Nique21
I have just been noticing that everytime we add a new player (Dickau, Big Dawg, Ham), they say that we have been looking at him for a long time. They say things like, we haved always liked his game, we like this and that, and we have been interested in him for a long time now. This may be true in all 3 cases, but the wording is getting old. If we wake up tomorrow and have a new guy on the team, I hope they just don't say we have been interested in that player for a long time. It just seems that we are interested in everybody. Gray Mule
Teams just don't trade for or sign players that they are not interested in. Also, I'm sure that each team knows what type of player that they think will fit in with the players that they already have. When a player fits the profile that we are looking for, then we become interested in obtaining that player. One player that I would personally put on the top of my wish list for the Hawks to obtain is Shane Battier. Most of you might get tired of the old Gray Mule posting his name over and over, but dang, I'd sure like to get him! Good defender, great athlete, a true team player, and one who can score from any where, willing to hustle and can rebound some. Not a head case, but smart. A good citizen like SAR & J.T. My kind of person & player. Gray Mule
Traceman
having Battier at the two at all. I think he would fit very well but I don't see Memphis giving him up for anything we would be willing to offer. I agree with you on all of Battier's qualities except the part about being a great athlete. I think he's a GOOD athlete but I don't think he's a great athlete. He's kind of like Reef in that department. Both are good, solid athletes but they aren't nearly as athletic as some of their contemporaries. They both make up for not having top flight athletcism with having superior basketball skills.
