vext
This year is a great year to tank because there isn't just one or two potential franchise building blocks. This draft stands out for its depth at the top. Why do you think Celtics, etc. are dismantling to build through the lottery? This isn't a Wiggins or bust year, although he is the big draw coming into the year. Lebron was the big draw but Melo, Wade, Bosh, etc. offered depth at the top. That's a great point. Maybe we'll barely miss the playoffs and get really lucky. Ha ha ha! Yeah right.

A lot of the top talent for the 2014 draft are currently high-schoolers. Will they even pan out? It's very possible that by the time the draft rolls around, Wiggins, Parker and/or Randle are more 'solid' than 'franchise.'
MVP23
Boston tanked back in 06-7 for the first pick (thought to be Greg Oden). They ended up with the 5th pick, which they traded for KG, and Ray Allen. They won the Ship the next year As someone said, the Spurs tanked for Duncan. The Colts tanked for Luck. The Cavs tanked for Lebron (Although they sucked anyway) The point is, you need Superstars in this league to win, simple and plain. You can get lucky like OKC (who also tanked) and draft 3 great players, or you have to pull a Miami and again tank, get a ton of cap space, and bring in superstars. The OKC thing happens once every 10 years. #TankForSomebody
