Parker/Powell

I'm glad to see Smush Parker and Josh Powell invited to training camp. I think Parker might make Dickau expendable if a trade calls for him to be included. I thought Powell was a solid player for NC State with solid athleticism. He's probably a SF/PF tweener but could put on some weight to solidify his PF position. It's also nice to see DJ's name mentioned as a possible invitee.

He has good size and good athleticism for a PG. Actually, I'd would rather have seen us give him a shot rather than bring back JV because JV is limited as to what he will be able to bring to the table.

I like Smush too, but do we need him? JV is a solid backup vet with a nice handle. If we signed Smush we'd be doing it on potential...he's still pretty raw. There's a reason why he wasn't drafted last year.

take a chance on Parker's potential than to watch JV do nothing. JV won't turn the ball over much but he won't make a lot of plays either. If a PG starved team like the Magic didn't want him back, that is enough for me to realize that he's nothing special. I think JV is a great guy but I just don't think he's a very good PG.

Ageed! Why Vaughn was brought back is totally not

understandable. I didn't think much of Parker to start

out with. But after I seen him alittle abit he appeared

to be decent. But he's just young and the Cavs let him

go because they have way too many young guys already

and they really need a PG with some experience.

Smush Parker's stats..he actually has good height for a

PG... But only weighs 180 pounds. he is about 6'5. But he

sure does turn it over alot in a small number of minutes.

Traceman, I wouldn't exactly call Orlando PG starved, with Lue, Gaines (and TMac setting up the offense half the time) I think they're set. They just didn't need JV. I would've rather we signed Rod Strickland or Kenny Anderson, but who knows what Knight is thinking. I would definitely take Smush over Dickau, but looks like Dickau will be riding the pine.

Some say he is just another white guy that has hopes

of playing in the N.B.A. After seeing him last season,

we begin to wonder about this.

He WAS injured and missed quiet a bit of time. This injury

slowed him down and he wasn't the fastest man alive

before the injury.

If he is 100 % well now, we could see a different player

than what we saw last season. He is no super athlete

but he is a smart individual and now has a year's

experience. He may not be the greatest thing since

sliced bread, but he may not be as terrible as some

fans have him pictured.

I too have always like Smush Parker. This guy is a great defender. He is very strong and athletic. Has a very good upside. He seemed to give JT problems all year last year. He would be a good pick up. Powell is good, but I'd rather sign DJ.

perhaps we'll have a 15 roster now, and sign Powell, Parker, Jackson, Dion and DJ while waiving TB or am I forgetting someone?
