  1. He does say his phone is ringing off the hook about the picks so he can play some real hardball if he does make a trade.
  2. He doesn't give away what he might do, but sounds like he plans on keeping the picks. http://www.ajc.com/hawks/content/sports/ha.../0620hawks.html
  3. Portland comes out of this with Odom and the 3rd pick? Great deal for them.
  4. I would take it because I saw Durant play so I wouldn't be so concerned about him not lifting 185 lbs.
  5. Quote: Report: Durant's workout raises eyebrows at camp ESPN.com news services Updated: June 6, 2007, 10:30 AM ET Comment Email Print Kevin Durant wowed NBA teams in his one college season at Texas. At last week's pre-draft camp? Not so much, according to a confidential draft camp report obtained by The Seattle Times. Ford: Is Durant Slipping? Is Kevin Durant's draft stock in danger of slipping because of his poor performance at the pre-draft camp? Chad Ford says the workout is only a small piece of the puzzle -- and that Durant's performance may have been due to lack of preparation. Blog According to the newspaper, the report said Durant was ranked 78th out of 80 NBA prospects who worked out at Orlando, while Ohio State center Greg Oden had an impressive workout. Oden and Durant have long been slated to go 1-2 in the NBA draft, and it's expected the Seattle SuperSonics will take Durant after the Portland Trail Blazers take Oden. According to the Times, Durant was the only prospect at camp who failed to bench press 185 pounds, and finished behind Oden in some key drills, including the vertical leap, agility drill and three-quarter court sprint. Oden jumped 34 inches in the vertical leap while Durant jumped 33½ inches, completed the agility drill in 11.67 seconds to Durant's 12.33 seconds, and finished the three-quarter court sprint in 3.27 seconds, ahead of Durant's 3.45 seconds, according to the report. Durant, however, had a 7-4¾ wingspan, which ranked second among all prospects and measured a half-inch wider than Oden's wingspan. But Durant's college coach said scouts should not question his strength just because he could not bench press 185 pounds. "If people question his strength, they're stupid," Texas' Rick Barnes said Tuesday, according to The Dallas Morning News. "If they are looking for weight lifters to come out of Texas, that's not what we're producing. There are a lot of guys who can bench press 300 pounds in the NBA who couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie. Kevin's the best player in the draft -- period, at any position."
  6. Quote: BREAKING NEWS: 7 FOOTERS CAN DUNK ON SHORTER PLAYERS WHO DON'T PLAY DEFENSE. Story at 11. I don't know much about Yi, but the video did show he could run the floor and handle the ball on the break. I would have like to see him more creating his own shoot and playing more with his back to the basket.
  7. I think BK will take Critt also. I don't think he has given up on Speedy so that will give Critt a little time to develop before Critt takes over.
  8. We have to see if BK can get rid of one of our existing contracts. Lue seems most likely to be dealt, we won't be able to give Lo away.
  9. Any trade involving Josh Smith needs to be a blockbuster. No picks, no other team castoffs, nor other team bench riders.
  10. Quote: 1. Why do the superstars sign these huge contracts and (Kobe 7 years 120 million, Garnett, etc) then whine when the team can't sign any help other than journeymen role players. To make matters worse they expect good players to take discounts on salary when they got their money. Quote: They don't care about the team when it's their time to sign a contract then they want the owner to pay luxury taxes
  11. No way this goes down. If Portland wants the #3 so badly then BK should make it really hurt. Phoenix put it to us in the JJ trade and we are in a position to put it to another team.
  12. I watched this guy on Outside the Lines this morning and a couple of things came to mind during his interview. 1) He said his fought fought one of Vick's dogs in 2000 and Vick bet 5,000. I don't think he realized Vick was drafted in 2001 and 5k is a lot to bet as a college senior. He was talking like in 2000, Vick was already a big star making a lot of money. 2) If he is such a great informant and had all this knowledge of Vick, why did we have to wait until a fail drug bust on Vick's property to hear about this? I mean if Vick is such a heavyweight, then this little task force with this informant would have certainly brought down a heavyweight with Vick's status. I do not have any knowledge of Vick alleged dogfighting and if he is charged then so be it and send him through the legal system.
  13. I don't think we will by-pass Anderson. This became our biggest need since Kerney left.
  14. Thanks for the interview. Because he can handle the ball, I was hoping he would trying to get better taking his man off the dribble and attacking the rim instead of being just a spot up shooter.
  15. He can forget any role in the NBA or any other career in the public eye. Just Plain DUMB!
  16. He is worth a look and I believe he is hungry to try and stay in the league.
  17. The fans do not come out and see bad teams no matter what sport it is in Atlanta. The Braves and Falcons went through the same thing. Once the Hawks put together a winning team, the fans will show up. I was born and raised in Atlanta and I remember the Omni packed to see the Hawks on a nightly basis. Yes, we had a recognizable superstar in Nique, but we also had good teams and better yet winning teams. Although we have a star in JJ, the average person walking the streets in Atlanta do not know who he is because he does not get the "star" publicity from the media. Atlanta is just most other cities. I live in Charlotte now and I remember when Charlotte led the league in attentance year after year. They had good teams and they were winning. Now they are below Atlanta in attendance because people do not want to spend the money to see a bad team night after night with an occasional win here and there. Keep the Hawks in the ATL and put a winning team on the floor the city can be proud of and the fans will fill the Phil.
  18. My guess is Stern would go along with whatever the court rules or he would have jumped in by now and made it clear where the NBA stands on the matter. I also believe Belkin is lining up his investors to help with the financial obligations if he wins.
  19. LOL...this eased the boredom in my office today
  20. This team is not even competing. We have to bring someone in here with at least a winning attitude.
  21. They are 1/2 game out of first and playing probably the best ball in the Atlantic right now.
  22. I am with you....I usually stay out of the fire Woody/BK debates but I have had it. It's time to make sweeping changes to our staff and roster.
  23. The only thing that can be done is someone has to step up and become a legit second option. Woody has to set either Marvin or Chillz up to be the man. I mean run the offense through one of them to give them the confidence to make plays and free JJ up from his constant double or triple teams. It might hurt at first but soon we will be able to compete again.
