  1. Well, you know what that old Folgers commercial use to say... 'The best part of waking up, is Knick tears in your cup...'
  2. It's like watching the Zapruder film, but in a good way. Oh BTW, tell Frank Ntilikina to smile at the camera and wait for the flash. 'Out and back, out and back, out and back, out and....'
  3. Somewhere in NYC, Dominique would've killed to have the kind of skill players on his teams while in his prime that Trae has riding shotgun with him right now. Yes, it's a different game and era but do you see Randy Wittman or Snoop Graham getting major minutes on this team?
  4. Burks (who I said before the series to look out for) doesn't channel his inner Kobe in the 4th without that crowd behind him. Hawks win by double digits...
  5. I noticed. Bogdanovic just looks like a dude that you don't want to be owing $$$ to. Nothing remotely good could come from it...
  6. In the words of Morgan Freeman from Shawshank Redemption... 'And just like that, the New York Knicks, their fans, and the national media sadly realized that they have a serious problem on their hands...' That place was silenced like Alderaan was by the Death Star...
  7. We all know that the fix is in and they know that we know that they'll do anything to get NYC into the second round. And with a good portion of the national media hating our guts anyway, they'll gloss over the bad officiating like one would over an expired coupon...
  8. As most of us expected, there will be no playoff games on PAX, IFC, Viceland, Lifetime, or NBA-TV. Hope they're ready for America's close-up...
  9. Agreed. When you have 14 of 16 'experts' favoring a team to win over the other with identical records, along with just about everyone who aren't Hawk fans talking about how much better the league is now that the Knicks are relevant again, what does that tell you? If you don't think that the national folks aren't salivating over a Knicks-Sixers second round matchup, there's some swampland in Florida I'd gladly sell to you at a discount. They want absolutely nothing to do with having to mention the Hawks on the air other than them getting stomped out. Them's the facts. They will have to win by double digits in MSG to avoid a Montreal Screwjob-esque finish up there. I wouldn't be surprised if the NBA assigned one of the Hebner brothers as one of the officials.
  10. The fact that most of them said 'Knicks in 6' irritates me because that means that they'd clinch down here instead of in Game 7. We'll see soon enough...
  11. You don't have to remind me, I watched all four games and felt worse after each one of them. Years ago when he was still working for ESPN, Bill Simmons wrote a column that he dubbed the 'levels of losing' that I still have a copy of and rewrote into my own version. Level IX is the Full-Fledged Butt Kicking... Level IX: The Full-Fledged Butt-Kicking Definition: Sometimes you can tell right away when it isn't your team's day. ... And that's the worst part, not just the epiphany but everything that follows -- every botched play; every turnover; every instance when someone on your team quits; every instance when a key player on your team goes to the bench and puts a towel over his head; every "deer in the headlights" look; every time an announcer says, "They just can't get anything going"; every shot of the opponents celebrating; every time you look at the score and think to yourself, "Well, if we score here, force a turnover, and get the ball back in good field position, maybe we'll get some momentum," but you know it's not going to happen, because you're already 30 points down with less than three minutes remaining. ... You just want it to end, you need for it to end, you loudly pray to the Lord himself for it to end and… IT WON’T END. But you can't look away. ... It's the sports fan's equivalent to a three-hour water boarding session. This is what we experienced in that Magic series, only that it took four games for it to be official. At least it ended quickly for Hornet fans...
  12. That was hard to watch. I couldn't fathom the feeling of being a Hornets fan right about now. To go out like that???
  13. Lol, I'm still eating crow on Trae. Every time I go to get a haircut at the barbershop, someone is always in there to say 'remember Trae Young? You said that you didn't like him...'. I've eaten crow fried, barbequed, blackened, baked, and put in an air fryer or Nu-wave oven...
  14. Officiating (or lack thereof) and how the Hawks handle that will play a huge role in the outcome of this series. Will they keep playing after one of their players get suplexed into the stands while the referees are doing their best Helen Keller impersonation?
  15. IMHO, the key to this series is not to allow Burks, Barrett, and/or Rose to become 'Robin'. By that, I mean that Randall is going to get his numbers. But the very last thing I want to see are either of those three hanging 20+ on the board on some high 3-pt FG percentage during the series and their team gaining confidence as the series goes on. I say force Randall into becoming the Lone Ranger without Tonto. If he's going to hang up 35+, make him do it by taking 35+ shots while keeping his cohorts in check. Lean on him and make him earn every point but don't allow those other guys open looks behind the arc...
  16. Almost nailed how they'd finish in the East as well. And I am waiting with baited breath to see Trae shut up the national folks on a grand scale...
  17. This game is a fine example of what a good team looking at bigger fish to fry (see Knickerbockers, New York) does to a bad team who have already reserved their dates on cruise boats over a month ago. A blowout victory with no injuries. Kongwu going off. Nathan hit a three. Even Bruno played. If I was in the building, I might have gotten in (nah). And most importantly, they made me and Jay look like Nostradamus and John the Revelator in our win predictions. The Hawks look ready and with them playing NYC, we are going to be on prime time. No NBA-TV or playoff games on Viceland or IFC. Time for our close-up...
  18. I want them to beat NYC just to see the look on Stephen A.'s face the following day as he laments about how the entire basketball world will miss the greatest 7-game series ever because they won't be there to play Philly in the next round. And to hear other national folks cry about there needing to be more rules about restricting Trae Young lobs into the paint, PNRs used in a ballgame, open threes taken and made...
  19. You're damn right. We knew it all along, lol. And a special shoutout to the Sixers for showing up tonight (note sarcasm)...
  20. Those are hilarious. The one he did of him and Dusty Rhodes years ago almost had me drive off of the road in laughter...
  21. That was damn near malfeasance to have Len on the court instead of Gafford. He was on pace for a career night and probably would've had one had he stayed in the game. But as they say, that's a them problem. Orlando is the top priority now...
  22. I said this a couple of weeks ago. These are the type of players we normally see other contending teams get, while our front office sits on their hands and brought in has-beens looking for one final payday before retiring. And what's really encouraging is that we still haven't seen them come close to playing at their full potential. Nearly half of this roster have been out with injuries. Hell, I have neckties older than KongWu and Reddish. If they bring the band back together for next season, lol, might as well start saving $$$ now for tickets. It's going to get might pricey in that 100-section. It has long been my prayer that this franchise didn't do to Trae what they did to Nique decades ago, which was fail to put real players on the roster to grow with him (Levingston, Carr, Battle, et al were role players; big difference). So far, that prayer is being answered. Because even with Nate Dogg now manning the con, there's no way this team wins 25 of 36 with the likes of Evan Turner, Jabari Parker, and Allan Crabbe riding shotgun on this roster...
  23. Where's the Delta Force and Seal Team Six when you need 'em? Lol...
  24. Watching the replay of the 4th, that was a a$$kicking that may have violated the Suns' 8th Amendment rights. If things were reversed, there wouldn't be anyone in the sports world feeling sorry about the Hawks being on the backend of a B2B on the road. I'm in no mood to hear about their sob story right about now. Just beat NYC...
  25. In the words of d*ck Stockton, if this was a fight, they'd stop it...
