Splitter's buy out

Talk out of Portland sounds like Splitter's contract may be more reasonable to buy out. He is more mature, has defensive presence and is a legit 6'11" or 7 ft. If some of the guys above him don't come out . . . . he could be a decent pick for us.

yeah I would really like to get him if we can buy him out. Doesn't sound like his "best case" is quite as good as bargnani's, but he fits our needs much better. Toughness, good D, etc...

He was at the 2004 NBA combine and he is tall, measuring

6'10.25" without shoes. His standing reach is 9'1.5". For comparison purposes:

Marvin 9'

Bogut 9'2.5"

Okafor 9'2.5"

Howard 9'3.5"

Diogu 9'1"

Frye 9'2.5"

Problem is that he weight 233 and apparently hasn't gained much weight.

I don't know if he went through the athletic tests.

Hasn't he been on mock drafts the past 4 years, and always pulled out? I think he'll pull out again.
