Guest
Atlanta trades: SF Dion Glover (8.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 18.0 minutes) C Nazr Mohammed (2.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.1 apg in 10.5 minutes) SF Glenn Robinson (20.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.0 apg in 37.9 minutes) Atlanta receives: SG Anfernee Hardaway (10.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.6 apg in 31.1 minutes) SG Joe Johnson (6.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 19.7 minutes) C Jake Voskuhl (2.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.5 apg in 12.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: -11.2 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and +2.8 apg. Phoenix trades: SG Anfernee Hardaway (10.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.6 apg in 31.1 minutes) SG Joe Johnson (6.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 19.7 minutes) C Jake Voskuhl (2.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.5 apg in 12.4 minutes) Phoenix receives: SF Dion Glover (8.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 25 games) C Nazr Mohammed (2.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.1 apg in 8 games) SF Glenn Robinson (20.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.0 apg in 28 games) Change in team outlook: +11.2 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and -2.8 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED It frees them of one of their big contracts (Penny), and their lesser center...Dion for Johnson was essentially just a throw in, a change of scenery for both of them. Most importantly for them, it gives them a serviceable bigman and another scorere. The biggest downside is whether Marion could play well at the 2...? For us, it gives us another big guard, some athleticism, and three point shooting. Honestly, Wilks is a nice stopgap, but he isn't the answer. I have even more questions as to whether we'll even keep him through the week with the return of Dickau...thoughts?
jezmund
I think we are giving up too much. Johnson isn't that much of an improvement over Glover and Nazr is a good bit better than Jake. I would consider a HEALTHY Penny for Big Dog a good trade but not an injured Penny. Guest
is Penny hurt right now? He's actually been playing pretty well this year....
Premium Member Diesel Posted December 30, 2002 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 30, 2002 This trade is not bad... IF Phoenix throws in a first. The problem is... I don't think Phoenix would take in Big Dog. They don't need him when they have Matrix. However, if you could trade Big Dog for a 2 of equal value, maybe this deal goes...
