  1. What world are you in? I played Hoops Dynasty for around 6 seasons or so. And it is really hard to have a consistently good team in DII. It is good fun though, looking forward to the next update.
  2. So, it has been rumoured that the hawks want to deal Josh Smith for Amare Stoudamire. Clearly other pieces need to be involved. The original source is a Stephen A Smith twitter. Linked on the top of the HoopsHype rumours page: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm And here is a crazy draft idea that just might work. Basically I don't want to give up on Horf: http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5133189 Also we swap picks with the Suns. I realise it is crazy, but I think it is time to cut J-Smoove free, and if we can get STAT at the same time, then we are set. STAT+Horf = scariest frontcourt in the East. By a LONG way.
  3. I tried to do a full fantasy mock draft to see roughly where people would get drafted (so I can prepare for a league me and my friends are setting up). Here are the results: RD1 1 Chris Paul 2 LeBron James 3 Kobe Bryant 4 Amare Stoudamire 5 Dwight Howard 6 Yao Ming 7 Dirk Nowitzki 8 Dwyane Wade 9 Josh Smith 10 Allen Iverson 11 Baron Davis 12 Steve Nash RD2 12 Shawn Marion 11 Al Jefferson 10 Tim Duncan 9 Mike Bibby 8 Gilbert Arenas 7 Deron Williams 6 Rudy Gay 5 Andre Iguodala 4 Gerald Wallace 3 Marcus Camby 2 Carlos Boozer 1 Pau Gasol RD3 1 Kevin Garnett 2 Carmelo Anthony 3 Chris Bosh 4 Paul Pierce 5 Brandon Roy 6 Vince Carter 7 Caron Butler 8 Elton Brand 9 Chris Kaman 10 Joe Johnson 11 Chauncey Billups 12 Tracy McGrady RD4 12 Danny Granger 11 David West 10 Monta Ellis 9 Kevin Durant 8 Andrew Bynum 7 Jason Richardson 6 Hedo Turkoglu 5 Rashard Lewis 4 Manu Ginobili 3 Mo Williams 2 Kevin Martin 1 Josh Howard RD5 1 Mike Beazley 2 Jose Calderon 3 Al Horford 4 Mike Dunleavy 5 Ron Artest 6 Andrew Bogut 7 Tyson Chandler 8 Richard Jefferson 9 Corey Maggette 10 Zach Randolph 11 Ben Gordon 12 Greg Oden RD6 12 Emeka Okafor 11 Andre Miller 10 Peja Stojakovic 9 Rip Hamilton 8 TJ Ford 7 LaMarcus Aldridge 6 Mike Miller 5 Jason Kidd 4 Ray Felton 3 Steven Jackson 2 Antawn Jamison 1 Jamal Crawford RD7 1 Jermaine O'Neal 2 Mehmet Okur 3 Tony Parker 4 Rasheed Wallace 5 Zydrunas Ilgauskas 6 Charlie Villanueva 7 Al Thornton 8 Brendan Haywood 9 David Lee 10 Al Harrington 11 Ray Allen 12 Antonio McDyess RD8 12 Andrei Kirilenko 11 Tayshaun Prince 10 Travis Outlaw 9 James Posey 8 Jeff Green 7 Sam Dalembert 6 Leandro Barbosa 5 Rajon Rondo 4 Andris Biedrins 3 Jason Terry 2 Derek Fisher 1 Kirk Hinrich RD9 1 Shane Battier 2 Raja Bell 3 Lamar Odom 4 Brad Miller 5 Devin Harris 6 Kendrick Perkins 7 OJ Mayo 8 Randy Foye 9 Beno Udrih 10 Jameer Nelson 11 Troy Murphy 12 Luis Scola RD10 12 Daniel Gibson 11 Grant Hill 10 Udonis Haslem 9 Boris Diaw 8 Anderson Varejao 7 Thaddeus Young 6 Anthony Parker 5 DeShawn Stevenson 4 Rafer Alston 3 Ronnie Brewer 2 Marvin Williams 1 Jason Kapono RD11 1 Jamario Moon 2 Joakim Noah 3 Linas Kleiza 4 Rodney Stuckey 5 Fabricio Oberto 6 Drew Gooden 7 Luke Ridnour 8 Louis Williams 9 Nick Collison 10 Mike Conley 11 Yi JianLian 12 Jamal Tinsley RD12 12 Joe Smith 11 Eddy Curry 10 Andres Nocioni 9 Kwame Brown 8 Sasha Vujacic 7 Rudy Fernandez 6 Kevin Love 5 Quentin Richardson 4 Andrea Bargnani 3 Darko Milicic 2 Derrick Rose 1 Kenyon Martin And the Teams: 1 2 3 4 5 6 PG Chris Paul Jose Calderon Mo Williams Ray Felton Jason Kidd Baron Davis G Jamal Crawford Derek Fisher Tony Parker Mike Dunleavy Brandon Roy Leandro Barbosa SG Josh Howard Kevin Martin Kobe Bryant Manu Ginobili Andre Iguodala Vince Carter SF Shane Battier LeBron James Steven Jackson Gerald Wallace Ron Artest Hedo Turkoglu F Mike Beazley Carmelo Anthony Lamar Odom Paul Pierce Deshawn Stevenson Mike Miller PF Kevin Garnett Antawn Jamison Al Horford Rasheed Wallace Rashard Lewis Charlie Villanueva C Pau Gasol Carlos Boozer Marcus Camby Amare Stoudamire Dwight Howard Al Jefferson C Jermaine O'Neal Mehmet Okur Chris Bosh Andris Biedrins Zydrunas Ilgauskas Andrew Bogut Util Kirk Hinrich Raja Bell Jason Terry Brad Miller Rajon Rondo Kendrick Perkins Util Jason Kapono Marvin Williams Ronnie Brewer Rafer Alston Devin Harris Anthony Parker Bench Jamario Moon Joakim Noah Linas Kleiza Rodney Stuckey Fabricio Oberto Drew Gooden Bench Kenyon Martin Derrick Rose Darko Milicic Andrea Bargnani Quentin Richardson Kevin Love 7 8 9 10 11 12 PG Deron Williams Gilbert Arenas Mike Bibby Allen Iverson Chauncey Billups Steve Nash G OJ Mayo TJ Ford Rip Hamilton Monta Ellis Andre Miller Daniel Gibson SG Jason Richardson Dwyane Wade Kevin Durant Joe Johnson Ray Allen Tracy McGrady SF Caron Butler Richard Jefferson Corey Maggette Peja Stojakovic Rudy Gay Shawn Marion F LaMarcus Aldridge Jeff Green James Posey Travis Outlaw Tayshaun Prince Danny Granger PF Dirk Nowitzki Elton Brand Josh Smith Zach Randolph David West Antonio McDyess C Tyson Chandler Andrew Bynum Chris Kaman Tim Duncan Yao Ming Greg Oden C Sam Dalembert Brendan Haywood David Lee Al Harrington Troy Murphy Emeka Okafor Util Al Thornton Randy Foye Beno Udrih Jameer Nelson Grant Hill Andrei Kirilenko Util Thaddeus Young Anderson Varejao Boris Diaw Udonis Haslem Ben Gordon Luis Scola Bench Luke Ridnour Louis Williams Nick Collison Mike Conley Yi JianLian Jamaal Tinsley Bench Rudy Fernandez Sasha Vujacic Kwame Brown Andres Nocioni Eddy Curry Joe Smith[/code] And the notable undrafted players: Desagana Diop Stephon Marbury Kyle Korver Brook Lopez Andray Blatche Acie Law IV Roko Leni Ukic Tyrus Thomas Josh Boone Sean Williams Nick Young Spencer Hawes John Salmons My regrets are that Bibby went too high, and Salmons probably should have been drafted. Plus Monta Ellis is close to undraftable now too and that has to drop him some. What are your thoughts?
  4. I don't see why no-one's interested in Rod Benson, we should sign him to a 2 year deal right now!
  5. I have heard that Olympiakos (the team that grabbed Chillz) is looking to sign Papaloukas away from CSKA too. If we could get him, it could be our chance to stiff the Greeks for stealing Chillz!
  6. Portland is also getting Rudy Fernandez this season, which is AWESOME. He is one of the top players in europe, but he has a more NBA ready game than most euros. He can jump, play D and pass at an NBA level. Portland's only likely problem is finding PT (and money) for all their guys.
  7. I think Bogut is worth around that much to the Bucks. Solid young defensive center. Scores well, Boards well. And is still improving. And he's 7 feet. That package kinda guarantees you money in that range.
  8. NBA - Current: Dirk Nowitzki NBA - All Time: Reggie Miller NFL: Randy Moss Cycling: Tony Romiger, Marco Pantani Tennis: Martina Hingis, Lleyton Hewitt NHL: Brodeur Soccer: Ronaldinho NBL - Current: Shawn Redhage NBL - All time: Ricky Grace
  9. Quote: Two unintended consequences of our exciting playoff run this year were that (a) Woodson was resigned without talking to other coaching candidates and (b) Josh Smith became the more desirable RFA than guys like Luol Deng, Emeka Okafor, etc. who entered the season with a higher profile. There is no regret for me that we made our run, I just think it is interesting how high a price we are going to end up paying for it when you compare where we are now versus where we would be if Chicago had made the exciting playoff run behind the standout play of Deng or Charlotte had added Richardson and gone onto nab the 8th spot behind Okafor's interior defense and Atlanta had missed the playoffs yet again. Another unintended consequence is that if Josh Smith walks we could make a run at a Luol Deng or an Emeka Okafor. Neither of which should cost us as much.
  10. Thanks for posting that, it was really good.
  11. Yeah, I just saw the story on yahoo sports: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ApUU...=yhoo&type=lgns I figure we try to get a reasonable quality young player from them, maybe a Thaddeus Young in addition to draft picks and perhaps a trade exception?
  12. Quote: http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/n...x015748088jul01,0,7948383.story ...which would derail any ideas of trading for him, of course. Which means we could just sign him for the veterans minimum! j/k. I reckon he might follow his bball dreams to italy.
  13. I think they will challenge for the third seed in the West with that line-up. And I think that they will probably start Cat Mobley for the first maybe 2 weeks of the season, and then throw Gordon in head first.
  14. I'd happily pay the 5 mill for Anderson, I am pretty upset that he decided to sign in Europe instead of come to the NBA (especially as an Australia fan). Other than Anderson I still think we should throw a Jamario Moon style contract at Rod Benson.
  15. We also have an exciting young team that should make the playoffs for the next ten years as long as management doesn't screw it up. Players like the playoffs. Players like the ATL. They should come. Personally I like the idea of signing Livingston.
  16. I basically agree with you, but here is what I would change: I see NJN taking Gallinari over Randolph, they are apparently in love with this kid. I also think ytou have Koufos and Tomic a little bit high, but we'l see on draft day. Good mock!
  17. Quote: yea imagine the length we could put out there. 6'10 Horford, 6'9 Smoove, 6'9 Marvin, 6'7 Joe, and a pass first 6'7 Livingston. Are you guys forgetting the great passes in the playoffs a couple of years ago. Haha! This sounds like the ultimate Billy Knight team! Everyone long and lanky and between 6'7" and 6'10"! Although Knight would prefer if EVERYONE was 6'9".
  18. On a slightly unrelated note: Who are everyones sleepers for this draft? If we could trade up into the start->middle of the second round, which guys would you get? Who is gonna make a big splash? My sleepers are: Nathan Jawai - C - Australia: I think this guy could perhaps develop down the road into an Al Jefferson-lite kind of guy. He's too raw to be of much use his first couple of seasons, but he has all the physical tools and an aggressive mindset. I see this guy being a lot better than people expect. Courtney Lee - SG - Western Kentucky: I absolutely love this guy. I see him as having NBA athleticism and close to an NBA body right now. Second round picks that carve a niche in the NBA survive because they can do one thing really well. Well this guy has a pull-up jumper and mid-range game that is so good it makes me think he will have no problem getting that jumper off in the pros. I think with Lee we are looking at this years Rodney Stuckey.
  19. If we can trade into the second round I think we should go after this guy: Lester Hudson. He seems to be a combo guard with first round talent. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/news;_ylt=Ai...=yhoo&type=lgns
  20. OK guys, another crazy Detroit trade. This time my angle was that Toronto has a lot of expiring deals that they can get rid of, and they have TJ Ford, that a lot of teams want. And New York covets Ford and expiring deals. The only roadblock holding this trade up is whether anyone would actually trade for Zach Randolph or Eddy Curry at this point (lets face it, they probably wouldn't so this is another fantasy trade): http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4636896 Toronto gets Zach Randolph to pair with Bosh in their frontcourt, Rip Hamilton as the star quality 2-guard that they have needed, and Jared Jeffries as a solid defender who makes the salaries match. Detroit gets Eddy Curry, who will help fill the hole in the middle when Wallace is traded. New York gets TJ Ford, Anthony Parker, Rasho Nesterovic and a couple of expiring deals; and they get to shed the payroll of Jeffries, Randolph and Curry. Actually the more I think about this one, I am convinced that Detroit won't do it, cause Curry is not a Dumars kinda guy.

    Pre-Sonics Sund

thanks for the info Sturt!~ I think Sund is wise enough to not jump into any crazy deals, but savvy enough to take a good deal if it is in the offing.
  22. Here's one that doesn't make sense at first, but actually probably works for both teams. Houston and Detroit. http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4632322 Houston: -4.7 ppg, +1.3 rpg, and -5.2 apg Detroit: +4.7 ppg, -1.3 rpg, and +5.2 apg Houston gets Wallace to team with Yao and Scola in the frontcourt, and both Wallace and Hamilton are more robust than Yao or TMac. Detroit gets TMac, who will make the fans happy. Atlanta, Detroit, and Indiana http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4632470 Atlanta: +21.8 ppg, +6.8 rpg, and +4.2 apg Detroit: -15.3 ppg, -5.2 rpg, and -5.3 apg Indiana: -6.5 ppg, -1.6 rpg, and +1.1 apg Atlanta gets Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Amir Johnson and Mike Dunleavy Jr. Detroit gets Jermaine O'Neal and Joe Johnson. Indiana gets Mike Bibby (and his expiring contract), and Rasheed Wallace. Atlanta is happy because they get the best backcourt in the East, and some nice young pieces in Dunleavy Jr and Amir Johnson. Detroit is happy because they can blow up their core and not look much worse off. If O'Neal is healthy then the lineup of J. O'Neal, A. McDyess, T. Prince, J. Johnson, R. Stuckey is probably better than what they had this past year(plus it gives Stuckey valuable time to blossom). Indiana is happy because they get rid of an injury plagued salary cap killer in O'Neal, and they get rid of a soft stiff coming off of a career year. Sell while the value is high! And Wallace and Bibby are good players, with a huge amount of expiring money between them. Indy gets to be a player in FA next season. I think everyone would be happy with this trade, but there are probably too many major pieces for each of the teams to really sign off on it. But you gotta admit, it is an interesting trade!
