In the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader, Sean Newcomb and Max Scherzer dueled, each counting a solo home run as the only blemish on a strong start. Jesse Biddle carried most of the Braves' bullpen load, tossing 1 2/3 perfect innings and recording four strikeouts. Atlanta struck the winning blow in the ninth inning when Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis rapped a pair of singles to set up Ender Inciarte's game-winning triple. Ryan Zimmerman continued his hot streak from Game 1, finishing the doubleheader 6-for-8 with three doubles, while Juan Soto clubbed homer No. 14 to pass Mickey Mantle on the list of homers by teenagers.
