If Selim doesn't play any pre-season game, he may not penetrate the rotation for a long time.

I wonder how Matt Friege's doing? If it weren't for Stern switching balls last year (and throwing off his outside shooting), he might have stuck with the team.

Freije is playing in Germany for the Artland Dragons (2nd place last year and currently 3-1), he's averaging 8.8 pts (only fifth best on his team, they expect more from him) and 5.5 reb while shooting 40.7% from the field.

By the way ex-Hawk Dijon Thompson is playing for my hometown team and he is rocking so far 16.5 pts, 7 reb, 2.5 ast, 1.5 stl, 61.9.% FG and a league leading 22.75 average efficiency. He had one really perfect game with 22 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl 6-6 2FG, 3-3 3FG, 1-1 FT and 35 efficiency.

The way I am looking at it. If they are not releasing any info on Zaza. Then his injury isn't too serious. There wasn't a big deal being made about the other injuries.

First time I can remember when we have two guys out and we're not hitting the panic button. it will give more time for the rookies to get their feet on the ground. Nice to have that depth.

Thanks BD. I remember Freije had a bunch of in-and-outs from the perimeter as a Hawk and just didn't hit the shots as some had hoped. Oddly, he was a pretty good positional rebounder (as far as blocking out his man) and a fairly savvy looking player for his size. Maybe he'll get his stroke going for Artland before long and be a bigger contributor.
