  1. It is quite impressive, but I think that even I could jump higher than Pistol Pete.
  2. It's true though, his game is more based on turnaround jumpers than power slams. But it doesn't matter, at 7 foot his turnarounds are impossible to stop. He must shoot the same percentage in game as he would practising in the gym.
  3. NBA legends league is a good idea. Have like 5 teams, 8 game regular season, top 2 teams make the finals and play a 3 game series. Every single game would count that way! P.S. I also like Sue Bird. And Lauren Jackson (as I am an Australian), Go the Storm!
  4. Quote: Can we ask Barry Bonds to "mentor" Solomon Jones? That cracked me up!
  5. Me and my friend Dave like to do a bit of an Iron Chef challenge. We decide one ingredient that the other must use (in one course, not all courses like in REAL Iron Chef), then we make a four or five course dinner. We present the two entrees, six main dishes and two desert dishes to everyone. And our friends tell us what the best stuff was. We made mexican the first time (it was a tie). We made chinese the second time (Dave won). And we made Old School Home Roast the third time and I won. Also we make everything from scratch. And don't use recipes, so much as just go for it. It is a lot of fun, but costs a lot of money to buy that much food. ( We normally have enough for about 20 people).
  6. I want to move to Boston and get season tickets. especially if they sign old-man Reggie!
  7. Bulls F Deng debuts for British national team August 9, 2007 Special to PA SportsTicker PAU, France (Ticker) -- Luol Deng's long-awaited debut for the British national team came in subdued surroundings in a match closed to the public Thursday, with Great Britain losing, 65-63, to Georgia in the first of two warmup internationals between the teams ahead of their respective Eurobasket qualifying games. Deng finished as the leading scorer for Great Britain with 19 points and Nate Reinking added 15, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter as the Brits attempted to haul themselves back from a seven-point deficit. ADVERTISEMENT Deng, who was cleared to play for his adopted country last October, found his introduction to senior international competition a tough one. Double- and triple-teamed whenever he drove, he shot 5-of-12 overall and connected on 2-of-7 attempts from the arc. Great Britain coach Chris Finch commented afterward that the different spacing in the European game is something with which Deng will have to become accustomed. The 22-year-old was notably frustrated after the game, which was a scrappy, ill-tempered affair watched by only a few members of the public. There were a few typical highlights from Deng, however. A first-half swoop to the basket off a pass from Reinking deserved a wider audience, as did a second-half drive past two defenders that almost resulted in his first dunk for his country. The other talking point of the match concerned another NBA player, Zaza Pachulia of Atlanta, who was ejected in the third quarter for striking Great Britain backup center Eric Boateng, whose reaction also earned an ejection. Manuchar Markoishvili led Georgia with 17 points, picking up the slack after the ejection of Pachulia, whose 12 points were instrumental in Georgia retaking the lead after the sides went to intermission tied at 32-32. Pachulia wins!
  8. This is a good idea! It also shows why neither Belkin nor the ASG want to give it up!
  9. I would like to see the Hawks go up against that team. I reckon we would slaughter them!

    We Need Vets...

I think the question becomes "Which Vets?". Everyone would like players in here who can provide a winning atmosphere and mentor our younger guys, but that is hard to find.

    Excited

I am so excited about the coming season! For the following reasons: - We get to see how good the Hawks really are! - We get to see Boston's new Big Three in action. - We get to see Law filling it up at the end of games. - We get to see Durant, Oden, Horford, Bellinelli, Conley and all the others in real action! - We get to see how Joe does without double teams. - We get to see whether the Suns can keep it up with such frugal owners and an older Steve Nash. - We get to see our new Uniforms in action! - We get to root for someone other than San Antonio to win the title! - We get to see Josh Smith and Marvin Williams with another offseason under their belts! - We get to be proud of our team if it makes the playoffs, cause the Eastern Conference isn't a JV league anymore. This is an exciting time! When is the first preseason game?
  12. But there aren't that many good FA's left. I suppose they could maybe get Papadopoulous, that Greek guard we were interested in. And I figure Latrell Sprewell still needs to feed his family. Plus Keith Van Horn took last year off, but he was coming back this year wasn't he? I think boston needs a big white guy, and with Sczerbiak gone, KVH is it. Who shone in Summer League, but didn't get a contract? Also, they apparently mostly want veteran back-ups for the C and PG spots. We could trade them a package of AJ and Lo Wright for a future first rounder, or maybe 2 future 2nds? Right now they just want bodies, they don't even care if they are still warm.
  13. The Bucks and the Pacers are not gonna make it!
  14. Quote: Why is there more outrage against this than when an athlete beats up on his wife or girlfriend? Kobe was accused of rape and I don't remember this much uproar. Ray Lewis was accused of double homicide and there wasn't this much uproar. Jamal Lewis was accused of arranging a drug deal and I don't remember this much uproar. Why are we so callous to crimes against humans and yet so sensitive to crimes against animals? Or are we really??? What strikes me as odd is how the same people I work with can call Vick a "dog killer" during one conversation and then talk about the thrill they got over shooting/gutting deers, turkeys, raccoons, squirrels, turtles, ducks, doves, etc in another conversation. I KNOW that dogfighting is illegal, and deservedly so, but does this sound the least bit hypocritical to anyone else? Why is the line drawn at dogs? I can understand PETA, the Humane Society, and people who don't live in the "South" being outraged, but I don't get the outrage that a lot of Southerners are showing lately. Heck, to be honest I really don't get the outrage at all. Where's all of this "outrage" over things that REALLY matter? I mean Vick the most hated man in America? I can think of a lot worse people out there. NOTE: I make this rant knowing that this is one of the few "sane" places where there's actual discussion about the issues surrounding this case without it degenerating into something ugly. I agree with the majority, in that I believe that dogfighting and the torture of dogs is disgusting and wrong. But I agree with you completely about the over-importance placed on this case when compared to crimes against human beings. Any crime against a human has to be more disgusting than a crime against a dog. That is just how I see it.
  15. Who wins the starting point guard position in the new Seattle? I lean towards Luke Ridnour myself, but both West and Watson are ballers. Either way, I see this as one of the more interesting training camp battles coming up.
  16. yeah, arroyo is a good player. Gotta love those braids!
  17. Quote: As much as M. Vick = The Falcons, they are not dead, at least not yet, without him. with a new Q.B. and a new coach, we will just have to wait and see how things work out. Georgia Force had a good season, but lost out in the playoffs. The Braves just pulled a big trade - May be just what they need to put them back on track and into the pennant chase. Hockey seems to be doing just fine in Atlanta. Lots of "move in" people that love hockey and some natives will help boost things there. Hawks, who I wish were better recieved by the fans, will draw more and bigger fan support when the winning starts. Woooo! Go Joey Harrington!
  18. That does sound like a reasonable deal. I would like to keep Zaza, but to get a player like JO, you need to give something up.
  19. Navarro is an interesting idea. I say we trade Lue for him straight up. Add a little Spanish Flava.
  20. A good man, and a good coach who was taken from us far too early. This is kinda depressing.
  21. Kenny Smith running the break. Reggie Miller hitting the game winner after fighting through three screens. Bill Walton grabbing the rebound and throwing the outlet pass. John Stockton and those short shorts. Gary Payton back when he was really "The Glove". Man! The old NBA was SO. DAMNED. GOOD.
