Batum is a step below George in the way that Vern Troyer is shorter than Shaq.

Your opinion only . Batum is a promising young SF and there is not much of a difference between the two as you speak of . You probably couldn't name 4 SF in between where you rank George and put Batum LebronDurant MeloGeorge Gayand then Leonard? Batum and Parsons

Uhh Batum isn't even in the same league as George and it's not even close. Sorry but the other posters who know you from the Falcons boards are right and you're not gonna have a long stay here I can see.

I told you, he had a significant wrist injury last season. His numbers before that injury were drool worthy. I know. I had him on my fantasy team and in our Hawksquawk league I had ppl sending me daily trade offers for him. Then he got hurt and he literally couldn't even shoot the ball with his injured hand. It was painful to watch him play. I'm not a stats geek but someone can find his PER and numbers pre injury and post injury and you can see the slide.

Sothron, he's had FOUR STRAIGHT SEASONS where he's gotten progressively worse. You gonna tell me he was injured all that time?

Batum Win Shares Per 48 over the past 4 seasons - .181 > .126 > .127 > 0.99

Well obviously there has been a strong undercurrent of Batum fans who I just haven't noticed in my normal reading and posting.

I'll have to do some Batum research since 100 or so posts have referred to him (even though he apparently isn't even a free agent).

Is he dating a hot model?

I'm fairly sure he's dating the new guy Swift.

I just don't buy the argument that someone is better than KK because of versatility, when said versatility does not actually lead to wins. It would be like comparing Teague to Howard. Teague does so many more things that DH can't: drive the lane, distribute, defend points, shoot from outside, run an offense, etc etc etc. Howard does like 2 things, but he is so good at those things that he is the better player. Same with Korver: he only does a couple things, but he is world class at them.

You keep comparing different types of players and clearly have no education on how economics work

Actually I only brought up Blazers are paying 10 mil for a promising young SF that can be built around that does everything on court and we're paying Korver to be a 3 pt specialist for 6 mil on a non contender there is no value in that

Swift: 3 pt shots are worth 3 pts. You need points to win games, and scoring 3 pts at a time is actually a good way to get lots of points. How is that not valuable? A 3 point shot is worth somewhere in the range of 150% of a 2 point shot. That's a lot!Do you follow?

The Hawks once paid $7 million for a promising young SF that they could build around that does everything on the court. He's playing in Utah now and coming off of their bench I believe.

Gosh I wonder what the Blazers have been a bad team, paying Batum $10 per season...

Blazers have a much better future then Hawks .. that's for sureBatum, Lillard and Aldridge , CJ McCollum > Teague , Korver and Horford Blazers are a Defensive C away and coach away from being a real good team

A six million isn't that muchB have you heard of things like intangibles leadership and setting a good example? KK does this kinda stuff he's a family man who can show young players how to step out of the club and into the crib so to speak. C he can be traded for more draft picks and assets which could in theory be used to trade up for a lottery pick.D he's a fan favorite and will probably sell a few jerseys and that type of things matters when you're rebuilding E 40

The Blazers have been a defensive C and a coach away from being a real good team for the better part of this century. But when you overpay league avg players based on potential it's kind of hard to fill those roles.
