My stab at what we should do in draft/offseason...

Trade JT and 2nd rounder to Portland for DD and pick #23.

With pick #6 take Josh Smith.

With #17 take Sebastian Telfair.

With #23 take Kirk Snyder.

Go hard after KMart and try to resign Sura and Jackson.

Line up: PG Sura/Telfair/Diaw

SG Snyder/SJackson

SF SJackson/Diaw/JSmith

PF KMart/DD/CC

C DD/Pryz

Later in the year trade CC and Hendu to teams looking for cap space for something decent in return.

Not sure but we might have enough money leftover to sign Qrich, if so we could draft Humphries or Al Jeffeson at #23 instead of Snyder and lineup:

PG Sura/ST/Diaw

SG QRich/Sjackson

SF Sjackson/Diaw/JSmith

PF KMart/DD/CC

C DD/Pryz

After a few years you have:

PG Telfair

SG QRich

SF JSmith

PF KMart

C High draft pick

Guten Tag,

Interesting suggestions... I wouldn't mind Dale Davis/#23... However, would Portland take JT? They have DS.... They might use JT as a 7th man...

I was thinking similarly with JT going to Bos for Atkins/Stewart/#15...

About your choice.

I like Josh Smith. However, if we get Smith, I wouldn't be so quick to get Jax unless we think that we can convert Smith into a Sg ala Vince Carter. Smith will have to play. I don't think we will bring in enough Vets to warrant sitting Smith on the bench.

Telfair will have to impress me a little more too. I'm not saying I don't like him. In fact, 17 - 25 is where he probably will fall and should. I'm just saying that he's a throw back... Its good that he's fast!

So what if the picks were:

Smith, Telfair, and Humphries...

We signed Jax...

You think our major Free agent signing should be Kmart?

I would be afraid that Kmart would try to take advantage of us financially. Plus with a young team like this, we would need players who are not title hungry for the 2004-2005 season. However, I would expect any team we put on the floor to be exciting and competitive.
