Atlanta - If the Blazers continue to come calling with trade offers, the Hawks should turn and run as fast as possible. The last thing Atlanta needs is another Isaiah Rider fiasco by bringing on Rasheed Wallace or Ruben Patterson.

Griz's hunt for center not over (8-14-03).

It is believed the Griz are working toward a deal that would net either Atlanta's Nazr Mohammed or Golden State's Adonal Foyle or Erick Dampier.

Also, Seattle reportedly is willing to part with Jerome James or Vitaly Potapenko.

Conventional wisdom suggests that Griz guards Brevin Knight and Wesley Person are valuable trade bait because their contracts end after the 2003-04 season.

West offered no specifics.

London Towers signed former NBA guard Ed Gray today.

The 27-year-old Californian, who was with the Atlanta Hawks from 1997 to 1999.

Head coach Robbie Peers said: "Ed has plenty of talent. He is a scorer, with a scorer's mentality, he can hit the outside shot, but is particularly strong going to the basket.

"He has the potential to be a very good player and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Our SG problems could be solved with one call to England! Ed Gray just signed with London Towers but he might be available for the right price. I'm sure it would take a tremendous amount of money to buy out his contract ala Milicic and Lampe, but for the chance to see Ed light up the NBA, it would be well worth the money. Where is my main man Big Balla when you need him? I'm sure he would support bringing Ed back. Everyone knows that he should have been starting in place of Smitty but Lenny just didn't like playing the young guys. I think I'll write Billy Knight right now and tell him to go get Ed.

Trace, I was a huge early ed supporter. I remember him lighting it up (no pun intended) in the LIfe college rookie camp where he no one could check him. At that camp, Ed's O game was as impressive as JT's at said camp. Lenny drove Ed to the pipe with his inconsistant rotations and early chain jerks. Ed could have been in this league for years as a Vinnie Johnson like bench player if Lenny had used him properly. If he is clean I would consider giving him a camp invite right now. I am sure I will get blasted for this, oh well.
