  1. I like Toney but he is a combo at best. Offensively he is a 2, defensively a 1,2,3. I really like his energy and defense though. I do like he and Kirk on the court together with kirk playing the 2 defensively.
  2. How reachable is Stuckey or Prince? Of course I'm a fan of Reggie Evans and Shannon Brown. Big questions. With Kirk out, will Sy emerge as that diamond point? We do HAVE to get a point to begin the season. Is the MLE waiting here for JJ Berea? Is Cynk coming over and what happened to Serg?
  3. With AI, we may need a different kind of coach. (enter Larry Brown).
  4. On the other hand what?
  5. It amazes me what I see and hear from Broussard. It amazes that he is national.
  6. Can you expand("Stephen A. Smith lies a lot") ?
  7. Posted 25 August 2009 - 09:47 AM These guys have to have the highest ceiling of potential than any forward duo in the league. I've said it before, Marvin with his length and girth may be better served as a 4/3 guy than a 3 or 3/4 guy. Josh with handles and a mid-range jumper (think bank shot) he could dominate 3's forever. As they develope and mature I see both moving inside to out and vice-versa. I have an image of Marvin having a "ShawnKempish" kinda thing ready to evolve. Maybe I'm dreaming.
  8. music folks got more money than athletes. I can see DuPree and Diddy but will need another entity. Call McDavid. music folks got more money than athletes. I can see DuPree and Diddy but will need another entity. Call McDavid.
  9. We do not use it. If we use it on Marvin we have to replace him and still pay him. It is better to keep Marvin and use the money which would have been to Marvin and go into the luxery tax and get value. See, if we amnest Marvin we will still fill up the cap and pay Marvin. Better to keep him and spend into the cap. It would be the same money and we'll have Marvin.</p>
  10. It seems the guys closest to retirement or in that last contract are the ones trying to milk the most of the BRI and a possible next contract that might put a team over the cap (those inclined to the luxury tax). I'm sure some of the young guys with mid or low contracts and families are ready to go to work. Brand remarked a week or so that the leadership (players) will not allow a mass vote. Fisher said "the easy thing would be to accept the offer and go to work". We know what guys can afford to sit, they are the ones loudest.
  11. You and both of those players are outside of your minds. With all the reasons why not the one to stop is, the players can never make half (50%)
  12. I was told the owners will accept a 51-49 split. Interesting to me, if the players agree to reduce their salaries by ten percent (shaving dollars of the caps) the owners would gladly accept 52-48. The players would get it right back with the next contracts. See the owners cant help themselves and the caps would again be topped. That difference in the BRI would allow the owners to help there undisciplined arses to pay their luxery tax. So what the players give them (or back), they will soon get it back.
  13. I believe the magic number is 51-49. And then they can play in the gym.
  14. Again this is what the owners want. http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/steve_aschburner/09/20/revenue-sharing-still-vital/?ls=iref:nbahpt1
  15. 5.7 million 'Cyde. The owners do not want a "Hard Cap", it is a smoke screen. The owners want to reduce the players 57%-43% of basketball related income. The owners want to reduce it to 53-47 or closer to 50-50. The owners do not want to pay the luxery tax. They want to take the difference in BRI and install a merit-bonus type incentive to pay salaries over the cap. That is what they want. They are after the BRI to pay for over the cap salary. To do that is to introduce revenue sharing of that said difference in BRI.If reduced to 52-48 that difference is 5%. That 5% spread to the 32 teams represents the amount of payables over the cap. NOBODY wants a hard cap, not even the owners.
  16. Well creatively thinking, a S&T involving Jamal for a piece to go with Marvin may get Kamen. Reggie for less than the mle with a backend increase and the MLE for Shannon.
  17. You're right, Durant might ask for a trade. With Josh's age and talent, his case could be an exception.
  18. A third team may be used to achieve a trade for Kamen. Perhaps a sign and trade using Jamal and with Marvin. Something like Jamal to OKC for Collison to the Clips with Marvin.
  19. In my opinion, this Al/Josh comparison is divisive and ineffective. We are very fortunate to have them both. Neither are perfect but not finished in their developments. I believe they can play together for the good. Offensive and defensive schemes should be optimized to accomodate these two and the rest of the players as they hit the court. Offensively thinking, Al's strength is the mid-high range jumper. So be it, allow and employ it. LD's offense allows it. As Al pops out, Josh needs to operate mid-to-low. I know youse know this and it has been well noted. Also noted is we Have to have a post presence, in that offense. It is why I like Kamen. He rebounds and he scores in the post. Kamen is perfect for this team. Defensively Al does very well in the post except for the 3 or 4 guys that are bigger and active. Guys like Dwight, Lopez, Noah, Bogut and Gasol to mention. Again a bigger body such as Kamen in tandem is needed. To further maximize will be for Josh to commit to defending the three position. Mastering the footwork and understanding fully lanes and helping. Joe ain't going nowhere and good for it. With Kirk and Teague, Joe should be even more dangerous as he prime's. See, we have some very very strong parts, Stronger than most understand. I believe if we can pull moces to get a "Kamen", Reggie Evans" and a "Shannon Brown" added to the previous mentioned hawks plus Zaza and Damien we can challenge for the title.
  20. Challenging teams instead of fading. Josh got face to face, elbow to elbow in the last playoffs. If you are not impressed by his attack playoff zone, you just hating. Al did not engage.
  21. Woody did not draft Jamal, Bibs or Zaza. Did Woody help draft anyone? Players definitely have to impliment "schemes". Not like the 2K game.
  22. Really? The playoffs are what matters. The shrink factor is underated.
