  1. depends on what you want I guess....5 or less 1300-2000 yard rushing seasons or 10 700-1000 yard rushing seasons...I think having a tandem of capable running backs is better in the longhaul for a franchise.
  2. anybody got 2 tickets for the game..
  3. Artest has a few screws loose...I don't want to take a chance on him. But I do want the Hawks to get involved in a 3 way with Al if they can get a good deal, I think the Pacers really want Al and I'm not convinced we can sign him to an extension.
  4. I agree that the Colts D is vastly improved, I see where you can say that Dungy should be coach of the year. Why not? I have nothing against Dungy, I just don't like Peyton Manning.
  5. I don't know if we'd want to take on 3 guaranteed contracts though I think 2nd round picks would be enough
  6. I agree Nick, I want to be able to listen outside my home. I can't even ride somewhere and listen to the game on the radio unless I get Satellite and pay? I don't know if I even can do this if I wanted to. I love listening to Steve Holman...now its just 790 with absolutely zero coverage outside the perimeter at game time unless I can be at my computer online.
  7. Yes that same station..there are different shows on the station. I personally enjoy the 2 live Stews and Brandon leak who can be heard at various times during the day. They aren't hard on the Hawks. but Chris Dimino rips them apart any chance he can get , Steak Shapiro is kind of 50/50. I like Homers, thats just how I am. I think Brandon Leak is doing a good job, calling it like it is. And I love Steve Holman, he is a Homers homer .. on 680 the fan I like the take of Jamie Dukes on the Hawks, Perry and Kincaid are condescending assholes
  8. Ivey will be better when he can get some calls...the whole Hawks team doesn't get much respect and especially guys like Ivey and Marvin. If Ivey was allowed to play D last night he could have had more playing time, because he was playing well.
  9. I agree I get that impression too. And we have some jerks on Atlanta sports radio, especially when it comes to coverage of the Hawks. They are condescending themselves and I think BK realizing that tries to get back at them. I speak of Dimino and Kincaid, even Steak Shapiro at times.
  10. lol at least he goes on the radio. I think its hilarious that people get all up in arms about it
  11. I agree. It isn't BK's job to blow smoke up our butts as fans, that is Bernie Mullin's job. BK isn't a PR guy, he is a GM....personally I don't mind at all because Babcock blew smoke up our butts for years and he devastated the franchise.
  12. The reason I don't think Dungy deserves it is teh Colts are not much better than they were supposed to be. They haven't had hardly any adversity. No injury problems, loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. This is the year Dungy has to win the Superbowl or I don't think the Colts will win it. if the Colts get to the Superbowl, win or lose, I think this team as is is done, their players will get increased market value and they will lose some of them.
  13. you should have other in hte list Diesel, Tice gets my vote...with all that team went through, he helped them stay focused. sure they beat teams they should have beat, Detroit twice, Green Bay, etc..after losing to tough teams...but Tice has Brad Johnson playing like he is 5 yrs younger.
  14. Nice find Nicholas, I loved the article. JJ is such a great guy and I'm excited about where we can be in a couple years. did you notice this quote? I laughed out loud when I read it Quote: Bobby Jackson on Dirk Nowitzki: "He's probably the softest guy in the industry." that was on the top of the article
  15. Roy Marble didn't make it because he was a crackhead. I seriously doubt Marvin will have drug problems, kid has a great character and work ethic. I also think Marvin will be fine mentally.
  16. I don't think the issue is Marvin vs Paul. I don't think the issue is whether or not Marvin becomes a superstar. I personally don't believe either player will be a superstar. I think they both will be solid starter to star. I feel that if Marvin avges between 15-20 ppg that BK made the right choice. You don't have to score over 20 ppg in this league to be a good player. With what Marvin brings other than scoring points, rebounding, hustle, defense, etc.its worth it. Tim Thomas isn't that kind of player. Scoring points isn't all this league is about...it is playing within the team concept, character, on and off the court. I don't have rose colored glasses on about Marvin. I feel that when he gains experience in the league he will come along fine. Do I feel he will be a surefire superstar? hell no. But I do feel he might have the potential to become one and that is worth it for me. If Marvin doesn't pan out and Paul puts up 17 pts and 7 assists for his entire career and stays healthy I'll eat my words. I'm not too proud not to.
  17. If we continue to play like we have the last couple games, this talk about Chris Paul will hopefully fly by the wayside...I don't think we need Chris Paul if Ivey/Lue gets better. I think there is upside to Ivey, he is no longterm answer as a starting PG but I don't think Paul was the absolute must have savior for the franchise at PG....and the reason we played poorly was overall team play not responding to coach and being selfish, not PG..
  18. Thats good! Salim plays with the same edge because of all the teams that passed on him..and Paul should play even more with the edge against Utah, they chose Deron Williams over him.
  19. No, Marvin is fine. We need to stop worrying so much about individual players and focusing on them and watch how the overall team plays! Marvin was contributing in our win tonight, in his 21 minutes he got 4 fouls 2 stls 4 pts and 3 reb. I can see Marvin's intelligent style of play...he doesn't get the whistles to go his way yet but he'll learn. He is just a kid. I love Marvin and lets wish him well.
  20. That makes me like him more!
  21. Isn't it too early to say though Diesel... I mean Paul is putting up the points and assists..but is he not still a defensive liability primarily because of his size? his durability is also a question mark. We haven't even played half the season. Paul is still a midget PG in a league where PGs are increasingly bigger. I still would have wanted Deron...and Deron isn't putting up the numbers Paul is, but he is playing D better and I don't think his durability is as much of a question mark. For me, the comparison is MW vs DW. Not MW vs CP. I didn't want CP then and still don't now, because stats are nice from a PG, like Stephon Marbury and Damon Stoudamire put up nice stats...but Ws are a different thing. Will CP impact the game/team like Kidd or Nash? or will he just be a liability on D that doesn't score enough to compensate for it.
  22. Chill already has stepped up and Marvin wasn't expected to do that much this year. last 5 games, Chill shooting around 60% with 11 pts 8 rebs thereabouts, OFF THE BENCH. What more can a man do to step up?
  23. Yes, I think Reef is cursed...but he has 4 blocks in just the 4th quarter of his game tonight! his line is 17 pts, 7 reb, 1 assist, 1 stl, 4 blocks.
  24. I like Artest and I think it would be absolutely nuts to not want him. He is an oustanding talent and a hard worker. I think the "player hating " faction is just mad at him for blowing a fuse at that game a year ago. I don't think that Artest is a bad teammate at all. Personally I wouldn't mind getting Artest.
