A few hours before Atlanta's Game 1 playoff victory over the Connecticut Sun, the team announced that it had signed forward Sancho Lyttle to a multi-year contract extension. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but the deal will keep the former All-Star in Atlanta for the foreseeable future.

Lyttle has appeared in 22 games and is averaging 10 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per contest. She missed six games while she fulfilled a commitment with the Spanish National Team and then missed six more games with a back injury once she returned to the Dream. It is no coincidence that Atlanta's turnaround to the season coincided with Lyttle's return to full strength.

"We are happy a player of her caliber is excited to re-sign here," said Dream General Manager & Head Coach Marynell Meadors. "Sancho is a great player and she's been a huge reason for our success. She's such a versatile player with the offensive skill set she has and also what she brings to this team defensively. She's only going to continue to elevate her game."

"More than anything I am excited," said Lyttle. "It's nice to know I will be part of this franchise's future as we continue to build our team and contend for a championship."

The Dream and Sancho Lyttle will be back in action on Sunday afternoon at Philips Arena as they try to eliminate second seeded Connecticut from the WNBA Playoffs.
