Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted September 25, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted September 25, 2010 http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=17412 This year the ranking of NBA General Managers presents an unusual challenge. Despite a flurry of trade rumors in the media which might make one forget about the impending lock-out expected to occur at the end of this season, the NBA is headed towards a potential hard cap disaster for any GM that hasn't prepared. NBA Commissioner David Stern has made it very clear that the next collective bargaining agreement "CBA" will include a hard salary cap and revenue sharing with the players will be reduced from 57 percent to 50 percent or lower. Don't act like we were not warned. Looking Good 12. Atlanta Hawks – Rick Sund – Executive Vice President and General Manager Rick Sund has built a playoff team, a team that can win 50 games and be a proud representative of their city. That Joe Johnson was overpaid this summer probably isn't worthy of debate, but if Sund had not done it, someone else would have, and the Hawks would not be expected to win 50 games this year. Going forward, Sund has his team in good shape to continue as a playoff team, and while some would suggest that this isn't good enough, building a perennial playoff team with limited financial resources is a praise-worthy accomplishment. ~lw3
