  1. It'll be very difficult to replace ZaZa because of the limited options that we'll have. Anderson Varejao started 42 games this season and will have a big price tag. I doubt Anderson plans to come off our bench behind a smaller player like Al Horford. Sund needs to focus on the best way to contain players like Dwight Howard who will easily dominate the East and the Southeast division for many years. Anderson has proven he's no match against Dwight and he struggled against him during both the regular season and playoffs.
  2. The suites need this badly and I can't wait to see what they look like after they make them over.
  3. It's still the playoffs, so why did you feel the need to create this topic? Let the draft happen and post this at the earliest during free agency. Out of the "Teams we definitely have to worry about:" Detroit will have some new additions and as of right now they're set to be one of the worse teams if they don't sign or trade for some proven talent.
  4. Amare is basically preparing for when he comes a free agent after next season if he decides to opt out of his contract. He mentioned New York this past week. I doubt Phoenix plans on paying Amare max money to keep him, so they need to trade him, or just let him walk when he decides his fate.
  5. If I'm Joe, I need to see more progress with the organization. The team has so many free agents, some key, but some that need to be replaced with upgrades to get us past the second round. If Marvin is signed or matched he needs to take on a bigger role, or else we need to S&T him. Very few players can open Joe up on this team and Marvin is one of them, but Coach Woodson seems to fail to notice that. One of the biggest issues is not having any real size on the team and ZaZa is a free agent. Depending on his price I would like to see him back, but expect Sund to pursue options that make us stronger inside and more athletic. Joe will possibly once again be an All-Star next season, but I won't give him the benefit of the doubt if he's the same ole "Joe" so it's time for him to take his game to another level. If he actually considers himself the leader of this team like he's referred to all the time he needs to show it. Joe won't get any all-star votes from me until I see a difference.
  6. If Joe considers himself a max player he won't be playing here after next season. He'll also soon find out that his options are going to be very limited, because I doubt many teams would be willing to offer him that type of money, but I expect his agent to be smart enough to know that. Sund needs to be prepared for very difficult contract talks and also prepared to go a different direction if Joe's not willing to realize his actual value.
  7. Well, I believe the chances are very slim that Josh Smith gets traded, but that doesn't mean within the next four seasons he's not moved. It's going to depend on how he does during the upcoming season and how much Al Horford develops. We'll never know exactly what we have with Al until he plays the 4. You can see how well he does against 5's his size, but against the taller and more bulky 5's he has a big disadvantage. For Al to get an advantage on the bigger centers he'll need to follow what Dwight Howard's workout and increase his speed. Al Horford's value is far from being high right now. He didn't perform well during the playoffs and he's only going to be looked at as potiential. Al won't acquire us Brook Lopez, not even close, and Brook has proven he's capable of being an All-Star center during the future. I fully expect Mike Bibby to be back next season. Not because of Sund, but because we have a limited amount of options, and Mike Bibby is the easily way to fill our point guard need.
  8. Mo Evans: We have him one more year guaranteed at a very fair price. If we trade him to Portland I would like to see us acquire Steve Blake. Jason Terry: That's a three year investment for a combo guard that doesn't play defense. We are better offer getting younger and finding a cheaper option. You said Charlotte, but I believe you mean Toronto. Kyle Korver may opt out of his contract with Utah and is the better option. If we move Marvin to Toronto it needs to be for Jose or Chris Bosh. Marvin can't be traded until free agency starts and it's unclear if he wants to play outside the United States. Mike Bibby: Why on earth would he agree to play for Minny?
  9. Amare does make sense and he may like the Eastern Conference type better. His defense has never been all that great, but by playing under our system it should improve, and overall I don't see many negatives. The biggest negatives are that his defense is limited and I doubt he gets along with Coach Woodson.
  10. Avery Johnson would be an excellent fit for this team. I'd like for us to strongly consider him, but theres still other options. The Mike Fratello has been going on for years now and it needs to stop.
  11. The local Detroit NBC affiliate has reported that Rasheed Wallace has announced he will retire. Link
  12. This is the first year the Falcons are doing this and I am looking forward to it.
  13. Steven Hunter does nothing for me and I question his ability to be productive. We need to pursue other options and not even consider Steven.
  14. Deke will one day have his jersey retired with Atlanta and Denver. He's also a future HOF'er and he's going to be missed. *Waves a finger for Deke*
  15. It's very difficult to find tickets for face value to game one, so it's not likely anyone will find those at this point, but ticketmaster still have tickets for game two. Good luck to everyone.
  16. I wonder if Billy Knight will get invited to the baby shower?
  17. Acie has enough upside to support him being on the team. We don't need to move him right now and especially not for someone like Chris Mihm. I just see it being a pointless move and it could easily come back to haunt us. As of right now we have very little options at the point, so Acie needs to stay, because face it he's the second option right now for the future, if Mike Bibby doesn't sign an extension.
  18. Devin Harris didn't have the freedom with Dallas that he has with New Jersey. That's one of the reasons why he's producing so much and he's more comfortable. He doesn't have Dirk chewing him out all the time and his game has hit a new level. I'm very happy for him. Acie Law doesn't look comfortable when he's on the court and I don't necessary believe it's due to Coach Woodson. Acie Law is also being bench for some reason unknown and it's been a trend with Woodson during the past. It might be due to him not being secure when he's on the court or Woodson just doesn't like how his practices are going. If Acie ever wants to be as productive as Devin, he needs to play like Devin did while playing behind a shadow, and have the ability to take his game to the next level when he can put the shadows behind him. I hope that makes some sense.
  19. How does the radio stations benefit by helping the Atlanta Hawks? The Atlanta Hawks win and it leaves the radio stations with nothing. Theres just going to be a very limited amount of pub from the radio stations, unless they plan on being around or at the arena, and that's not going to happen if a deals not struck. If the ASG wants free advertisement it's not going to happen. I'm starting to see some billboards around the highways, but theres not exactly pointed directly at the highway, so there angled, and that tells me the marketing section have a limited amount of resources. I don't think the people of Atlanta are cheap, I just feel there are so many things they can do, and watching the Atlanta Hawks isn't a first priority.
  20. Atlanta has helped Mike Bibby's career just as much as he's helped the Atlanta Hawks. I hope theres an understanding between the two and that both parties realize a deal needs to happen. However, if the seats aren't get filled, I'm going to fully understand why the Atlanta Spirit Group will opt to letting Mike walk or seek a SNT.
  21. New Jerseys know how to beat us and we need to figure out how to beat them. I realize we have a big lead, but it doesn't matter, because we didn't finish against with it, and even worse we didn't win. We can't allow teams to shut us out like this and expect to beat them during the playoffs.
  22. Kevin Willis @ Discover Mills Dominique Wilkins @ North Point Mall Solo was behind me at Wendy's at the CNN building.
  23. Quote: Does AJ and Solo get minutes on this team? AJ can't shoot, he's slow, and can't run an offense. There is a reason he is a journeyman. From watching the preseason games live, I believe Solo needs to continue to learn, and I don't believe his teammates can't fully trust him. While I the court saw both Josh Smith and Joe Johnson go up to Solo, as if they were giving him words of encouragement. Solo looks rather nervous to me.
  24. Quote: If the draft lottery fix does not take PTL down.. What would you think of this draft day trade? #1 overall/Jarrett Jack for Marvin/our second round pick. Portland is so high on Jack and Tyrus Thomas or Lamarcus I don’t see them accepting.
  25. I'm going to stay away from the PS3 and Nintendo will most likely get my money. I already own a Xbox 360 which I bought from a crack head for just over $100 with all the extras.
