thesheedera
What position(s) does he play for this team? Thanks for the info. Also, anyone know of a realistic time frame within which we should expect to see him in the US?
sph
hi again. cenk is the only under 18 turkish player that has serious pt in our national team. he played with okur, turkoglu and some other grown-ups last year. I do not think he will be fully ready before 2007-2008 season but he is improving fast. he is playing for turkey's top team(efes pilsen) which is also memo's and hedo's former team. he has a great attitude. he plays sf and sg in here. he is not the fastest guy, he is not the most athletic guy but he is the smartest guy. i always think that if hedo had his attutude, he would be an all star in kings now. this is his last tournament in the U18 team. he plays for all national teams. I think, he should have wait 1-2 years before entering the draft. our national team coach tanjevic said that he has the best bb fundamental in our team. (this team has memo okur, turkoglu and some other good players)
thesheedera
sounds like a steal for where we drafted him - best of luck to him, hope he continues to develop and gets over to the hawks as soon as he's ready
DominiqueWilkins
I would expect him to be involved with the minor league program that will start, but he might not even join that for about 3 years.

Inside_Man
I like that he went 12 for 12 from the line in that game.
twentythree
In the first game of quarter finals Cenk Akyol did a perfect job! Turkish Junior National Team won 61 - 54 against France and Cenk was in action for 34 minutes and here are the numbers. 7/11 2PTFG - 2/9 3PTFG - 2/2 FT - 2off 4def 6 TOT.REB.- 3 ASS - 6 STL - 3TO - 3PF - 22PTS Cenk will continue to develop, I'm sure. One more note; he was selected for the Turkish National Team among with Memo Okur and Hedo Turkoglu for the European Championships...

Gray Mule
Give this kid another ice cream season or two and the Hawks may have a real jewel. Wouldn't that put the frosting on the cake !! Makes his team a winner ! Scores a lot of points late in the game. Pressure points, apparently. Now, I understand, this competition he is playing against is not quiet the NBA talent he will face later, but I'll bet the ball is the same size, the goal is the same size and height and that his shots were going in. That means this kid can shoot, regardless of where he plays! Doesn't help any right now, but the future certainly looks much better after reading about Cenk. Thanks for the report. Keep us informed. twentythree
I mean apart from the stat sheet, he got the leadership of the team and Cenk showed us he could play in the crunch time. His 3PT percentage is really low, but he loves shooting and improving. This year Cenk will get more minutes in "Euroleague" which is the top competition in Europe. His team Efes Pilsen are serious contenders with their new transfers. Hope Cenk would be a part of a Final Four team.
