exodus
Their starting center is Hibbert, who is 7'2". He was so ineffective they took him out and played without a center.

exodus
Did you see the game? He was double and sometimes triple teamed every time he touched the ball.
Squawker24
Can't seem to find anything on LaMarcus Aldridge's back problems, but he did undergo successful hip surgery in the spring (March 1) Quote: underwent surgery on March 1 which successfully repaired torn cartilage in his hip (surgery performed by Dr. Marc Philippon in Vail, Colorado) …
Squawker24
So are you making excuses for him now?
exodus
Excuses? So getting double and triple teams should have no effect on his scoring? Obviously you didn't watch the game.
exodus
From NBADraft.net Aldridge has been the most dominant bigman prospect in the nation thus far. After missing half of last year with a hip injury which required surgery, Aldridge worked hard in the offseason adding weight without losing his agility and quickness. He's up to 245 pounds and appears much stronger and tougher on the low block. A model of consistency, Aldridge has averaged 17.4 points and 10.4 rebounds through 8 games, with double digits in scoring in every game and rebounding in all but one. While Aldridge has looked very good and has been tabbed by some as a possible number one pick, the likelihood of that happening is diminished by the fact that he wont check out in an NBA physical. He still has lingering health issues related to both his hip surgery and his back. His history of back problems, which kept him from declaring for the draft out of high school remains an issue for him.
Squawker24
I love it when you pull the "Did you even watch the game?" card. It's a classic.

Doesn't seem to bother Redick. Nor did it bother Tim Duncan.
hotboyj
Nowhere does it state he is still having trouble with his back or hip. It says barring a back injury or collapse in ncaa tourney he is a lock to be a top 5 pick. http://draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=55 It is a pretty good read and in the links section they have an article called, Marquee Matchup: Lamarcus Aldridge v. Shelden Williams. Clearly these guys think he will be good and have him best case jermaine oneal, worst case channing frye. Ok now for Shelden Willians, there is one Ben Wallace. There are certain people in certain situations in which they are successful. There is no way that Shelden Williams is as athletic as Ben Wallace. He may be a decent player but he isn't going to be an all-star. He doesn't have the potential. I really want Aldridge, but knowing the hawks everyone pray for rudy gay. exodus
Quote: Doesn't seem to bother Redick. Nor did it bother Tim Duncan. It is much harder to double a perimeter player, which is why they weren't doubling Redick. And it did bother Duncan when he was in college. He turned it over a lot and didn't pass well out of double teams, even as a senior.
Southern_Bred
Shelden seems to have very long arms and good timing but he is not that athletic. I also seriously doubt that he has a 35 inch vertical cause that is on the level of Dwight Howard. He should not be a top five pick for our team, we need some height badly, someone like Alderidge. exodus
I agree that Aldridge is the best pro-prospect. But after him who do you like for the Hawks?
KB21
And Williams isn't anywhere near as athletic nor does he have the upside that Thomas has.
exodus
Quote: And Williams isn't anywhere near as athletic nor does he have the upside that Thomas has. Part of athleticism is strength, and I would bet that Sheldon is and will always be stronger than Thomas. Explain to me how Thomas is a shot blocking maven and Williams isn't, since they are blocking the same number of shots.
Southern_Bred
Thomas plays 5 less minutes(26.5) than Williams(31.5) a game but has a better rebounding average.
KB21
You want to know the difference? Thomas is just a freshman, whereas Williams is a senior.
