We need to prepare for some pain

This season may be one of the most painful to sit through. We don't have a high upside rookie to disract us, no littany of excuses to absolve us.

We simply have a poorly designed and coached team. Yes, things will look up from time to time, but this is a flawed team. It addresses it's lack of talent and interior defense by getting mid-level EX type role-player talent with a 5th overall pick that can be fouled out or played over the top of. It trades it's only post option for peanuts. It's "Pg" (and yes, Speedy deserves some time) doesn't resemble one to date and appears even more of a combo guard (without a shot) than Roy or Foye.

Anyhow, the pain won't just be this season, but in the fixing of this flawed, poorly constructed team. It may be a need for Re-rebuilding would be in order if new ownership would come in, but current ownership cannot afford to look the fool and go through this again. Anyhow, it will take BIG changes, painful ones to right this team and give them any real shot at contention. It's not just about one game, but this one game expresses what concerns we should all have. We may have some pain to endure this season, and if we are to fix it, afterwards.

I don't think we have to rebuild again.. If nothing else we have cap space and a ton of young and valuble trade assets, so we're not in a bad position.

We won't have as much cap space as you think when the salaries all increase (save Speedy's) and without a lottery pick we'll be stealing from our wealth (young talent) to gamble to get rich. Better to have used a 5th pick on something of value to the team as SW is not or the league as SW has none. Better to have gotten something (Artest?...5 steals tonight...that'll help a defense) for Harrington. Better...alot of things.

We're not absent capitol, but we don't have enough to build a contender given our position.

It ain't the players. We have players a lot of people would like to have. It's how they are coached. I hate to bring it up again, but Boris Diaw was an example of how poor coaching can de-motivate and mess up a player.

On the plus side, if this game is indicative of the season - then we'll get to keep our draft pick this year and get Oden or Hawes.
