Coming home: Bucks to hire Milwaukee native Porter (8-5-03).

http://espn.go.com/nba/columns/stein_marc/1590459.html

ESPN.com has learned that Porter beat out Phoenix Suns assistant coach Marc Iavaroni and Atlanta Hawks interim coach Terry Stotts in the race to replace George Karl.

Stotts served as a Bucks assistant under Karl for four seasons -- and for five seasons before that in Seattle -- before joining Atlanta as an assistant to Lon Kruger last season. Stotts took over as Hawks coach after Kruger was fired Dec. 26 and went 24-31 for the rest of the season. The sale of the Hawks to Dallas businessman David McDavid is still not completed, but it's expected that Stotts will receive strong consideration from new ownership to stay in his current job.

Clippers should have given Dennis Johnson a chance (8-5-03).

Now, Johnson will look for a job as a scout, an assistant or, he hopes, a head coach. He is not on the candidate list in Milwaukee, but he would be a good fit in Atlanta. Johnson is careful to say he is not campaigning for the job, out of respect for Hawks interim coach Terry Stotts -- Johnson obviously can sympathize with him.

Atlanta - If the Hawks make only one more move this offseason, it needs to be adding a point guard. The Hawks currently have three candidates to run the show on their roster, but are any of them the answer?

DUNCE CAP: The worst thing about any salary cap, says King Kaufman of Salon.com, is that it “leads to so much tedious maneuvering. I’m trying to picture that kid in Atlanta reading the paper: ‘Hey, Ma, the Hawks just got Terrell Brandon! His knee’s too messed up to ever play again, but in seven months his salary comes off the books. Oh boy, I can’t wait!’”

As usual for the news..

Like the poll though, actually seems like a fair accurate description of which home games will generate alot of interest.

I actually agree though, I think the nuggets @ hawks will be a more fun game to watch then spurs @ hawks.

Thought they should have included the timberwolves, now that's a team I want to see upcoming season.
