I've never understood why radio stations have to power down at night. I'm sure this has been explained in great detail at some point here, but your post was the first one I've ever seen with even a hint at the reason why.

Could you please expand on it?

I listen to MNF on 1530 out of Cincinnati on the way home from work. I work in South Carolina. LOL
