  1. Let's have some fun fellas!!! I want to believe that things have been so crazy in this organization the past few weeks that we are going to get the first pick. But common sense kicks in and I then realize that we are the Hawks. So I will start it............................. A woman has a better chance of waking up fully dressed after a date with Bill Cosby than the Hawks have of getting the number #1 pick in the draft.
  2. I liked Bud alot but at that the same time I was starting to wonder if that system was holding some players back or if we didn't have the talent to run it. If we move away from this style of play (looking very possible) who do you believe will benefit the most if anyone? Based on our as of now core (Dennis, Prince, Baze, Collins,Dorsey etc) what type of style of play would you like to see us use.
  3. I am confused about Dennis. Do you all want him traded due to us rebuilding (for the foreseeable future) and not needing him or due to the opinion of some that he sucks. I am old school in that I believe that players earn their money in the playoffs. Dennis Schröder balled when the pressure was tight and the spotlight was on him. I can name plenty of guys who are on max contracts who shrink when things get tight. I know that he has some issues as with most players but those could be corrected by coaching in my opinion. Hate to see him go and blow up somewhere else. We have enough egg on out face already. At least he can't walk for nothing.
  4. First we were the new pistons, then the spurs-east, and now Golden State-east. All of these changes and we don't have much to show for it. What we have been is a Bush league organization that lacks any true identity of our own. I am indifferent to Travic Schlenk one way or another. Was he really a shot caller in GS or was he the guy who made coffee. John Collins fell to us so that was a no brainer--Schlenk should not get too much credit there. I have no issues going BPA in the draft but that still doesn't tell me what exactly are trying to do on the court. They are really hyping up the "new" philips arena but I question how successful can the relaunch of the arena be if they are marching a lottery team out there next season. What good is a SWAG shop or a Golf range if no one is at the arena. I just don't see where they are going with this thing.
  5. We got a fighter's chance to get the top pick. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/draft/2017/05/16/nba-draft-lottery-history-no-1-overall-pick/101752858/ 2016 Highest odds: Philadelphia No. 1 pick: Philadelphia Player selected: Ben Simmons (LSU) 2015 Highest odds: Minnesota No. 1 pick: Minnesota Player selected: Karl-Anthony Towns (Kentucky) 2014 Highest odds: Milwaukee No. 1 pick: Cleveland (ninth-best odds) Player selected: Andrew Wiggins (Kansas) 2013 Highest odds: Orlando No. 1 pick: Cleveland (third-best odds) Player selected: Anthony Bennett (UNLV) 2012 Highest odds: Charlotte No. 1 pick: New Orleans (fourth-best odds) Player selected: Anthony Davis (Kentucky) 2011 Highest odds: Minnesota No. 1 pick: Cleveland (from LA Clippers; eight-best odds) Player selected: Kyrie Irving (Duke) 2010 Highest odds: New Jersey No. 1 pick: Washington (fifth-best odds) Player selected: John Wall (Kentucky) 2009 Highest odds: Sacramento No. 1 pick: LA Clippers (third-best odds) Player selected: Blake Griffin (Oklahoma) 2008 Highest odds: Miami No. 1 pick: Chicago (ninth-best odds) Player selected: Derrick Rose (Memphis) 2007 Highest odds: Memphis No. 1 pick: Portland (sixth-best odds) Player selected: Greg Oden (Ohio State) 2006 Highest odds: Portland No. 1 pick: Toronto (fifth-best odds) Player selected: Andrea Bargnani (Italy) 2005 Highest odds: Atlanta No. 1 pick: Milwaukee (sixth-best odds) Player selected: Andrew Bogut (Utah) 2004 Highest odds: Orlando No. 1 pick: Orlando Player selected: Dwight Howard (Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy) 2003 Highest odds: Denver and Cleveland (tied) No. 1 pick: Cleveland Player selected: LeBron James (St. Vincent-St. Mary high school) 2002 Highest odds: Golden State and Chicago (tied) No. 1 pick: Houston (fifth-best odds) Player selected: Yao Ming (China)
  6. Prince is balling because Bazemore is not around. Don't get it twisted at all. offense seems to be running better since bazemore went down.
  7. nah. You can piece together a highlight reel that makes James harden look like a candidate for defensive player of the year. its about what you normally do play to play.
  8. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2764878-dennis-Schröder-dwight-howard-only-plays-well-against-former-teams Twitter Ads info and privacy On Thursday, Howard led all scorers with 33 points to go along with 12 rebounds, two blocks and two steals. He also converted seven of his eight free-throw attempts. In four games against Atlanta this season, Howard is averaging 22.8 points and 13.5 rebounds. The 32-year-old Howard is enjoying a strong season with the Hornets, as he is averaging 16.5 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. In his one and only season with his hometown Hawks in 2016-17, Howard put up 13.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest. Since an eight-year stint with the Orlando Magic, who drafted him No. 1 overall in 2004, that yielded six All-Star nods and one trip to the NBA Finals, Howard has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. There may be some credence to Schröder's claims since Howard has good career numbers in 14 games against Orlando with 19.1 points and 12.9 rebounds per contest. The only team he averages more points against is the Toronto Raptors. His numbers have slipped significantly compared to what he did during his prime, but Howard remains a productive center, especially on the glass. Howard is the top career rebounder among active players, and he is 17th on the all-time NBA list. He is also the top active shot-blocker, and he ranks 18th all-time. A championship has eluded him and he hasn't been able to successfully stand alone as a go-to player since leaving the Magic, but Howard has put together what may be a Hall of Fame resume. Schröder, meanwhile, is in his fifth NBA season, and the 24-year-old is enjoying a career year for the struggling Hawks with 19.2 points, 6.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. I am laughing my ass off!!!!!
  9. he is not a Bud type of player. He doesn't play defense at all and doesn't appear to have any defensive skills that can be developed. Teams need to watch out for these guys playing for a contract.
  10. This is why things are so frustrating. he have a decent squad and of all the teams that are 'tanking" we are the one team that could use the top pick the most. We are a player or 2 from being in the playoffs and I would to as far to say that if this same squad comes back next year we could contend for the 7 or 8th spot. Of the 45 games that we have lost how many would you say that we were in or could have won 20-25? Even at the low end of the spectrum of 20 that would put us with 40 wins, which would be more wins than everyone in the East except Boston and Toronto. Just winning 15 of the 45 losses would have us in the playoffs. We a dominant scorer who can light it up. even with our current roster I see more upside that Sacramento, Orlando, Dallas, Phoenix. or Brooklyn. These teams seem to have lottery picks every season and are still garbage. We are a step above those teams and with a good solid pick we wont be back in the lottery next year due to our record but rather through a pick we have acquired in a trade. Our lucky break probably was John Collins so we need to build on that. We a competitive squad, we have good draft picks, we got good young talent, cap space, and Bud. The world is ours and that is why I don't feel that we will be a losing team. They better not open the new Phillips Arena with a projected 20 win team.
  11. We are going to go out and win this game and mess up the tank. You just watch.
  12. My goodness did you all see how Phoenix just gave that game away last night. They are tanking without any shame. i hope the t-wolves hit the skid for the sake of getting a good pick out. I am just curious as too who is everyone tanking for because there appears to be no consensus number #1. Ayton reminds me of Michael Olawakandi.
  13. I don't see us having consecutive lean years That is why many of us want us to be to really bad this year because we won't have to be long. While I am not sold on Schenk just yet, but we have one of the best coaches in the league and they can get talent. We got solid young players and if we keep Dedmon or upgrade his position we are on scorer away from being a playoff team. I still don't see us attracting top free agents. We have to retain a good ratio of young players to vets because you don't want to be too young.
  14. Bud must really like him. he had him in a close game late.
  15. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-gm-thinks-that-lebron-james-leaked-his-own-warriors-rumor/ar-BBIN01m?li=BBnbfcL&ocid=mailsignout Schlenk, who used to work in the Warriors' front office, didn't claim to know that LeBron leaked the rumor. He was just expressing his opinion on the matter. LeBron himself had even called the rumor nonsense. But it definitely is rare to see a general manager call a different team's player out like that. He should have been talking about our bright future. LOL!!
  16. I was saying BS due to the fact that they actually thought they would get Dennis for what they offered. With them being a playoff team that would not have been a good pick.
  17. https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/248797/Bucks-Discussed-Dennis-Schröder-Trade-Before-Eric-Bledsoe-Became-Available that would have been stupid considering they are a playoff team. i call BS!!
  18. He is starting to get regular minutes and is looking solid so far. he needs to slow down a little but I have been impressed with his ability to play point guard. he has some skills and tries on defense. Bud must see something in him to give him more minutes.
  19. I know that everything is supposedly great now with the 76ers but how come people overlook their failures. Evan Turner, MCW, Noel Nerlens, Okafor, Thaddeus Young etc were all lottery picks that didn't pan out. In addition, things are not looking good for Fultz at this point. Yet the fact that they get all kind of praise is stupid. If you are in the lottery that often then sooner or later you are going to get lucky. it speaks to their lack of talent evaluation. Having said that I have faith that we can evaluate talent better than most teams. If you do it right the first time then there won't be a need for the process to continue for the better part of a decade.
  20. I am already whole son. that blame whitey shit is as old as Betty White. I am not attacking you but rather that self defeating -welfare mentality that many black folks have. I control my life. Opportunities are out there if you want them. making black folks whole again with a reparations check is not going to fix anything. Slavery was f*cked up but it happened. i don't know anyone that is a slave other than a slave to ignorance. People like to f*ck up their own lives and blame other people. Look in the mirror and 99 times out of 100 you will see that person that is holding you back. MLK, Malcolm X. Medgar Evers and many others fought for the right to be treated equal not better but equal. As for the arena, tax payer money should not be used unless it is voted on by the people. We forget sometimes that is our money not the politicians'.
  21. Hell there were alot if empty seats for the Falcons and Braves as well. Especially the Falcons.
  22. I will tell you this. regardless of the crowd size this year the fans have been some of the most active and vocal I recall in a while. They are really into the game.
  23. Would you take Love (21.17 million) for Bazemore (15.73 million) + Dedmon ( $7,050,000) Dennis Bellini/Bembry/Draft pick Prince Love Collins
