  1. You can read the synopsis here. It has a lot more real world problems and issues than the ad would lead you to believe. Bridge to Terabithia on wikipedia
  2. I would say we must not: draft Brandan Wright draft Julian Wright and that is it. Anything else would be fine. I may not like it, but I wouldn't HATE it.
  3. 1. Oden - This seems to be the consensus 2. Durant - Although I am _really_ close to moving him up into the number 1 spot. 3. Horford - Big, powerful, is made for the post. 4. Conley - Fast, smart, good distributor. 5. Noah - I think his game translates to the pros a lot better than most experts think. 6. Brewer - Defense is important in the NBA, and that is what Corey brings. 7. Jeff Green - This guy has a nice all around game and brings you intangibles. 8. Nick Young - I think Young is gonna be the best first round rookie SG from the past five years. He is gonna fill it up, and score at will. He needs to work on his all-around game some, but putting the rock in the bucket is not a problem. 9. Rudy Fernandez - He can shoot. He plays solid D. He understands the game well and has solid fundamentals. This makes him the same as some other successful euros from the past few drafts. But his athleticism is first class, which gives him a nice american edge to his game. 10. Al Thornton - This guy slightly edges out Yi. I just don't like Yi JianLian or Brandan Wright, because I don't see their games translating to the NBA.
  4. I would say that if Law was taken instead of Conley then I would be pretty happy. I want to buy a Hawks jersey with "LAW IV" on the back. Is that too much to ask?
  5. I am definitely up for doing it again. We all get assigned a team and we do the draft, along with as much wheeling and dealing as possible. This should really be in the NBA draft forum though.
  6. I wanna buy my new Hawks Jersey with "LAW IV" on the back.
  7. Quote: Conley would have been perfect with Reggie Miller. Then we should trade for Reggie. I'm sure he is itching for a comeback!
  8. Hey all, I recently had my fantasy football draft on Yahoo Sports. I was wondering what you guys think of my team. QB - Trent Green WR - Randy Moss WR - Calvin Johnson WR - Santana Moss RB - LaDainian Tomlinson RB - Clinton Portis TE - L.J. Smith K - Jeff Wilkins Def - Minnesota Bench: QB - JP Losman WR - Deion Branch WR - Anthony Gonzalez RB - Edgerrin James RB - Julius Jones TE - Mercedes Lewis Also, it is a 10 man public league, and I had the number one pick. I am kinda weak at QB and TE, but those positions don't matter too much in fantasy.
  9. I will be watching the draft updates from home on the internet. I would come to phillips, but it's a long way from Australia to Georgia.
  10. Congratulations to the Spurs. And congratulations to Tony Parker, who has everything going his way right now.
  11. Yeah, if you look at it statistically we should definitely try to pick up Horry. He seems to be the common thread.
  12. Yeah, I don't mind one bit if we take Noah at #3. He would have been consensus top two last year. Some may call it a reach, but I think it is fine when you look at the alternatives. I would prefer Conley at 3 and Noah at 11 if possible, but this works for me too. If we make it known that we love Conley, then we select Noah at 3 then other teams may wonder why we passed. Maybe circulate a rumour of past achilles problems to make Conley drop to us at 11.
  13. Yeah, Sactown is the best chance of taking a PG before 11 I think. But I think they want a scorer so they may take LAW IV instead of Conley, even if he is still there.
  14. You have to take KG at that price. KG + JJ, and solid contributors in Shellhead and Law IV equals challenge for winning the east NEXT YEAR. And not having a bad chance in the Finals. Smoove, Speedy, Lue, Lo and #3 isn't too much of a cost. This is a top three player in the league. And if we can get Foye too, then that helps too.
  15. I see Conley putting up something along the lines of: 10.1 PPG 1.2 STL 1.8 TO 5.9 AST 2.5 REB FG% 39 3PT% 28 FT% 82 And I see Law IV doing something more like: 11.8 PPG 0.8 STL 1.8 TO 4.5 AST 2.5 REB FG% 42 3PT% 41 FT% 88 I think that all the players on the team are helped by either guy, because adding a real point will improve our ball movement. But Conley should help Childress and to a lesser extent Smoove. And Law IV should help Joe and to a lesser extent Marvin. I see around 34-42 wins assuming health and regardless of PG.
  16. Want: LAW IV (and Noah) Don't Want: Either Wright
  17. Yep, trade Smoove for a big, like maybe Andrew Bogut. Then take Conley and Noah. PG Mike Conley SG Joe Johnson SF Marvin Williams PF Joakim Noah C Andrew Bogut I see Noah as being a similar kind of stat sheet filler as Smoove, only taller, better defensively, and without the many bricked threes. We could get Mil to throw in a second round pick to that deal too.
  18. So maybe we do need to trade Josh Smith for a good defensive/rebounding center. Then we just need to draft a PG, and we can take BPA with the other pick, because we will have legit talent at every position.
  19. yep, no way I take B Wright, or J Wright. I think I prefer the Conley at 3, then BPA at 11 approach. But the Yi at 3, Law at 11 approach is not too bad. If you guys really want a center then maybe we can deal our 11 pick to philly for their two late first rounders and use one of them on Aaron Gray.
  20. my home PC is broken right now, but once it is fixed, I will sign up to this and try out the college hoops one.

yeah, I feel like it took my innocence!
  22. I'm giving them JJ, Smoove, 3 and 11 for #2 and Ridnour. PG Ridnour SG Chillz SF Marvin PF Shellhead C Oden I like that team. Plus, we can add someone in free agency, they will be far more willing to come to this team if we have the kind of solid core that this lineup would give us. Unfortunately it is just a pipe dream!
  23. I really like Josh Smith. but I have to admit that I am intrigued by the prospect of: PG LAW SG J JOHNSON SF M WILLIAMS PF B WRIGHT/YI JIANLIAN C Whoever we can trade Smoove for. But because Smoove is truly a franchise level player we would need to get someone awesome back. JO and picks. Kaman. Bynum. Howard and we throw in some filler. It is so cool that there are so many interesting scenarios for the hawks. Hopefully the ownership doesn't tie BK's hands.
  24. But his softness will be covered up by the toughness and size of Oden. These two make a great post pairing, finesse and power! Offense and defense (until Oden gets a few more post moves). I am quickly becoming a bit of a Blazer fan. They will almost definitely want to give up Zach Randolph. The two teams I see taking Randolph on are Chicago (they need interior scoring), or New York(always willing to spend money on selfish head-cases). If Portland wants our #3, then they can give Randolph to the Bulls/Knicks. We can get Duhon or Frye or Crawford and some future picks. Or maybe Duhon and the 9. And we give our 3 to Portland. I see Atlanta and Portland both improving by huge leaps and bounds this offseason!
  25. What if we take Conley at 3, and then Sean Williams out of BC with the 11. He has character issues, and so he is expected to drop down to the 20's, but I think he is a lottery talent level player. He is probably the second best center remaining in the draft (after Oden). It all depends on what height he measures out as. If he is really 6-11 235 pounds, then he has to be considered. Conley reminds me of Rod Strickland actually.
