  1. I guess you're right...if Schaub had started we would have won. Since he played the entire 2nd half and managed only seven points, I guess he would have led them to at least 18 points in the first half.
  2. Quote: I would expect some revolt from Stoudamire (even though I don't know why).. but Marvin?? Either way, I think especially in the Detroit game, the way that Woody used both Salim and Marvin was good. Marvin was the lead dog when JJ went to the bench and Stoudamire played more minutes than he should have. I say you trade Salim soon... he's going to be a lockerroom cancer. With all the posters on this board, someone would have posted reading or hearing some discontent by Marvin. Plus I can't see him complaining after playing only a handful of games since coming off an injury.
  3. Quote: • MAKING ROOM: In order to make room for the signing of veteran power forward/center Slava Medvedenko, the Hawks waived Matt Freije. Medvedenko, who played six seasons with the Lakers but is now a free agent, could be signed as early as Thursday. Freije played in 19 games this season, averaging 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds This was from an article in the AJC. Have we signed this guy yet?
  4. If you put Schaub in this offense he would get kill. Our OL is horrible and he do not have the mobility to get out of the way. Teams will be able to send everyone because our running game will not be that good. Oh yeah if you take away Vick yards we will be just an average running team. To say our receivers are not that bad just tells me you only watch the games on TV where the receivers is out of the view of the cameras or you watch the highlights on ESPN or somewhere because I attend every home game and travel to Charlotte, Tampa, and New Orleans and see how sh*tty our receivers really play. If you see them in person you will see they are NEVER open and when they do catch a ball we are ranked last in yards after the catch. (Vick's fault too I guess) The only one worth anything is Crumpler because a LB cannot stay with him and he do run better routes that why it hurt so bad when Finnerman went out. I believe the coaching staff are responsible for the play of our offense. I sit in the stands or watch on TV when they are outside our conference and I call about 70% of the plays. My football experience outside of being a fan stopped after my senior year in high school 20 years ago. If I can tell what play we are about to run, I am sure the more knowledgable defensive coordinators can also. Let's not even get into the soft zone our defense plays. Vick has had some bad games but to put this season failure on his back is not fair and that's what you are doing suggesting he's the one who needs to get traded.
  5. What is the love affair with Schaub? What has he done but had a few good exhibition games? Whenever he has got into a real game he has sucked. Everyone talks about Vick's throwing ability, but tell me how many times he has receivers open like other QBs. With the exception of Crumpler our receivers are always covered and if they do get a little open they never pick up any yards after the caught and that is because of poor routes. Vick does deserves some of the blame but without him we would be fighting for the #1 draft pick.
  6. Quote: You can get a copy at Grady Memorial. The Doctors there can tell you who won't be available. LOL..
  7. Keep it full coverage because your model Honda is one of the most stolen vehicles in the U.S.
  8. Don't know if it's been posted but ESPN Insider is free all weekend.
  9. Hopefully we will show some heart...
  10. It's look like AI is not just going to go anywhere just to get out of Philly. web page
  11. Is there ANY part of that people here do not understand! He's the GM, the buck doesn't stop at Jay Bilas and the "consensus", "our scouts", or the Michael Jordan rule. It stops at BK. Hold him accountable. He not only selected the less talented player (with seemingly TWO Pgs more talented...of course well see by next year for sure might be 3, might be 1, might be 0) but he selected him at a position we had 4 other young players at while having no Pgs in a franchise Pg draft. Indefensible and unforgivable! But the BK apologists continue. As far as "BK (not) going out on his own". What do you think the SW pick was?!? He nøt only "went out on his own" but he failed to try out the top prospects and promised SW a month before the draft. There was no "consensus" here! Can't blame "scouting" when you don't try out the top talent. In fact, he wasn't even a "consensus" top 10 pick! I'm sure I'm going to here how SW was a "Woody pick" and how ownership wanted to win now (so BK didn't have control over the selection of SW). Blah-f-ing-blah! Nonsense! Hold this man accountable! Quit making excuses for BK out of what every other GM in the league has to deal with. You think Colangelo didn't have to wade through the fog of the consensus? Every GM has to deal with the "consensus", his team's "scouting", ownership (eccentric, power-hungry, cheap, or dysfunctional), whether the MJ rule applies and to what extent, whether other "rules" apply (such as BPA in the 2nd rd), their coach's wants. When did the GM job description become a grocery-list of excuses for Billy Knight?!? Just because Joe-fan get caught up in the MW hype (and those of us who watched him 10+ games didn't) because Vescey says too doesn't excuse a GM if he should. In fact, that might be the worst indictment against a GM I've ever heard. If a GM bases his decision on the chorus of fellow opposing team's representatives who would like nothing better than to start an avalanche of truthiness about a prospect, a new-rep that would like nothing better than the "scoop" and quoting anonymous "scouts", and the once removed rehash reporter who just repeats what he read,...that GM should be fired immediately. BK got it WRONG! What's so hard about that to swallow that people use his job description as an excuse letter from his parents. He's a big boy in a big boy job. Treat him like one people! W I am sure BK did not sit up and make this nor any other pick from watching SportsCenter. You, me, or anyone else on this board do not have a clue of what went on during their pre-camp workouts with the Hawks. It's easy to sit back after the season starts and see who's doing what and start the blame game. I live in North Carolina and during the Tarheels (who I hate by the way) national championship season, Roy Williams always would say MW was the most talented person on the team. The other players would say he was the most talented on the team. Everyone who gave MW high marks seen alot more of him in person and in tapes to make a more educated guess on what he might be as a pro than you or I. If MW had went first we would have ended up with Bogut anyway.. The bottom line is we got MW... period. We went through hundreds of treads last year about who we should have drafted and nothing has changed. CP is still under contract with another team. Just let it go....
  12. We did need a PG but no one knew how C Paul or D Williams would play in the NBA. (It's all a risk) So do you just pass up on the players who was picked with the most talent and potential? What if Lebron, Melo and D Wade were in this draft? Would your opinon be the same and say by-passed them because we need a PG? I am not saying MW is in the same class as them, but at the time he was projected by many as the number 1 overall pick. I am a fan of CP, but to continue with these "what if" treads and not putting some support behind MW is crazy.
  13. We don't the kind of Cap room which could take on AI salary without giving up a major portion of our team.
  14. I know but all reports are that Philly want to unload AI this week. If that's true and we were a player we would have to work with our tradeable assets.
  15. Quote: I can't beleive we've still got people so wrapped up in this Paul over Williams draft. There is one statement that can sum up why that draft was not some horrible GMing by Billy that everyone makes it seem: EVERYONE AND THEIR MAMA HAD MARVIN OVER PAUL AND HE'S ONLY PLAYED ONE GAME THIS YEAR. It wasn't just BK, you could have your pick of any GM in the freakin NBA and almost all of them would have done the same. So why should he be bashed for something the rest would have done? You gonna fire him and hire someone who would have done the same damn thing? The argument based on STRICTLY HINDSIGHT is null and void because the same people arguing how bad it was wanted Marvin too (yes i know there are some of you exceptions out there). Exactly...You would think BK well out on his own and picked Marvin from Central Middle Tennesse State or something. He was considered the best all around talent in the draft and all the so-call draft experts had hime going 1 or 2.
  16. I just used the ESPN's Trade Machine to see what it would take to get AI here and the answer was just about our whole team. Without JJ, MW and Chillz pretty much has to be included to make the salaries work.
  17. It's not you.....It's early but as of right now we wasted our CAP space this off season.
  18. Quote: Last year critics of the trade frequently said that JJ wasn't a number 1 option on offense. I have a feeling we won't be hearing that any more. Amen
  19. Here is the story in the AJC. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/b...202glavine.html
  20. ESPN is now reporting he is signing a one year deal with the METS. Too bad.......
  21. You're right...during the Hawks-Bobcats game he was interviewed on the Charlotte network and stated he would be back within two weeks.
  22. Just got 5 tickets. Thanks Bruce...Hope to meet some of you there.
  23. ATLANTA SPIRIT Maryland's highest court won't hear Spirit's appeal By TIM TUCKER The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 11/15/06 Maryland's highest court won't referee the Hawks-Thrashers ownership dispute. The Maryland Court of Appeals — the equivalent of Georgia's Supreme Court — on Tuesday denied a request by the majority of the teams' owners for the court to hear their appeal of a ruling that estranged partner Steve Belkin is entitled to buy them out at cost. RELATED LINKS: • More Hawks coverage • More Thrashers coverage The court said, in a brief order, that it denied the request because "there has been no showing that review by [the state's highest court] is desirable and in the public interest." The order means that the appeal instead will be heard by Maryland's lower appellate court, the Court of Special Appeals. The non-Belkin owners had argued that bypassing the lower appellate court would lead to a final resolution faster. That's because a Court of Special Appeals decision can subsequently be taken to the Court of Appeals. "We're disappointed for the city of Atlanta and the fans that the matter won't be resolved sooner," owner Michael Gearon Jr. said after learning of Tuesday's ruling. "However, our confidence level is the same at the Court of Special Appeals as at the higher Court of Appeals. "As you can see with the successes [the Hawks and Thrashers] have had in the first month of the season, there has been no impact on the performance of the teams as a result of this dispute," Gearon said. Belkin's side would have no comment on the latest ruling, one of his attorneys said. Belkin had argued in legal filings that the lower appellate court was the proper place for the "routine contract case" to be heard. The other owners — Bruce Levenson, Ed Peskowitz, Rutherford Seydel, Gearon, et al — had argued that the state's highest court should take the case "not just because of the important legal issues presented [but also because] two major professional sports teams are operating under a cloud of uncertainty." The NBA and NHL had filed a joint "friend-of-the-court" brief asking the highest court to take the case. In Tuesday's order, the Court of Appeals granted the leagues' request to participate as a "friend of the court," but in the next sentence, the court rebuffed the leagues' request for it to hear the case. The Court of Special Appeals has set deadlines of Dec. 8 for the non-Belkin members of the Atlanta Spirit ownership group to file a written brief and Jan. 12 for Belkin to respond. Oral arguments are tentatively set for March. A Montgomery County (Md.) Circuit Court judge ruled in June that Belkin is entitled to buy out the other owners at cost because they missed deadlines in a contract to buy him out. Their petition to the Court of Appeals said the judge "turned the contract upside down" and made "a draconian and financially devastating" ruling. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/s...1115spirit.html Not good news at all.....
  24. You can add Nene to that list also....he has been a bust so far this year and he had to leave the game last night because of problems with his knee.
  25. This is a sad day for the world of R&B. He had one of the greatest voices of the music world. Rest in Peace
