  1. Dolfan good job on the site. I really appreciate the effort you put in. I just can't wait to pick. LOL. Why did I have to pick for the Lakers, I hate that team. I know, I know it was random.
  2. I think it would be good if the next person picked asap. Most of us login everyday so we can check the draft site and pick as needed.
  3. I don't see any problem taking two high schoolers assuming they have the right mentality. I think Curry and Chandler were/are immature and Kwame just never had the drive/confidence. Out of this year's crop I like Howard, Josh Smith, and Livingston. I think Swift could be decent also. I would like to get Josh Smith and Howard out of the draft and let them grow together. I don't care what anyone says but it is a marketing plus to have two high school players from Georgia. It could lead to good press.
  4. I don't want to give up the #6 pick. I'd much rather offer up the #17, Philly's first and two of our second rounders. I'd also offer the #17 and JT. I'm not sure who Billy is targetting but I think having two picks is a must for our rebuilding franchise. We should be able to find ourselves a couple of big men or a big man and a point guard. As for the Clips I think they are better served to take the 17, Philly first and two second rounders and we take back a contract or two. This gives them a legit shot at Kobe. They can then sign and trade Qrich to Utah for more capspace. I think they need to find an experienced point guard and could see them going for Van Exel or D Fish if those two both opt out. The Clippers are too close to the playoffs to start a rookie point guard who could actually be a shooting guard, if Gordon is their choice. I'd like us to grab Howard and Livingston/J Smith. I'd then go out and get Foyle. Livingston JSmith SJax Howard Foyle I'd bring Diaw off the bench as the sixth man to spell any of Livingston/Smith/Jax to keep our ball handling up. This lineup would be long and could run.
  5. I can get on also but I did have trouble yesterday.
  6. I like both players but their games are different. I think Pierce would have just as much success as Peja with Sacramento because the players around him would be better. I don't know what happened to Peja in the playoffs but he just was never comfortable, he rushed his shots and never finished strong. Pierce had no one to help and constantly found himself taking the shot with two/three guys on him with the shot clock running low.
  7. The only team that should trade for SAR is Utah. I agree with Weez that SAR is a player but he needs a half court offense. With AK47's lenght and a bulky center next to him SAR could give a legit low scoring threat. With three first round picks and capspace I'm sure Utah could make something happen. They could also pickup up Eddy Curry and go: Arroyo Stevensen AK47 SAR Curry
  8. Hmm.. If we got Howard and picked up Luke Jackson I'd go this route. Trade JT and the two second rounders for Jamal Crawford. Resign Jax and Sura to reasonable deals. Sign Swift and Foyle. Lineup: Crawford/Sura Jax/Hansen/Jackson Diaw/Crawford/Jackson Swift/Hendu Foyle/Howard You could defintely run with this team. I'm not sure I buy into the fact that Diaw can't play in a running offense. The guy is young and athletic and a good ball handler. In the playoffs you need to be able to play half court offense anyways, especially in the East therefore Diaw is a keeper.
  9. I went with the following: Kobe - Won't happen Jax - Seems to be improving Foyle - Best center available when considering cost to performance Crawford - Terrible shooting percentage but is improving and can break down anyone in the league when on
  10. Quote: kmart still had the fire and played well when the rest of the nets, including Kidd, didn't play well at all in the last game against the pistons. kmart is an allstar pf. i don't want okafor.his back scares me. I'm not sure I would call out Jason Kidd in this series. The man played hard every game even when his teamates were laying up bricks. He also didn't get much help at the PG spot when he went to the bench. I buy into the fact that keeping Plannic sp. over Anthony Johnson was a mistake. That series should have never went to game 7 dumb Nets couldn't close at home.
  11. JT originally signed an offer sheet with Utah that Knight matched in order to force someone to pay us value for JT. With Utah on the verge of making the playoffs and needing an infusion of scoring would they be interested in JT? JT is much better than D Stevensen and Utah has three first round selections. Would you trade JT and the 17th for Utah's 14 and 16? Moving up gets us closer to secure a possible slider plus we pick up an extra first rounder. First round talent is cheaper and in our rebuilding stage young, cheap talent is a must. Can we even trade JT to Utah or are there still provisions that allow JT to decide his destination? What do you guys think?
  12. I'd rather have RJ then Kenyan. Kenyan has game but I don't think he is even worth 10 million. Jason Kidd makes Kenyan look better than he is. RJ is the only guy on the Nets who can create his own shot and he is gettting better.
  13. I too think Bender is an exciting player with noticeable upside. In some games he looks dominant. That being said aren't you guys worried that he is injury prone? He always seems to be hurt and that can't be good for a young player.
  14. Diesel what is so great about Swift? You'd give up Diaw and the 17 for a power forward who hasn't done squat but dunk?
  15. I think EMuss is the right choice. I still maintain that losing Arenas cost him his job. In Atlanta him and Billy can build a team around the style they want to play. I can't imagine a better place for a coach than Atlanta where there is enough capspace to build a team in the manner in which Denver did.
  16. I think Francis is overated. Yeah I know he is fast and an exceptional athlete but I would never make that trade. I would actually take Cuttino Mobley over Francis for JT straight up. Cuttino is a tough defender and he plays bigger than he is. That guy will post up any guard in the league even if he is shorter. I think Francis is a baby.
  17. I guess I agree to disagree. I do think Kobe was given his PT but I'm not so sure Dwayne Wade didn't earn his over the summer and or possibly due to injuries to Butler. Perhaps Wade won his PT in camp and during preseason and practices. To say start young talent at all costs in every situation even if you have a better alternative I feel is wrong. If the Bulls put Crawford, Chandler, and Curry on the floor from the start it would still end up a disaster. They should be able to beat out the veterans in practice for those spots. Should Darko and Okur start over Rasheed and Wallace because they are young with upside? That being said every situation is different and in Atlanta's case we don't have any vets that I wouldn't mind seeing young guys take over for including high schoolers.
  18. Not sure I like the Sloan comparison. As much as I respect Sloan he had two hall of famers for the majority of his tenure. Malone and Stockton followed Sloan's example and established a culture in Utah that dedication and team work are required or you will be gone/benched. In Utah Sloan is the Jazz and the players know it. That being said to be in the NBA you need to have talent but it's teamwork that makes teams win. Utah plays team basketball much like Miami did to turn around their season. In Golden State Emuss doesn't get the same support from management. In fact I'd argue that picking top ten in the lottery every year gives you a bunch of me guys trying to prove they are the man. When I look at JRich and Dunleavy I see a bunch of guys trying to make a name for themselves at the expense of the team. Unless you are killing your practice opponent in team play you deserve to ride the pine. With Sloan he's been drafting outside the lotter plugging in pieces to his puzzle. Most of these guys have question marks to their game and are forced into the system that Malone/Stockton/Sloan built. I give Sloan credit but feel Emuss is in an entirely different environment, one not dedicated to winning IMO. I'd like to see Emuss in Atlanta with full reigns to implement a system much like he did with our exceptional summer league squads.
  19. I don't think I'm contradicting myself. He did get the most out of the talent he had. To win 37 games without Arenas, Murphy, and Foyle is impressive, even more so when you figure they are a Western Conference team. I don't think Richardson is going to be anything more than a dunker. His handles are average, he never squares up for a shot, and he doesn't work well in the confines of the offense. Dunleavy has some potential but his lack of footspeed makes him a liability in a running offense. Only time will tell but I don't think Dunleavy or Richardson are going to be much more than they are today. As for Pietrus, once he showed his tenacious D his playing time increased. Unlike Richardson Pietrus works well within the offensive sets Muss employs. I can see this guy getting better. My brother in law loves this team and we debate all the time but if I was Mullin I'd keep Pietrus, Cliff, Cheaney, and Foyle. The rest of the team I'd trade away for the pieces I need.
  20. Being in Cali I watched a ton of Warriors games the past two seasons. I've read through all the posts and I just feel that Musselmen was given a raw deal. If you watched the Warriors last year Arenas made them go. In fact the Warriors running style with Arenas at the point gave the then dominant Kings headaches every time they played. Now Musselmen has aging vets and flawed young talent. In fact his only solid pieces are Pietrus(defense) and Murphy who was hurt all year. The minute they couldn't figure out a way to get capspace to resign Arenas was the nail in the coffin for St. Jean and Musselmen. That being said I'd love to have him as the coach of the Hawks because I see him as a Bill Bellicheck type. He understand basketball strategy and getting the most out of the talent he has despite what outside experts may think.
  21. I'm hoping for a Sacramento - Lakers and Nets - Heat. I'd like to see Sacramento versus the Nets in the finals.
  22. I'm willing to come from Cali. I've always wanted to go to Atlanta.
  23. I think at this stage in the game we need smart basketball players not just athletic ones. I like Crawford if his main duty is scoring, I'm not high on Swift nor Clark. We're much better off drafting and teaching the future instead of signing guys who haven't panned out in the last 4 years.
  24. Man Hotlanta you've lost it. Duncan is the sure thing and he is real steady. In his press conference last night he basically said the Lakers focused on stopping him and instead of forcing the action he passed the ball out. He basically felt that his guys needed to knock down more jumpers. The way I see it is Duncan is playing against two strong hall of famers, Shaq and Malone, and his team only lost by 8 on the road to a hot lakers team. I just don't think your statement has any merrit considering how superb and consistent Duncan is and has been.
