  1. I think you draft Sarr just in case Trae tells us good bye. i do believe Edey is the best fit big man needed next to Trae in this draft but you can’t pass up Sarr for Edey at the number 1 pick and looking at the position we are in. It’s too bad Trae only has 1 year left! love Trae but at this point you don’t know what’s going to happen in the future.
  2. He is 19 so there’s a lot of learning he has to do. drop coverage- I haven’t seen sarr do a lot of drop coverage. The games I’ve watched he usually just switches but that’s impressive because he’s 7’1 moving his feet extremely well vs perimeter players. pnr - most of his screen settings are slips and pops . I don’t want to say it’s bad but more so looks like what he was told to do in my opinion. Is he a better screener than Edey ? No , I don’t think no center in this draft can set screens as well as Edey but I do believe sarr can be groomed. post up - sarr is more likely to develop a good face up game rather than post up and the fact that he can put the ball on floor and beat centers off the dribble, I wouldn’t worry about post ups for sarr. finishing around the rim - he’s not horrible at this. IF you are comparing Sarr to Edey you’re going to be upset because Edey has some intangibles that work with Trae that other bigs don’t have but Sarr has tools at 7 foot that don’t come around every draft. He may not be as good as Wemby but he has an ultra high ceiling. What I’ve read is that dude is a maniac gym rat and he accepts guidance from his coaches so no cocky attitude. I guess in my eyes if Sarr is a mixture of a poor man’s KG and Wemby combo then I don’t want to pass that up! Also one thing that bothers me about Edey is IF Trae leaves…if Trae leaves I don’t want Edey . I am only good with Edey if Trae stays long term but you can’t draft off of that cause you don’t know what’s going to happen. You take Sarr and if you lose Trae despite trying to make things work, at least you have a #1 pick along with Jalen Johnson to do another rebuild with.
  3. Edey is probably the best offensive center fit for Trae in the draft. But Clingan and Sarr are for sure the best defensive fits for Trae at center in the draft. Sarr is perhaps the best combo center that can fit next to Trae in the draft.
  4. I had to think everything through before i submitted my vote. Sarr is easily the best option by far.
  5. Amen! After doing more research it may be a weak draft but Sarr could be a very very special player for us! He is the obvious 1st pick and I honestly believe he could help make an impact on defense day 1. The FO need to let it be known we are taking Sarr sooner rather than later. The kid really moves his feet defensively! I love the commitment, passion, and dedication he brings on that end. A good coach like Snyder will take Sarr places!
  6. I can’t disagree. Just wouldn’t be shocked if Mitchell wouldn’t mind coming here. I can see him being one of our trade targets. Maybe not a top 2 trade target but can definitely see him being discussed with a Trae, Mitchell, Sarr trio.
  7. Edited “more so than a 1”
  8. Yeah Mitchell is definitely a 2 more so then a 3. He doesn’t play anything like a 1 and he’s pretty stocky guard. i lived in Kentucky when Donovan was at Louisville and he played defense in college but never got the rep in the NBA. In my opinion when you look at the teams he’s been on, he’s never played with another player who can just flat out get buckets …so perhaps not having the offense all on his shoulders would help his defense …just a thought.
  9. Ya know it would not shock me if Mitchell was open to coming to Atlanta to reunite with Synder and play with Trae. wouldn’t shock me at all.
  10. I say it would take DJ and Bogi or OO depending on how the salaries match in the trade.
  11. I like option 2…it’s the best of both worlds a good draft and a good trade (in my opinion)…the only problem I see with option 2 is Trae and where his mindset is. For option 2 you HAVE to commit to allowing that to develop. I believe that lineup can make it to the playoffs but will that lineup truly be a contender right away?? No…so is Trae going to sign an extension and allow this option to grow around him is the biggest question. IF Trae is all good on this strategy then that’s great but something tells me he’d have an issue with this option. Not sure if it moves him to stay here. Same question…does Trae see an addition of Sarr and BI as enough to sign long term??
  12. They both go hand to hand honestly.
  13. I don’t Trae commits to Atlanta long term with option 2. as @Mikey stated that’s the one option where we are trying to play both sides. I can get behind it IF we have commitment from Trae but I don’t see that happening with him. Sarr has to develop into an elite big man and may be best fit at the 4 right now. yeah I don’t know but option 1 while risky may be the best option to just go all in if that can happen. Do you think Trae commits to option 2?
  14. Thank goodness! Big Trae supporter but this is so true if we overthink this!…gotta move carefully Landry!
