  1. Is it as simple as role players playing better at home than on the road? This is essentially a role player game.
  2. Bucks miss a 3 and run down long rebounds. Hawksiss a 3 and they just running to other end.
  3. This game is as infuriating as Game 3. Too much dumb shit happening on top of poor effort for large stretches of the game. It's like the game is dangling out there for the Hawks to win and they refuse to take it.
  4. Offensively they have 3 zeros on the court too much between Lou, Clint, and JC who's 50/50 whether hes a zero or a 10. No offensive flow. No nothing.
  5. This game is immensely winnable but the Hawks need to get their heads out of their collective hindsides. No interior defense No effort on the boards Careless passes Portis outworking the entire team And JC.....thus is his time. Gotta show up and show out.
  6. JC wants aax deal then f'n play like it when your star is done. This is his time and he shrinks. SMH
  7. What in the absolute hell is John Collins doing because he sure as heck isnt helping??
  8. Was thinking the same thing. I'd just like to see him be a consistent defensive nuisance and show restraint on the offensive end. I'm fine with him shooting and trying to be involved offensively, but I don't want to see him force things. So no reckless drives to the bucket where he's just as likely to turn it over as get a shot up. And if his shot is off, I'd rather he just focus on being the defensive stopper that he absolutely can be. Defensive aggression, offensive restraint is my preferred plan for Cam.
  9. That is THE question isn't it? Because how much more prolific would the Hawks be offensively if they got the same level of playmaking and production from the regulars WITH Trae as they got last night without Trae? Consider (in the playoffs): Trae passes the ball 55.2 times per game in the playoffs and generates assists on 17.3% of those passes (9.5 ast). The Hawks score 23.3 pts off of Trae's 9.5 asts (2.45 pts per ast). The rest of the team passes the ball 215 times per game and generates assists on 5.6% of those passes (12.1 ast). The Hawks score 32 pts off of these 12.1 asts (2.64 pts per ast). LAST NIGHT, however, the rest of the team generated essentially the same number of total passes (267 vs 270 with Trae) and generated assists on 9.7% of those passes (26 asts). The Hawks scored 67 pts off of those 26 asts (2.58 pts per ast). In raw numbers, the non-Trae regulars (in the playoffs) generated 11 points MORE last night off of assists than those same players do when Trae plays (calculated as 2.58 pts per asts times the difference in total asts when Trae plays vs last night - 4.4 more asts last night). Now, some of the above is Trae taking up opportunities when he plays. BUT, if the regulars would just convert passes into assists at a similar rate as they did last night (9.7% instead of their usual 5.6%), even after adjusting for fewer passes when playing with Trae, we're talking about an additional 8.8 asts per game for the regulars (calculated as 215 passes X 9.7% ast rate = 20.9 asts which is 8.8 more than their avg of 12.1 ast per game). And at 2.58 pts per ast , that's an additional 22.7 pts per game. My question is why can't the regulars play this well along side Trae? Do they all tend to watch what Trae does instead of being assertive themselves? If they would just convert passes to assists at even a slightly higher rate, this team would be nearly impossible to stop offensively. And in light of all that, thinking about Trae converting 17.3% of his passes into assists is just mind boggling.
  10. Yeah...I wasn't knocking you. Just the title of the video.
  11. Watched the first few minutes. The headline is "Coach Nate McMillan Gives Trae Young & Clint Capela Updates" First question: Coach, can you give an updated on Trae and Clint? Answer: I don't. I have not gotten an update from our trainers. I mean, did he say something later in the video? Otherwise that's kinda ridiculous heading.
  12. Man I hope this is just the beginning for Bogi and not just a blip. Hawks nearly impossible to stop of they have Trae and Bogi scoring.
  13. Cam is so so good defensively. And just as raw offensively.
  14. Bucks are fine with Hawks jacking 3s every possession. Even if they make a few early it won't last all game. Gotta get into the paint somehow.
  15. Good beginning. Keep the pressure on them defensively. Don't let up.
  16. Now that would be so NEXT LEVEL trolling if Jeff Teague was actually a poster on here AND posting during games this series. I would have new found respect for Teague Time. LOL
  17. I don't think any of the players are giving up or conceding. So I'm not sure I get your point. Yes, you play to win now as nothing is guaranteed in the future. But if they don't win now without Trae, are you going to say the roster is a failure or that this season is a failure? That's sort of what it sounds like and that would be a completely ridiculous take. The Hawks are the underdogs WITH Trae and you expect them to march to a NBA Title WITHOUT him?? Come on. That's a single game. Not a whole series plus the Finals.
  18. My take - and precisely why I have "fallen off the ledge" - is that the Bucks have so many more options than the Hawks do at the moment considering Bogie is still struggling and now Trae is hurt. Clint and JC at the rim have been all but eliminated given the Bucks size on the interior. And they need Trae doing his thing anyway. Without Trae, there is no flow to the offense. Even WITH Trae it sometimes falters if he's not hitting his floater and making good decisions. I just think the Hawks are too banged up compared to a fully healthy Bucks team. They have more weapons and more options. It feels an awful lot like the Knicks series in reverse where the Bucks just have so many more options that scoring is easy. If one guy is off, another just steps up. With the Hawks, where are the options? They are mostly hurt or playing poorly. IF Trae is 100% effective AND Bogie is hitting AND JC is on AND Gallo AND Huerter etc.... That's what the Hawks need to be successful right now. I just don't see it for 3 out of 4 games.
  19. Hawks have gotten out worked by Bucks each of last 2 games.
  20. Meh....your opinions are constantly negative and pessimistic. I don't buy into the dark cloud stuff over all of our players not named Trae. Hunter is plenty good to be the 2. And the bench would be significantly better if Hunter and Cam were healthy too.
  21. Now this is some real bull . Hawks are IN the finals this year if Hunter and Bogie are healthy. They'll be in contention for years to come if they stay healthy.
  22. Yeah, I got my time wrong. The point still remains. It wasn't the refs fault they lost. They can't overcome Trae being hobbled, Bogie giving nothing, getting out worked on the boards, etc... Just too much. I'm not just calling game. I'm calling SERIES. Especially if Trae isn't the superstar due to the ankle. It's been fun, but I think it's over. Would love for you to get to ridicule me in the NBA finals though.
  23. Even with Nate the Hawks don't make the playoffs if Trae isn't on his game. Not beating the Bucks may be the understatement of the year.
  24. The refs sucked sure but the Hawks still led by 7 with 4 to play. They didn't defend, got out worked all night on the boards, and got nothing from Bogie. Once Trae got hurt there was zero offense. Better hope he's right for Game 4 or it's going to get ugly. Thats just the reality right now. We miss Hunter terribly and need the Bogie from the last half of the year to show up.
  25. Like I said. Nice run. Wish it were different but got out worked all night and with Trae hurt, Bogie hobbling, it just is what it is.
