  1. Well that's a good way to lose by 40. LOL.
  2. The dam broke. The others are getting whatever they want now.
  3. Bout to get run out their own gym. Fun season though.
  4. I'll also say that my philosophy or strategy would be to accept that Embiid is going to get his and try to take away the others. Limit Harris, don't let Kirkman or Milton's Curry get going. That is, imo, the best recipe for success. The Hawks have taken the opposite approach and basically not guarded anyone other than Embiid. But what happens when Embiid plays like the superstar he is and drains shots over the double team? Now you got the others going AND Embiid is scoring. Not good imo.
  5. How many times has Gallo fouled guys on a break instead of playing defense this year? And he chooses THIS game to NOT foul the one guy who's shooting 30% FT and instead gave him a wide open layup? Once again, these guys just make some incredibly dumb plays.
  6. This looks like the Knicks series only in reverse. Philly just playing with the Hawks. Nothing we can do about it either.
  7. I said it last game and I'll say it again....a lot of really dumb play so far. What's the point of taking a quick shot at the end of the quarter if it gives Philly a full 24 seconds? Why the hell do you foul a 3pt shooter? Hiw do you leave Dwight free to collect rebounds and put backs?
  8. Well the alternative is to let him walk for nothing or hope he takes a hometown discount. I don't see the latter happening and I think the former would set the team back too much. Someone's going to offer him more than he's probably worth. Hawks either match or let him walk. I'd match and hope one of 2 things happens. Either 1, JC continues to evolve and becomes a playmaker with a handle that justifies the contract OR 2, they find a trade in the future that makes sense and nets them a reasonable return.
  9. The problem I have with JC is the same as I've always said about him, he requires someone else to feed him for him to have any impact on the game whatsoever. And even then, he just disappears far too often. In the postseason order of business, I would extend Kevin before I even worried about JC. I think Kevin is way more important to the long term health and success of this franchise than JC is. And he's proven that in these first 7 games of the playoffs. The only problem I have with just letting JC walk is they wouldn't have any money to replace him and they still need a 4. JC isn't worthless, he's just not overly impactful, to me. So I guess for me, the proper play is exactly what @thecampster said to do, match whatever the market says and then try to trade him in a year for someone that makes more sense on this roster. I don't hate JC, I just don't think he's impactful at all.
  10. The good news is the Hawks have home court now and they play really really well at home. Also, role players like Milton, Curry, Green, Korkmaz, etc... typically don't play as well on the road. So I still think they have a chance, but they need to continue to shoot well at home and play reasonably good defense.
  11. I'm deflated. Was holding out hope that with a few extra days he'd be ready for Games 3 and 4. I really hope the team isn't deflated from this news. They still have a chance to get past Philly, but dang it's going to be hard. I'd start Tony but give him limited minutes and get Huerter in quickly. Something like this... Trae - 40 min Lou - 10 min Bogie - 40 min Kev - 40 min Tony - 14 min
  12. I wasn't suggesting that you ignore what Luka and Trae have done. I was saying ignoring Cam being the "other" lottery pick. Knowing what we know about Luka and Trae, I'd do the trade again every day even without knowing that we'd get Cam. I was just trying to point out that Cam is NOT the reason the trade still works for me.
  13. Per NBA/com/stats..... Hawks Pace from Game 1 though February 28 when LP was fired: 99.67 (16th in the NBA) Hawks Pace from March 1 through end of season: 97.80 (22nd in NBA) Hawks Pace in Playoffs: 97.00 (8th among PO teams) Either the TNT dudes were wrong or you heard them wrong. Nate definitely slowed the pace down in general. Now, I know they did say that they got too slow in Game 1 and needed to play faster, but the data is clear that the overall PACE is slower under Nate than LP.
  14. If I could like this 100 times I would. The fact that Dre is "sore" and not playing while Embiid has a tear and is playing is just infuriating when you see how the game plays out. We desperately need him. Wasn't he in that hype video they put out earlier? If he's practicing and a "game time decision" the decision better be to play.
  15. Disappointing. This game was right there. Took their best shot and were within 4 when Trae sat down at end of 3. Missed opportunity for sure.
  16. I still think they have an answer in them. Next few minutes will be key though. Trae likely going to need to make a few shots and take over.
  17. Too many dumb f'n plays man. Why the hell is Lou not holding the the last shot? Why is JC fouling out at the 3 pt line? Why did Kev foul on a layup? Just dumbassery
  18. Hunter's status is frustrating me. Especially when contrasted with Embiid who has a minor tear and still plays.
  19. I really hope you are right, but I gotta say....I'm expecting the sixers very best effort from the jump. Nothing comes easy tonight. Gotta withstand the early run and keep it close. Hawks gotta play their best as well. None of this 3 guys shooting poorly stuff. Limit turnovers, make shots, and defend like crazy. I'm hopeful though I'm still expecting a 1-1 series heading to ATL.
  20. Seems like SAS is on the Hawks / Trae bandwagon........for now.
  21. I thought there were a few non-calls that should have gone against the Sixers late in the game. One was Seth Curry pushing off on his corner 3. And one was Trae's turnover at midcourt. The other was Bogie getting abused on the takedown.
  22. So to summarize.... Ben says he wants to come out fouling Trae more and see if the refs will allow it in Game 2. Trae needs to put him in foul trouble early on Tuesday.
  23. First 4 min of the 4th will tell the tale. Gotta avoid giving them life.
  24. Gotta answer the run that's coming in the second half. Can't give them momentum. Also, never forget that dang Clippers game. Finish them!!!
