Record - 0-3

Game 2 - Thursday, June 9

Washington Mystics 98, Atlanta Dream 90

Atlanta once again couldn't hold a second half lead and dropped their second straight game in overtime to start the season. The Dream couldn't overcome Washington's 31-42 showing from the free throw line when combined with 23 Atlanta turnovers.

Erika De Souza led the Dream with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Iziane Castro Marques had 16 points for the Dream. Angel McCoughtry made her season debut playing three minutes in the first half and finishing with two points and two steals.

Crystal Langhorne, Nicky Anosike, and Matee Ajavon combined to score 83 points for Washington.

Due to injuries and a lack of time on the court together, the Dream have struggled at both ends of the floor throughout their first two games of the season. Coach Meadors commented after the game about their lack of chemistry on the floor and that things would improve once McCoughtry was back at full strength and Lindsey Harding has had more time to gel with the team.

Game 3 - Saturday, June 11

San Antonio Silver Stars 86, Atlanta Dream 74

Atlanta dropped its third consecutive game and the first of a three game road trip that will take them to New York and Minnesota next week. Like in the first two games of the season, the Dream built an early lead but failed to execute neither offensively or defensively down the stretch ultimately falling 86-74.

Offensively it was a struggle even with Angel McCoughtry playing her first substantial minutes of the season. McCoughtry finished with a team high 19 points but was just 7 for 18 from the field. Coco Miller scored 13 points off the bench and Sancho Lyttle tossed in 12 for the Dream.

Atlanta's offensive struggles appeared to carry over to the defensive side as they struggled to contain Silver Stars rookie Danielle Adams who had a game high 32 points. Ruth Riley added 12 points while Becky Hammon finished with eight points and eight assists.
