DJlaysitup
Just a fun post on BBQ preferences (maybe I can get some new ideas) Personally I have a Char-Broil smoker and a Weber grill (both charcoal). I use the smoker for larger occasions but this 4th it looks like just me and a friend. I'm doing: Best two T-Bones I can find, marinated in Worchstershire sauce an hour before cooking. I prefer the T-Bones to be big, but not that thick - so a hot fire can sear them easily on both sides within a few minutes. Corn on the cob with some shuck left on around the edges of the grill Baked potatos w/butter and sour cream (I do them in the microwave - Horrors!) Red wine (chilled) Note: While I start the charcoal briquets with regular lighter fluid (Royal Oak odorless) I let the first batch of coals burn down about halfway and then add more to prevent any petrol smell from getting into the food. Happy 4th of July! GO HAWKS!! Edited July 1, 2010 by DJlaysitup
dms269
On the 3rd we are going to have Fillet (Kroger had it on sale this week), salad, and a baked potato because our town is having their fireworks and we can see it from near our house. For Fathers Day we got my father a infrared turkey fryer, so for the 4th we are going to cook a whole picnic ham in it.
