  1. I'd do this deal IF we could bring in OG as well. Trae OG Hunter Lauri OO 6th: Bogi We'd be cooking with this lineup. You get your size, spacing for Trae, a big who can score....just about everything everyone on here has said we need to compete.
  2. Gut tells me Utah would demand JJ in any deal. 1 or 2 FRP's too.
  3. Probably a pipe dream...but if we could swing Lauri and OG to pair with Trae, we might be able to salvage this thing.
  4. https://sports.yahoo.com/how-the-trade-market-is-shaping-up-for-zach-lavine-lauri-markkanen-145142833.html "Lauri Markkanen has indeed emerged as a fascinating, albeit unlikely trade candidate before February’s buzzer. The Jazz held designs of further competing in the Western Conference after Markkanen emerged as an All-Star in his first season in Salt Lake City, league sources told Yahoo Sports, as Utah engaged Portland about acquiring Damian Lillard and then Jrue Holiday before this season tipped. Moving on from Markkanen would mark a stark change of direction from trying to add an All-NBA caliber point guard to run Utah’s offense alongside Markkanen’s versatile skill set. And yet the Jazz are mired in an 8-16 start, prompting several teams to phone Utah’s front office in order to gauge its willingness to move Markkanen, sources said. The Jazz are by no means expected to trade the 7-foot sharpshooter at this juncture. He’s been a true favorite of Jazz officials, sources said. But Utah has indeed left opposing executives with the sense that Markkanen is no longer untouchable in trade conversations, league sources told Yahoo Sports, a tangible change from previous transaction windows. Markkanen will be eligible to negotiate and extend his current contract before its final season begins in 2024-25. And there’s a sentiment among cap strategists that Utah perhaps won’t consider Markkanen’s next salary point a worthwhile cost if the Jazz are so far from the playoff picture with Markkanen as their best player. But it would surely take a massive haul for some team to pry the 26-year-old from the Jazz. “Do I expect Utah to trade Lauri? No,” another general manager told Yahoo Sports. “But they are saying they’re willing to listen. They are willing to listen to calls on everyone, but it’s a matter of meeting their price like Minnesota did for Rudy [Gobert].” “Everyone” is said to include veterans like Jordan Clarkson, Kelly Olynyk, John Collins, Collin Sexton and Talen Horton-Tucker, according to league sources, but not starting point guard and rookie standout Keyonte George. But Markkanen’s status already has and will continue generating significant buzz around the league if Utah continues entertaining rivals’ inquiries. It would be front-office malpractice not to at least understand what it would take to land Markkanen. League personnel believe three teams in particular value the Finnish forward at this preliminary stage of trade conversations. Two of those apparent suitors, Sacramento and Atlanta, make sense, considering the Kings’ and Hawks’ respective approaches for Siakam. The third team league personnel continue mentioning to watch for a potential Markkanen approach is Oklahoma City, suddenly second in the West with a trove of first-round picks." Could get behind this way more than a 1 year Siakam rental, but the cost would probably be too steep.
  5. He’s just going to go from 0 playing time…ever in the NBA…to staring 4? A better question would be if he got any reserve mins at the 4 while JJ is out? And I still think that answer would be no. He’s super raw.
  6. My only untouchables at this point are Trae and JJ. I'm convinced that the Trae & DJM backcourt isn't going to work so I'm *regrettably* okay trading DJM for the right price. We have to make the most of our FRP this year before SAS controls our next 3. If that means shedding good players to maximize that FRP (DJM, Dre, and Cap), I'm okay with that. Maybe we get lucky in the lotto and shed some salary along the way to get a guy like Nick Claxton in free agency. Maybe DeRozan has 3 good years left or PG13 or Kawhi opt out. Give me a good draft pick and flexibility in free agency to try and right this ship in the off season before we have to pay up to SAS. Only really need a 3 year run out of these guys. I wouldn't mind Trae, OG, JJ, maybe OO and go into the draft with a good pick and free agency with some money to spend.
  7. I think Siakam will end up in Sacramento. Kings are finally relevant and will go for a big trade to stay that way. OG to the Hawks.
  8. Even if there is no consensus #1 pick, I just don’t see the point of doing this play-in charade another year. It’s gotten us nowhere the past 2 years. OG and Claxton are the 2 main FA’s I’d be interested in as well.
  9. I don’t see us doing anything this year. We’re about as mid as mid can be…maybe slightly worse. What if we do a soft 1 year rebuild? Trade some of our bigger contracts like Capela, Bogi, and Hunter (maybe Murray too). This does 3 things: 1. Tanks. This is our last year of control for our FRP’s from the Murray trade. Let’s make the best of it. Should also have the Sacramento pick. 2. Recoup draft assets. 3. Create cap space to make a splash in free agency this upcoming summer and get players who better complement Trae. Some names who will be available: AD, Lebron, OG, Kawhi, PG13, DeRozan, Claxton, Klay…just to name a few.
  10. What’s going on with OG? I love Murray, but OG and Hunter might be the better fit around
  11. Get the lead and then incoming hero ball…
  12. The big question that needs to be answered first is can you win with a backcourt of Trae & Dejounte (who are like 40% of you salary combined and will be even more once DJ's extension hits). So far...the answer to that is no, especially on defense. Something has to change there or it doesn't really matter what trade this team does. We'll still be middle of the road.
  13. Give us OG with Siakam...or no Siakam at all.
  14. Welp…guess we need Dre more than most of us want to admit.
  15. I don’t see us trading multiple FRPs. Would take us out of the running if a superstar were to hit the block.
  16. Can't....SAS control our FRP's after this year.
  17. Looks wise, this is a huge improvement over Sharecare. Throw this one on the white jerseys and we're cooking. It's literally our colors.
  18. The Falcons are the ATL team I’d like to rebrand. Help remove some of that 28-3 stench.
  19. 21 TO's was the difference in this game. Our backcourt has to start taking better care of the ball.
  20. Pretty cool to win in Mexico City like that. These showcase games abroad the NBA definitely wants a good show and our boys delivered. Should mean good things when it comes to getting more marquee games.
  21. At no point last night did I say to myself, "Wow, we are really just a Rudy Gobert player away..."
