Premium Member Diesel Posted October 13, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 Not a good look for Joe. Makes it sound like Joe is part of the problem .
Gray Mule
Joe Johnson is being paid super star money. He doesn't qualify. He's good. He's very good. He's not great. Why is he being paid super star money? Because the powers that be in the front office in Atlanta over reacted when they were scared that one of these major cities were going to take him away from us. It's not really JJ's fault. He's taking what they were willing to pay. The fault is in the system that allows these major teams to intimidate these lesser teams into overpaying their players. (Atlanta being lesser)
Eddielives
I love to hear Joe being called out for what he is. A glowing example of our franchise panicking and overpaying a player just to remain mediocre to pretty good. Something else that would help the NBA, the league needs contraction and Atlanta and any market that has traditionally had a hard time luring top-tier free agents would benefit from that. Sacramento and New Orleans should be eliminated. It wouldn't hurt to take Memphis and Oklahoma away as well. Toronto maybe?
