Highpozt
Should the Hawks even look??? --- physically we are very lite in the middle. Can Zach and/or Curry be had at a small price in regards to trade and more importantly what is left on their contracts. Pieces that are tradeable for the Hawks are not very attractive Lue, Shelden Williams, Solomom Jones. The only attractive piece we have would be Childress and is he more of a asset to us than a Curry or Randolph???
DawsonsCreek
Im real skeptikal of taking garbage(randolph just got in NY and now the want to trade him? LOL) from a garbage team. We dont need anyones trash to set us back 2 or 3 more years.
JackB1
Curry could help us and free up Al to play more at the #4. If the price is reasonable, I would try to get him.
DJlaysitup
Before long we need to get Horford minutes at PF one way or the other. It's really not fair to his development offensively for him to have to go up against 7-footers all the time when he could be developing the offensive skills for the position that he will likely spend 80% of his NBA career at. I'm not saying that A.H. will be a monster offensively right off the bat at the PF at all - only that he needs to be working as a rookie in the office he will be spending his career in. Highpozt
It is all about how much you have to give up and also how much you have to take on contract wise. If that is reasonable then Hawks should consider the benefits. Heres the problem ---- Zach and Horford are similar Zach could play 5 while Horford plays 4 but then either Marvin or Zach are coming off the bench. Zach has a better outside shot than Horsford but about equal to Williams. Curry would pose a different issue he is definitely the 5 but then you are sharing minutes with Marvin, Smoove and Horford. Curry makes more since because you get a legitimate 5. In the east that buys you a lot. Still what is the price
MikeWilksBooth
Zach at the 5 would be a disaster
Guest
Would you do this trade? ZaZa, LoWright, Speedy, Shellhead, Lue, Chilz for Crawford, Curry, and Malik Rose. We get a combo guard (Crawford) who can hit threes reasonably well. We get a low post scorer who doesn't have to play great defense. We get a back-up PF to replace Shellhead and LoWright. We trade Speedy's bad contract for one that has one less year on it (Malik Rose's). Curry - 36 mpg at Center Horford - 12 mpg at Center, 24 mpg at PF Smoove - 24 mpg at PF, 12 mpg at SF Marvin - 36 mpg at SF Joe - 36 mpg at SG Crawford - 12 mpg at SG, 16 mpg at PG Acie (or AJ) - 32 mpg at PG Bench = AJ (or Acie), West, Salim in the backcourt Solo, Rose at Center and PF. Fill it the roster this year with more scrubs, next year with 2nd round draft choice or MLE (if ASG would spend it). Resign AJ to a modest contract and sign Smoove to a new contract (even if it is at the max) and still not be in luxury tax area. When it is time to resign Marvin, Malik Rose's contact would be coming off the books. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...1~1~1&te=&cash=
TheDude
having horford at the 4 won't help if the guy we get to put at the 5 can't defend any better than horford at the 5...
Johnnybravo4
I think that a front line including Horford and Smith has more than enough D.
Dragitoff
there's no way New York does that. They've said openly they want to keep Crawford. To get Crawford, they certainly wouldn't take back Speedy's deal.....of course this is New York we're talking about.
