year. Once again the new cap could ruin this idea. He does help with one glaring weakness we have.
-
So for the Squawkers that do think we should keep Baze. How much would you pay him wether Al is back or not? I understand that Al's staying with us would affect how much we could give Baze. I'm not really able to comprehend the massive increase in the new cap for all the teams. Crazy money.
-
Sort of reminds of when Orlando destroyed us in the playoffs with Howard inside and the threes reigning in. Stan Van Gundy was their coach then.
-
Sounds like anything to win a series, huh.
-
Hoping Dennis turns into a high level every game PG for our future but right now trading Teague or Milsap looks like a big mistake. Like Jody said it does not make sense for another team to trade good value for a rental anyway. In this case Denver.
-
Your so right DS17. The main Cav crys to the refs all the time. All of them will probably cry if we show up in force. LeBron gets away with charges constantly no matter who their playing. Last game he took the night off from begging the refs because of our horrible showing. Show up Hawks!
-
Didn't realize teams have already shown interest in Baze. So I guess we coach them up and others reap the benefits of a more developed player.
-
When their coach Lue played for the Lakers he was a hard hacking type of PG. He fouled Iversen a lot and really hard and kind of rubbing it in that he was getting away with it during the finals one year. It was talked about back then. Maybe its OK with him to rub in no matter what the situation.
-
Haven't noticed if Humphries has played more twenty minutes in one of our games this year. Does anyone think he could handle heavier minutes with a lot of them against Thompson. That would keep Sap on LeBron. You wouldn't have a forty pound difference in the SF matchup that way.
-
Their FO is now somewhat different so maybe they are going to look for trades and free agents versus drafting nineteen year olds. Covington could give some offensive help to us.
-
I think Humphries would welcome battling for rebounds against Thompson or anybody. Would anyone else on our team?
-
Seems like Howard belongs on reality tv these days. Diva causing locker room stress. Al has flaws but he does not act like Howard so I think he is a better fit for us.

Official Game Thread: Hawks at Cavaliers GAME 2

Big difference in J.R. in NY and in Cleveland. He acted like a twelve year old and was a distraction in NY. But now he is shooting lights out. Does LeBron have that much positive effect on head cases? Was J.R. this good of a shooter in Denver?- 120 replies

Thinking that Humphries is the only guy we have that would really mix it up with someone. Maybe Thabo if someone gets after him.- 120 replies

KG you make a strong point on what age these guys are when we start developing them for our system. DMC already had the hustle defense rep when we got him. Truly don't know what Baze can command but if a team becomes desperate probably more money than we will pay. I really like his hustle and with continued improving of his shooting and decreasing the turnovers (needs to happen now) I hope to keep him for the future at SG. The gamble is will he improve at his age like you talked about.
