  1. LP is extremely personable and is an excellent communicator. I'm guessing he interviews very well. Explaining last year's lack of success won't be a problem either due to roster limitations, but he's going to have to figure out a way to explain this season. The fact that Nate took the same team he coached to 12-19 and went 29-12 is a real negative, imo.
  2. Doh! I knew I shoulda looked it up. I was thinking Thursday. Well, at least Philly would no longer have a rest advantage.
  3. Well well well, the Wiz came through. Now if the Hawks can end it Wednesday they'll have a rest advantage over Philly. Good stuff.
  4. Wizards are worthless man. They can't board even without Embiid in the game. They can't hit open shots either.
  5. Philly gonna be tough in the 2nd rd. They got tons of weapons to go along with Embiid.
  6. TNT is SOOOO much better than ESPN. Just sayin. Good half. Love seeing the swarming defense. Trae doing Trae things. Can we say Playoff Trae is a thing yet? Guys gotta keep hitting their shots and we good. Trae will hit them open.
  7. No body booing at Trae so he's not as hot shooting yet.
  8. Bogi gotta be big at home. Gotta make these open 3s
  9. As you said though, context matters. Time and situation matter. How much time is left? Who has momentum in the game? Have your teammates been hot or ice cold? What's the score? All of that matters for this discussion imo. If we are late in the game and the Knicks are on a run and pulling away AND all your shooters are ice cold, then I'd rather put the ball in your best players hands and see what happens. I'll live with the results. And that doesn't mean he has to take a 30 footer with 2 guys draped on him. It could mean driving to the lane and forcing a foul. Trying a floater. Mayne give the ball up and come off a screen for a catch and shoot. But in that situation, Trae has a better chance to win the game than continuing to go back to ice cold shooters, even IF they are wide open. I just don't think great players deferring to cold, open shooters late in the game in the pressure packed playoffs is a winning strategy.
  10. My biggest concern tonight is the rotations. If Nate is going to be stubborn about minutes and not staggering the bench then we could be in trouble. we can't go 4 and 5 minute stretches with Trae / Bogie both on the bench.
  11. Exactly. The last few minutes of the game are when the superstar should be looking for his own shot. And besides, how many times has Trae been criticized for NOT riding the hot hand in games? Well last night (and both really) HE was the hot hand while everyone else was ice cold. And no, @JeffS17 we don't KNOW they will continue to miss, but when you have Trae shooting 50% for the game and Bogie shooting 2-13, Hunter shooting 3-8, and Gallo 2-10 the odds are pretty good that Trae is going to have more success than the others late in the game when the pressure is on. Everything we've seen from Trae says he rises to the pressure rather than shrink from it. 1 shot in 5 minutes just isn't a winning strategy, imo.
  12. I'm not advocating he forget his teammates all together, just saying when the game is on the line and the teammates can't throw it in the ocean, I'm OK with him playing hero in the last few minutes of the game. Even if he misses he's doing no worse than his teammates. I just think Trae creating and getting a shot up is a higher % play in some cases than continuing to go to the same guys that miss time after time. At some point, it's just not their night. ON this team, Bogie is probably the only guy that I would say could be cold as ice and still drain a late shot. The rest though? Nah.
  13. Lotta misses those last 5 minutes. But what I see more than anything else is this: Bogi - 3 Shots Hunter - 4 Shots Capela - 1 Shot Young - 1 Shot Last 5 minutes of a HUGE game, this can't happen. I understand getting teammates involved. I understand trusting these guys. I understand they were open. But after an entire half of pathetic shooting from the entire team (other than Young), I need my superstar to say F it, this is MY game now and take over. I felt like he could score at will during each of the 2 games. Even his miss, I think, rimmed out. I'm fine with getting teammates involved early on. He has to do that for the team to be successful. But the last 5 minutes, the last 2 minutes, whatever the game dictates needs to be Trae Time. That's what superstars do when they sense the game getting away from their team. They take over. Trae dominated for 2.5 quarters and then got passive. That can't happen.
  14. Bull-f'n-$&*+ This is the playoffs and you had a golden chance to go up 2-0 with the next 2 at home. If 40-yr old Derrick Rose can play 39 min Trae can play more than 35.
  15. JC 0-2 CC 2-5 DG 2-10 10 points on 17 shots in 81 min. Just pitiful man.
  16. I figured they'd lose but damn after the 1st half they should have won.
  17. Lou f'n Williams. Say it with me people... HE'S NOT A PG. Get him out of the game.
  18. Can't let them back in the game. Need a little run here.
  19. Trae tied to do too much. Shoulda just shot the floater.
