Can JJ readjust contract to help bring in FA?

Last I check we are over the salary cap or near the cap preventing us from signing free agents such as Shaq. My question is, can JJ adjust how much he makes this year and next year to help us spend $2-3 extra million to sign these players? He talks about wanting to get more players to join us, that would be a start. There are still some great FA's left and we could certainly use 1-2 more pieces.

This isn't the NFL, it's like Baseball, you will never see that happen.

The problem isn't the cap- its the luxury tax. JJ giving up money doesn't help with the cap whatsoever. And for JJ to give the Hawks 3 million in room this season it would cost him 23 million dollars over the life of the contract to where he would have been better off signing with the Bulls.
